We've had good experiences at the Fort Worth location, so we decided to come to the Preston location for Father's Day. We ordered all our food at once, but the food for our kids (2 and 4) came first. No biggie, although their food wasn't great. Bacon had obviously been precooked and reheated, which would have been ok if it weren't burnt and dried out. Toast seemed old and stale. Potatoes were a bit burnt. 20 mins later, our kids are done and our food hadn't come. Our waiter informed us he put their order in first, hence the delay. Strange, given we gave our entire order at once. Even if he put a rush on their dishes, 20+ mins is ridiculous, especially when you have small children. Overall, very disappointing for a Father's Day breakfast. I would not recommend this location. read more

Genuinely surprised. The bistro come cafe style works well here for giant portions of well cooked food and friendly service. The location is not quite a chili's and not quite a quaint breakfast place and appears to have been lifted straight from an airport terminal somewhere. Happily the lack of personality in the restaurant style is all that detracts here. (Let's face it, it's smartly dressed up, but it's no Pierre Cardan. More J Crew) Portions are large. Probably a little larger than they need to be which is actually a bonus. Quality is good, and everything is well cooked. Menu is small but not limited. The coffee is good and hearty and customer service comes with a smile and level of attention that makes you feel like you're in that executive lounge that you only got in to because your dad has a credit card with access and he made you an authorized user. There's nothing truly earth shattering about this place but if you think this is a bad thing you would be dead wrong. This is ultimately how a casual breakfast spot should be. It's kind of like that girl you met in your twenties - she wasn't a party animal but she was damn good company in the local bar and smart enough to take home to your parents. The point being is that nothing here is incredible. But it's exceptionally well done and well enough above average that it earns a place in my favorites list. You won't go hungry. You won't be disappointed. And you won't really want it to be better. This was my second visit to First Watch. It's always busy, so get in line on their website or yelp before you head that way. There's plenty of parking. The food is fresh and comforting, and the seasonal drinks are only for certain palates, so ask for a sample. The servers are pleasant accommodating, I'll definitely return. read more

Love First Watch! I first went to the Phoenix, AZ location while I was traveling and was so excited they opened in Dallas/Preston Forest. I've also been to their Houston and Tyler locations and their food quality/service is for the most part consistent. First Watch offers awesome healthy brunch/lunch menu/options. The million dollar bacon is not healthy but so delicious. I prefer savory to sweet - everything I tried was good. They do get busy but you can get on the line on Yelp. So we can get in line virtually when we start driving over there and the wait time is minimal when we get there. I don't know why isn't more restaurant offering this. They also have seasonal menu items, and those are delicious as well. read more

What a wonderful and healthy option for breakfast and lunch in Preston Hollow! You can easily skip the wait with the Yelp app. The atmosphere is farm to table and the wait staff is attentive. The tacos, eggs Benedict with salmon and the Tri-athlete were very tasty. The pricing is a little high but the food is good quality and the portions are large so you can easily split. The food was good, but not excellent. It had good flavor but what felt like absolutely no salt or pepper. We tried the two special juices that they had and those were both very delicious. The services was great and our server was very nice. The biggest disappointment was that they don't serve alcohol. Why I slept on this place for so long is such a mystery, but the service and great food is what made me wake up! I came with a friend for brunch and was amazed by the numerous choices on their menu. The staff was super attentive and friendly, they weren't afraid to offer help and answer questions. I was in town visiting family when nephew suggested First Watch in Dallas. He said it recently opened. The restaurant itself was very nice with a warm atmosphere. Staff all seemed really pleasant and happy to be there. Our server was prompt and although she may have been a little new, her friendly smile and attentive service shined through. I had the pumpkin pancakes with eggs and it was great. I have had the kale tonic before and I ordered it again and it was excellent. Overall we all had a really nice meal. On the way out, I heard a guest mention they were up from Houston and due to the hurricane, they were up staying with friends. I watched the hostess wish them well and then bought their meal!! Not sure what the fuss is about. We showed up on a Saturday at 10:30am to a packed lobby. The host and hostess were ice cold and not welcoming. The dining area had five open tables even with the long wait list. After 20 minutes they finally sat us. The waiter was not friendly, didn't introduce himself or explain anything about the menu. We ordered two avocado toasts. The bread was lovely, but not warm or toasted. The avocado was unsalted and had lemon in it, and was cold. Who serves cold avocados? Maybe the citrus kept it fresher in the refer because it is pre-made? The basted eggs were cold when we got them, and one of the sets of eggs were so over cooked the yolks were hard. The waiter didn't ask about the food and dropped or bill on the table halfway through the meal. The cashier at the front was polite, but didn't greet us for fifteen seconds while he straightened me us. He never smiled. He didn't say you're welcome when we said thank you. This is the place to go if you're looking for good food and excellent customer service. I had the Belgium Waffle with cheese eggs. The waffle came out pipping hot and the cheese eggs were slamming. I didn't have time to take a photo because the food look to inviting to wait. Our server Errington was on point. He was very courteous and made sure that we were satisfied with everything. The only take away from this experience was, "No Plant Base Meat. " other than that, I recommend you go check them out. I will be returning this weekend for another bite. read more

We ordered the Avocado Toast (comes with a side of eggs) and the AM Superfood Bowl (comes with a side of almond butter toast). The Avocado Toast was loaded with a generous portion of chunky avocado on a multigrain toast and came with a side of two eggs over easy. Both times food was top notch. Leans towards a "fresh market" atmosphere with high end ingredients. All the traditional breakfast favs are really good with good portions. They have a combo that has everything including waffle/French toast with eggs. Good to share. A fav was the omelette with spinach and Swiss. The weekday visit was easy with lots of room and very good service. Weekend (Razorback game Sat) got busy fast after 8:30. We were seated quick but took a little long for food and refreshes but not enough to cause issue. By the time we left there was about 15 people waiting so it's getting popular.
