Elway's Downtown was a good dining experience. Located in the lobby of The Ritz-Carlton, Denver, it is centrally located to many city landmarks and major sporting fields. It is also within walking distance to 16th Street Mall. It is what you'd expect from an upscale steakhouse. However, their menu is diverse as they also offer breakfast and brunch. Unlike some steakhouses, they have a decent dessert menu. The customer service was good. I dined during late lunch, so the dining room was virtually empty. I had very good seating near the wine display. I ordered the steak breakfast burrito which was absolutely delicious. You can order it topped with sausage gravy or Colorado green chili. Overall, a very good experience and I will visit again when in the area.

Quick stop in for a drink before a dinner reservation nearby. I have never been to Elway's before and although I did not try any of the food, I'm sure it is divine. I tried the Peach Bourbon Smash and it was an interesting mix of tastes. It was ok and at $21, one drink was plenty for me. I did enjoy the Palisade Peach wedge on the side -- always nice to support local Coloradans. Service and ambiance were great, as expected. I am looking forward to going back and trying the food menu.

Elway's was on our list because we are Broncos fans visiting from out of state and you know, who doesn't love John Elway? Anyway, we came for brunch on a Sunday and made reservations thru Open Table. Given the time of year, it wasn't very busy. The restaurant gives an upscale but welcoming vibe. Our server Andy let us ask him 1,000 questions about the menu and recommendations and he didn't seem bothered one bit. He actually was very friendly, engaged, honest, and a great server. One of his recommendations was the steak burrito, which coming from CA I wasn't sure I wanted because CA makes great burritos already.. but, I went with it. Oh my gosh.. The steak burrito 5/5.. juicy, good, tons of flavor and lots of steak, needed no sauce at all. Best steak burrito I think I've had. French toast with apple compote 5/5 the chantilly cream and the airy good French toast were great together. Yum. 5/5 Colorado morning breakfast with the turkey sausage option w/a side of avocado 5/5 Out order took a bit to come out so he gave us pastries and fruit to help which was kind and appreciated. I'd also like to note I did ask about the crab Benedict and they gave me the option to order it (it wasn't on this menu anymore). Bloody Mary 5/5... my mom loved it. Great flavor not too spicy, not watery but not thick. One of the best bloody's. Hugo spritz 5/5... okay this was refreshing, a little strong, and comes with a big rosemary garnish which is perfect. I'd order again. We were so pleased with the food, service, and kindness of this restaurant I'd hope to bring my family back when visiting again. Thanks, Andy!

After a business event, a coup of us wanted to unwind and have a drink. This was my first time checking Elway's out and I definitely want to go back. It's a beautiful space in the gorgeous Ritz Carlton. The service was exceptional and my mocktail hit the spot. I peeked at their menu an d plan to come back the next time I'm in Denver.

I'm not sure if this is the airport one or not but Holy CRAP. We had this restaurant for the first time on Saturday and I haven't stopped talking about it! We had the lamb chop fondue, the corn/ chicken chowder, the Mac n cheese and the steak salad and it was all to die for ! Highly highly recommend checking this place out asap ! The service was so sweet, nice and helpful ! The airport restaurant itself was so nice inside and roomy ! Do yourself a favor and check this place out for the best, seasoned greatly steak and lamb chops !!!

Fantastic ribeye steak. Good service. Great vibes. I was there with a group after a conference event. The restaurant was flexible with us and served a spontaneous group of 10+ people. My steak came out perfect medium rare. It was tender and flavorful. It was much better than the steak I had the next night at the capitol grille. Great steak = great review. I'm very picky about my steaks too. I'd come back sometime.

My husband and I had dinner tonight at Elway's and we can't say enough good things about the service and food! The kitchen was busy and back up, so food took a little longer, but the manager and our server, Bryce, were attentive and honest about the delays! Food was fantastic and service was top notch! Ultimately we had a wonderful experience and would come back! Thank you!!

Hadn't been to Elway's at the Ritz in a while. Stopped in for a drink before dinner at another location. Entrance to Elway's is now only through the main lobby. We sat at the bar and were greeted and served immediately. I opted for a slightly dirty vodka Martini with plain olives (Tito's vodka, nothing special). I was surprised when we got the tab and discovered my drink was $23. I didn't even get the caviar-stuffed olives. The ambiance was nice and relaxing, they provided us with a trio of snacks (mixed nuts, potato chips, and wasabi peas), and my friend had never been to Elway's, so the price was more for the experience.

