Waitress was very rude. She was so unenthusiastic and seemed like she didn't want to be there. They brought out my gnocchi entree with the appetizers and didn't bring out my boyfriends entree till later. He ordered the steak medium and it came out well done. My gnocchi was so over cooked and mushy. We actually complained to the waitress about the food and she apologized then said, "is there anything I can do for you guys? Do you want another drink?" Then at the end ended up charging us for that drink. I understand they are new, but that level of service and food quality is not up to par for the prices they were charging. read more

During my stay my last place to eat with at Eva. My main course was just the spinach artichoke dip although I tried a Margherita pizza. Both items were fresh, although the pizza took longer then 20 minutes & the server kept telling us it will be out in 2 minutes so ehh on that but the food was good, prices seem reasonable but you pay for the quality of dining not service. Although our waitress shared her secret menu with what alcohol beverages pair with what that was a score & she helped me pick an exquisite wine for my dishes. The restroom was very clean & the ambience with the cute message written on mirror you can dine inside or outside although if you are allergic to bees I would definitely pick inside, but if you prefer fresh air while you dine they have plenty of seating in shade and warm sunspots. Really enjoyed this restaurant for a celebratory dinner. Our party of four tried a few dips, the burger, the lamb shank, the falafel burger and the salmon. All were excellent and well priced. Staff was friendly as well. While the menu is not super expansive, it seems there's something for everyone who enjoys Mediterranean cuisine. read more

I've been here three times now and don't plan to return. My first visit was in the summer, the place was so hot it was unbearable and the service was horrible. After waiting 25 minutes to see a waiter, we decided to find another spot on Newberry Street with working air-conditioning and better service. I gave this place another try last week and was seated upstairs (January 2024) and enjoyed it. I went back with another group of friends the following week... we were seated downstairs and it was so cold in there we almost left. By the end of the dinner, I was embarrassed that I had made the recommendation and was ready to leave. The swordfish, onion soup, and calamari are great. The tuna tartar and chicken pesto pizza were mid. The muscles and shrimp scampi were horrible. I almost sent the muscles back because they smelled so awful. Nothing looked good enough to take a picture. Now I don't have to wonder why this place is always pretty empty. I personally will not be returning and would not recommend this spot when there are so many better options on Newberry Street/back bay. read more

The service was okay. The view not bad, the food barely edible. The Cesear had lettuce with brown spots, the tomato soup had an aftertaste, the waffle rubbery. The prices are kind of reasonable, I guess but expensive when you realize you have to go elsewhere for something to eat after this place, that is how bad the food is. We left all three, barely touched and the waiter kept asking if he could remove our plates. He should have asked if everything was ok, considering we took a bite and decided we could not take anymore. I would skip this place. Surely you can do better elsewhere. read more

A friend of mine went here when this place first opened and told me they were served raw chicken but I just assumed it was because the restaurant was new and still getting a handle on things. BUT I came here myself with a friend of mine yesterday and they ordered the chicken caesar salad. Ever since they have been vomiting non stop! Sat outside on a glorious Boston afternoon. Nice patio with lots of shade. Started with drinks. Vodka lavender iced tea was Delicious but pricey at $15. Some issues with the menu. They didn't have want I wanted the Cuban And my friend order the tuna burger which was to be a med rare seared tuna but instead was something like chunk light tuna. Didn't get much resolution asking the waitstaff about it but it was clearly wrong. Apparently tasted ok so we moved on. I had the Cobb salad fresh and delicious but again pricey at $17. Hey it's newberry st which seems to turning more upscale than ever with lots of very high end brands moving in. Hope it doesn't lose its charm in the way to the upscale destination. read more

Honestly I was expecting so much more from this place. We came as a large group for lunch and they just cannot handle a lot of people at once for some reason I guess. We were at 3 separate tables and somehow one of the tables in our 'group' had their checks before our table even had our food out. We waited almost 40 minutes to get food and my order was wrong. We asked for the sauce on the side because my bf can't eat the ranch but it was all over the sandwich. Since it took so long we didn't want to ask for a replacement so we just asked them to take it off and thankfully they did. We also ordered the cheeseburger spring rolls which were definitely not spring rolls. My bf had a bite and started to feel sick because they definitely seemed more like an egg roll. Of course I recognize large groups are overwhelming, but I just can't see how some of the tables got food 30 minutes before ours. When we asked what was taking so long they started coming out with food saying ok well we'll just bring out what's ready. So I guess our food had been sitting there for a little while because it wasn't very hot. Other people at our table still waited at least 5 minutes. We got the fried chicken sandwich and it was very flavorless. The cheeseburger 'spring rolls' were ok, but I was expecting more spring roll. Everyone else in our group said the food was just ok, nothing great. So overall we left about 1.5 hours after we got there feeling hungry (and my bf feeling a little sick). Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was great! Do not order the red sangria. Tastes weird and was a waste of $14. Would've asked for a dessert menu but it was so cold I just wanted to leave. Also the bar was very small and out of seats; everyone was on top of each other, when they had a huge bar upstairs that was not being utilized. Probably would not return here. Brought my wife and daughter for a nice lunch. Restaurant was not busy. I knew we were in trouble when it took 15 minutes for the server to come over after we were seated. After taking our order, the server never returned for the duration of the meal to check on us, offer refills, etc. Turns out he messed up my order and my daughter's order. Since he never returned, I had to find him to point out the mistake. 15 minutes later it still was not fixed. Had to find another staffer to help us. Finally we got the check. The food was very good, you would expect that on Newberry Street. The barbecued octopus was outstanding, the street corn tasted a little off from others we have had. The braised short ribs with gnocchi were very good, as well as the margherita pizza. We do not live in the city and happened to forget a pair of sunglasses, and called the restaurant to see if they found them because we left them on the table. The hostess said yes they were here and given to the manager; we spoke with the manager and he said no one ever gave him any sunglasses. After driving half an hour towards home we turned around, went back, and found our sunglasses in their a little bin of extra sunglasses. It's unfortunate that the manager couldn't take two minutes out of his time to look after he told us he would look then call back but we knew that wasn't going to happen by the way the conversation went. That's what brings my five stars down. I would give them 3 1/2 stars but that is not an option At the time we called, the manager, he said he was too busy to look and would call us back. However, after we parked and went back to the restaurant he was just standing around doing nothing at the hostess station, which was already attended to by the hostess. read more

Great place to dine, drink and able to have conversations without having to speak over the dining room. We came here for dinner. They have interesting cocktails selection on their menu. Some dishes are a hit or a miss, they don't skimp on their portion size especially their lamb. I don't eat lamb, but the friends I went with enjoyed it very much. The appetizers and truffle fries were good. The pig-za was not the best brick-oven pizza I had. It needed more flavor and sauce. It had enough depth. I really enjoyed their cheesecake and my party said their coffee was good. read more
