    Chorizo burrito
    Elle M.

Great tacos! Well worth a visit if you're in the area. The food is well-priced, quick to come out, and delicious. I tried the chicken tamales, six of the street tacos, and the chorizo burrito. The chorizo burrito was the weakest--a bit on the salty side--but everything else was great. The tamales weren't dry at all and had the perfect ratio of filling to masa. It was a special, so it may not be there all the time, but it's worth getting if it's available. The street tacos were also awesome; my favorite had to be the carnitas. Crispy, flavorful, juicy, so good--especially with the salsas. Keep in mind this is more of a take-out joint than anything else. If you go heavy on the limes, ask for more from the beginning. They don't provide water, so bring your own or plan to get a drink there. Hopefully the Yelp listing will change, but the name of the place has changed to Cinco de Mayo Taqueria.

No frizzle frazzle here. Just a nice authentic restaurant that has seating or to go and offers fresh food. I used to go to the l Martin city taqueria a lot but I felt the quality had changed and this place is a serious contender They have someone at the food booth and the service counter for payment and you can either wait or have a seat to enjoy some freshly made tacos. It took a little bit of time with a party of three but I felt good that our food wasn't rushed. It came out fresh, hot, and delicious. Prices were fair and the staff was courteous. It was also very busy but everything about the environment was organized. There were no prices on drinks, snacks, or ice cream and no itemized receipt which would be appreciated, but overall it was a pleasant experience and the quality of the food also makes it worth it. I have come here many times and will continue to do so.

Authentic street tacos 9/10 love them! Meat was good and could have just used more seasoning to make it perfect. Burrito is made with refried beans and for me that's all I could taste. Also I usually make two meals out of a burrito but not here, it's more medium size. Medium salsa was tasty and tomatillo based. Yum! Market has tables for eating-in scattered between the shelves and aisles in the market, has a funky feel to it. Staff was quick and pleasant. Not much parking... more of a to-go place.

Found this hidden gem leaving the DMC. Food was flavorful and made fresh to order. I'm going back next Tuesday lol

I had 2 carne asada and 2 carnitas.

Same food but more expensive. Food was cold and the workers seemed annoyed. It wasn't busy at all

Best tacos in the area, maybe even the city. Fast, delicious, decently priced. Grocery store it's in is the best. So many options.

The tamales are to die for. I couldn't find an actual tamale in Kansas City anywhere but here it was the whole time!

However, they are way overpriced for staples. A dozen eggs from Vital at more than $10 is absurd. I dig Vital's eggs & butter, high quality & 3d party tested, but not at that price. My big complaint was the young lady working the register today, I'd drop a name but she didn't have a name tag on. She greeted the lady in front of me and was polite to her. When I got up, I received no greeting, no smile, nothing. There was an older couple behind me, she was friendly and engaged them as I was paying, offering suggestions to their issue. After I paid, she handed me my receipt, didn't thank me for spending my money there, didn't wish me a nice day. I gave her plenty of opportunities. I took my receipt, smiled at her and told her to have a wonderful day. Didn't cost me anything extra and it is a simple thing to do. Although, I wonder if my frosty reception was due to the fact I was wearing a Gulf of America trucker hat?