This was a first to Elway's downtown and boy how impressive is this place? Yes, the food is a bit on the pricey side (a la carte menu) but it is also very, very fantastic. We came here to celebrate my son's birthday in February and the fun part (for me) was as we were greeted by the hostess, she handed my son a signed photo from John Elway (prolly a facsimile). I think I was more stoked than he was. For dinner my son ordered the Rib-eye. I wasn't doing so well so ended up with soup and salad. Neither of us were disappointed. His rib eye was cooked as ordered, medium. I figured it was pretty darn tasty as he polished off all 22oz. I had the soup of the day, which was a Chicken Tortilla and it was excellent. It comes with the usje toppings, cheese, chips and sour cream. Our waitress was fabulous and even though it was busy with many patrons, it didn't seem too loud. Didn't notice anyway. The bathrooms are shared with the hotel and they are kept in excellent condition. Clean is key! The only downside was the parking situation. It being downtown was expected but the garage across the street (south side) had a different way to enter (call a number and speak to an automated agent with Q&A. Like, I just want to park please.) Anyway the garage closed up before we were done with dinner so we had to walk around to the other south side and get help from security. Totally spaced the valet option so definitely will try this next time. And of course would highly recommend doing such.

This is an exquisitely cool bar at the Ritz in the sterile steel empty lot wasteland of downtown Denver. Brilliant service and very cool individual black booths (a good option when not wanting the steak house attached). The chicken wings looked great but sadly lacked the addicting flavor of its rivals. Great wedge salad. Would have liked a steak, but not at $75 thanks at a zenned up sports bar. Definitely this spot about the only option in immediate area for those lost in translation nights.

Timothy M.

Overall the experience was very pleasant. The service was incredible and the environment was perfect for a fun night out. As for the food and drinks. The steak and sides were amazing. The cocktails were decent. I would recommend sticking with what's in the menu and not venturing off to a crafted drink. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Lots of professionals seemed to hang out here after work. They offer a great selection of steaks, half size portions of sides (which is amazing) and an array of cocktails and wine. I got grass fed New York and my friend got filet. Hers was slightly under but nothing she couldn't eat. The best thing on the menu... black truffle Mac and cheese!! Wow! The octopus was also tender and had great wood fire flavor. Our server was a bit all over the place and when we needed something, I had to track down someone else. Didn't love that. Would definitely come back again!

Celebrated a big business success recently and decided to go whole hog (is that even a saying these…read moredays?:) on a dining-extravaganza. Decided on A5 because 1) it's got some great appetizers / starters, 2) love the servers there, and 3) was in the mood to chow down on a hunka-chunka serious steak, and for the first time get a tomahawk slab o' beef that I had seen before on the A5 menu. Came in early on a Thursday night (6:15 pm) so the place was losing its happy hour crowd and had not yet been swooped down on by the hip dinner crowd. A great time to go. Could not have been better. Started with their crab and shrimp dip app and Japanese milk bread, both of which are stand-out non-steak items on their menu. Ordered the tomahawk steak which is ridiculously large (over 40 ounces (10 of which is from the large rib bone)) and ridiculously good (and ridiculously expensive . . . as in like over $225), along with an order of asparagus. Loved it all. Of course, we split the steak and had no room for dessert. Brought home probably 10 ounces of meat along with some other leftovers which will give us another night of good at-home eating. Bottom line . . . wonderful experience. Pricey but they made it a true celebration for us and it was well worth it. Go. You'll have a great time there, and if you don't want to blow a bundle and its your first time at A5, check them out at happy hour. It's probably the best deal for the best HH food in Denver.

We started with the burrata based on Yelp reviews and they weren't wrong. Super fresh tasting, and the focaccia paired with it perfectly. It's an upcharge but worth it, and you aren't at a place like this to pinch pennies anyways. We both chose the rigatoni, we had a heavy lunch, and it was perfect. The sauce was deep and hearty and the pasta was exactly al dente. We split a strawberry guacamole sorbet and glad we did, it was larger than expected and absolutely delicious. Place has the feel of a modern restaurant, very sleek. My only complaint was that we were seated next to a room with a large group and it was hard to hear each other talk, but nothing to be done about that. Backed that up with a solid salad, then moved into a homemade pasta with ragù that had no business being that good. Very cool!! The food was good but not great. For the price, I'd expect something a little better but the beef tenderloin was cooked exactly the way I ordered it (complete with peppercorn crust). It was tender but maybe a bit dryer than I like for a filet. The peppercorn crust was amazing! The Saratoga chips are made in house and they are very good as well. Super crispy with the right amount of salt. We got a history lesson from one of the servers, about 10min worth of backstory about the restaurant and it was almost like dinner and a show. Parking is a bit tight if they're busy but it's downtown Denver so that's typical. Other than the price being a bit high for the quality, this place is a good time and a good meal.

