I came here for dinner after my afternoon of shopping in downtown LS. For Saturday night, it wasn't packed. My order was taken quickly and food was delivered to my table in a quickly. I had the quessa birria with a side of black beans. The broth was incredible. The quesadilla was pretty greasy and messy. I was able to eat two pieces with my hands. But had to use a fork to eat a third piece. I will go back to check out the street tacos and rice. read more

After years of going in person, we really wanted Street tacos which is what we get every time. For three years we have ordered the same thing and know what it should be like. We ordered for everything to be deconstructed so that it would still be fresh. Felix delivered the worst soggy garbage I have ever seen. Everything was cold, the tortillas fell apart immediately. The meat was full of large chunks of fat and it looked like someone crushed a handful of chips over them. These tacos were inedible and went straight to the trash which is where they belonged. My only complaint is that the steak might not be the best meat option as it has a rougher texture. The good: This is the best place I've found so far for tacos al pastor. The meat was well-seasoned. The bad: While it's not terribly hard to find parking in downtown Lee's Summit, it's not always the most convenient either. The lady who took our order looked very uninterested. Some family treated me to a taco place in Lee's Summit I have never been to before on June 16th, and BOY-it was delicious! ^__^ It was also my first experience eating cow tongue street tacos, which was one of the tastiest meats I have ever had! Especially on a glorious authentic-style street taco! The restaurant is small, cute, and the customer service was awesome! I'm definitely gonna go there again some day! The food is excellent- but the funniest thing is I went there because k8 and I are on an all vegan thing for the first five weeks of this year and this was one of the only vegan places I found in Kansas City. What made me laugh was they had two vegan tacos, a poblano chili, and a mushroom taco... however, out of embarrassment, those were off-menu. They were on an electric rotating video board showing specials, but apparently they were ashamed of including it in the regular menu. I sort of don't blame them. Especially in Kansas/Missouri, where you can be slathered in barbecue sauce & dragged by a truck or horse and buggy for being a vegan; however, I ordered those two tacos, and they were delicious... My first cousins once removed, and my cousin in law had the regular fare and said it was awesome. I recommend if you're a low-key in the closet vegan, or even if you just like good Mexican food. We love this place so I hope it stays in business! It's very casual, you order at the front, get a number and they bring your food when it's ready. I wish the menu inside was a little better. I don't see the fried tacos with ground beef on there (in fact, ground beef isn't listed with meats you can get) and that's one of the best things they have! This is a nice little shop! We had not been here before and asked a lot of questions at the counter. She patiently explained everything, giving us options and suggestions. Before finalizing our order she read it back to us. The seating area was clean and decorated nicely. Our food was brought to the table quickly, it was hot and presented nicely. Portions were good. The street tacos were very flavorful, especially the steak ones, and were garnished with veggies and enough limes. The carnitas burrito had plenty of lean meat. About halfway through eating they came to check on us. Not typical for ordering at the counter, but a nice surprise! If you haven't tried this place yet, you won't regret it. So glad we have an authentic quick Mexican restaurant in Lee's Summit. This place is spot on and the street tacos were really good! The salsa was very very good, but the chips being thin, crispy & HOT were awesome! I'd seriously go back just for the chips & salsa! My friend added an avocado & it was a perfectly ripe and HALF of an avocado, no small amount of brown mush here. Outside of the chips & salsa I'd say my next favorite thing was the tacos. I loved that they had real Mexican options for the meat. I love tripa & lengua, but find most places that aren't directly targeting Hispanic people tend to be pretty basic with their choices. I was super impressed they offered them and then with the meat itself! Sometimes the tripa can be a little "dirty" tasting, but not theirs they were amazing. Food is mediocre at best. The oil on the tacos smelled fishy. We ordered the quesa tacos and a kids chicken finger (yes he is an adult ) but wanted to try them. The lady was very rude when I asked for his soda cup and said is it for a kid.. he said yes..which she did not even charge the kids price but 2 dollars more. I was also charged for a water cup. The chicken fingers were banquet chicket fingers. The tacos were very bland and did not have any onion or cilantro on the side but a few pieces inside. The broth is something from a packet and not what the beef was cooked in which makes me wonder where did the birra come from? Looking for some Real Tacos?? These are the best fried tacos I've found. We enjoyed our selections.. and look forward to coming back and trying more of their offerings. The dark salsa is pretty spicy for us but the green was perfect. There are some nice drink choices here including mixed drinks and beer and pop.
