We had a late reservation on a weeknight and there were still tables seated after us. This is a south end Gem! This very trendy Neighbourhood pub had the most amazing seafood tower, which was ideal for my husband and I to have the seafood tower! Lots of good stuff! The crab claws, and the oysters were my favorite! Also had an order of fried oysters, which was delicious too! It had a really nice indoor seating as well and what's nice too is it's very accommodating to anyone for a gastro pub. It was a bunch of strollers parked outside. Fit for new mothers so that was a cool thing to see. I was here in the afternoon so I don't exactly know what the night vibe is, but I can only imagine it's pretty happening. The Exotic Escape cocktail was very good and the smash burger had a generous helping of meat, although other than grilled onions and cheese didn't have anything else on it. I put my name and number down (and confirmed this) as there was a 1 hour wait (they don't take reservations). More than 1 hour passed and we didn't hear back despite me checking my phone religiously so we walked back to check to which they said our spot was given up because we never responded to their text (which I never got). I've only been in for drinks, but their cocktail program alone is worth all the stars! We were lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar on a busy weekend night. Ambiance was dark and moody, a very cute spot. We learned from the bartender that they only have a cordial license, but they sure make the most of what they are able to serve. The host and bartender were both very welcoming and friendly, we felt very well taken care of. My cocktail was the Ember... something, it had mezcal and grapefruit, and the brightness of the citrus balanced well with the very smoky mezcal. The Rye & Roast was also very memorable - I likened it to a more masculine espresso martini. I'm not a huge brown liquor drinker but the rye paired very well with the borghetti espresso liqueur, there wasn't the typical bite. Can't wait to come back to try the food! read more

Went to Louis Corner in the South End for brunch and it was super cute inside, seriously such a pretty space. They don't take reservations so it's walk-in only, but luckily it seemed to be a slow Sunday for them and didn't have to wait! I ordered the lobster roll, which was good but definitely not the best I've had in the area. My friends got the avocado toast and smoked salmon Benedict and they liked theirs a lot. The cocktails were the real win though especially the Emerald Espresso. Overall, a solid brunch spot with great drinks and a gorgeous vibe. This is a cute spot, but I had a bit of a hectic experience landing a table! I wish they accepted reservations. Unfortunately when I tried to do walk in it was over two hour wait. So we hopped to desnuda and had a full experience there and came back but still no table ready for us. It ended up being about 2.5 hour wait all in all. The prices were very good and the ambiance was nice. But the food and drink was nothing to write home about. The long wait had me expecting something really incredible but it was just okay. If I had been able to book a res and walk right in this would have been a five star experience for me. read more

I've stopped in once for drinks and snacks with a friend in the evening, and once for Sunday brunch with a large party. The food was solid, the cocktails are not to be missed, the service is super-friendly, and the location is fabulous. I hope this place becomes an anchor for the neighborhood. The Butcher Shop (RIP) was fun, but Louis seems to have improved on it. I hope the place is as delightful throughout the winter as it is during the summer, when people are enjoying themselves outside in the sun. P.S.: Louis is great for vegetarians. read more

I must be honest, I've rated the food 5-stars without dining there, because the reputation of this establishment precedes itself. Additionally, I still remember the smell of a caviar shareable platter that immediately beckoned for a return reservation. From several bar seats down, the delightful smell became a must try on my return. Atmosphere phenomenal, we couldn't cross the threshold with a sea of salutation and smiles. As fantastic as everything else was, Hunter stole the show. He and his team were simply phenomenal, courteous, HILARIOUS, and I haven't received better service in quite some time. After looking online at the menu before arriving, I planned to order the Mac and cheese, which is listed as vegetarian both online (for $20). It was also listed as vegetarian at the restaurant (though for $28). I was served a dish with lobster, which I didn't realize until a few bites in. They weren't particularly apologetic about serving a vegetarian the dish with lobster. When I called later in the evening to ask if I was also overcharged once I noticed the price discrepency, they said that the menu had changed and they now serve a $28 dollar lobster mac and cheese. I told them they should update their website, which was met with no response. Poor customer service around their mistake. Otherwise a good experience, but I will not be back. read more