This was by far the worst part of our trip to Denver... be warned. Parking: There is free parking in the back of the building. When we first walked in we were greeted and brought to our reserved tables upstairs. If you decide to try this place, get a reservation and do downstairs. There is so much more to look at downstairs! Instead, we were brought to a backroom that was much cooler(in temp) and had way less to look at... we felt "put into the corner." It was busy, and it appeared they were short staffed. It took a long time for our server to get to us. She was very sweet and I definitely felt for her, she was really trying! However, it took awhile to get our drinks, the complimentary bread came out after our appetizer and house salads... anything complimentary should come out right away. The food: We got the Rocky Mountain oysters and I actually thought they were good! The cocktail sauce is very tomato forward and the "horseradish sauce" was a joke! There was absolutely no flavor and I am convinced it was just sour cream! If you do order these, ask for their ranch- it was dill flavored and delicious! The house salad was good But wet... like I had water on my plate. If you want a Caesar Salad it will cost an extra 7.50!!!!!!!!! Why!? That doesn't make any sense! The complimentary sourdough was good but the whipped butter had no taste at all... we had to sprinkle some salt on it for it to actually taste decent. We got the New York strip 16oz and the Elk steaks. The New York strip was the worst steak we have ever had! It was supposed to be cooked to a medium but was definitely closer to a medium rare. The butter on top did not have any flavor and was pointless. It had a fair amount of fat on it and the crust tasted "ashy" to us. It was expensive so we ate it, but terrible! The mashed potatoes were not mashed well! I had a whole potato in it! The veggies were mushy and overcooked. The elk steaks were actually very good! I would recommend that! The wild rice was brown rice with a few wild rice pieces... and again mushy veggies! The total price for one alcoholic drink, one bottled soda, a half order of Rocky Mountain oysters, the New York strip and elk steaks was over $200 with tip. We went to the restrooms afterwards and they were disgusting and dirty! If we are spending over $200 on a meal it better be great service, food and ambiance! This missed the mark HEAVILY! If you do feel the need to go here, get a table downstairs, make a reservation, get the Rocky Mountain oysters with the dill ranch and the elk steaks.

Quiet and cozy with the Rat Pack looking on, the mood was chill, anticipation high. Service is consistently attentive, prompt, and friendly here. Jason greeted us warmly and followed this with soft, warm bread with Anaheim-spiced garlic butter that we could have filled up on and left happy. It's stellar. Drinks arrived quickly: my Great Divide farmhouse ale and a potent White Russian that had mom in silly mode. Mom took her salad to the woodshed. My cup of green Chile corn chowder hit the spot. We were stoked when our server from my last birthday brought our entrees. It felt like home. While the "Sugar Steak" is their calling card and a number of topping combos are available, we went for straight up beef. No regrets. Medium rare? Perfect. Mom's filet mignon torched the one I had at Gallagher's in Las Vegas a week ago--at a much better price. I tried the wagyu coulette (picanha). Unbelievably tender, it's my new Bastien's fave. Side and soup or salad come with your steak--none of the a la carte nickel-and-diming found at most steakhouses nowadays. This sets Bastien's apart. We enjoyed the twice-baked potato and white cheddar mashers. I can vouch for the loaded baked potato and French onion soup, as well. After reading other reviews and checking out photos beforehand, I knew the Colorado lamb was a must-order. It's not something I usually go for, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Absolutely worth the hype. We also ordered the birria short rib and hickory smoked picanha, and both were solid choices. The shrimp and corn grits were amazing, and I really loved the aged cheddar mac and cheese. Other dishes like the chickpea croquettes and the chili relleno were also pretty good and rounded out the meal nicely. The wait staff was fantastic. For an appetizer, two meats, two sides, and dessert, our total came out to $88, which felt like a great value for the quality. Overall, it left a really good impression and we'd definitely come back again.
