Overall, just okay. The chips and salsa weren't great, and there was no green salsa available (only on Fridays & Saturdays). The kids' fries were very oily and lacked flavor. Portions were decent for the price. If you like Tex-Mex, this might be for you. The service was excellent -- very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food wasn't a hit for me, so I probably won't be back.

El Jarrito is a good Mexican spot in Katy. They've got all your standard Tex Mex dishes. I like how they bring out beans with the salsa. The queso is tasty and I requested pickled jalapeños which they gave plenty of that were mild. I forgot to take pics of my main meal because I was too hungry but I had a combo plate that had a cheese enchilada, chicken chalupa, and beef fajita taco. The enchilada was tasty. The chalupa was difficult to eat and the chicken had no taste. The beef in the taco was overly charred tasting. I liked the beans and rice. Next time I would probably just get an enchiladas plate. The service was good and I like how ornate the decorations are. The tables are also nicely organized to provide a bit of space from others.

Is it still good? Yes, el Jarrito still has tasty food and good drinks. I had the mole enchiladas. I have had mole before where the sauce was very heavy, but not so much with this dish. Add just a touch of crema fresca (Mexican sour cream) to each bite, and the taste is incredible. Recommended. I drank a house margarita with the meal and enjoyed it. Strong, but still smooth. Later I had some of my wife's quesadillas. A ton of cheese and very good. We enjoy the green sauce and beans served with tortilla chips.

One of my favorite patios... Our server was nice and accommodating. It being Good Friday, I asked if I could have the shrimp stuffed poblano as it was not on the menu and server was very sweet and said that they would try. They delivered. My son opted for the burrito. It was big enough that he took half of it to go. The beans they serve with the salsa are always so delicious.

El Jarrito is a great Mexican restaurant. The service is amazing, the food was delicious. Especially the chips and beans that they give you to start. The drinks like the Margaritas are extremely spiked and delicious. Can't wait to go back soon.

I love the vibe of this place and the bright colors everywhere! Our service today was slower than normal but was still good. I ordered a chicken flauta and tostada but was given a chicken taco. I was on my work lunch break so I just ate it and it was delicious.

This place is huge and can hold a lot of people, but I appreciate that they're not trying to cram as much people in as possible. There is ample spacing between tables and walk ways. Although it was busy, we did not wait long at all. Even the food that we ordered came out pretty quickly! We ordered the chicken fajitas for two and regular size queso. The chicken fajitas for two was enough to feed my husband, me, and our two little boys. The tortillas were sooo good! The queso was decent. It's pretty expensive for the portion that you get. I thought the fajitas were alright as well. It was good, but I still wanted to dip it into something. I believe that a good fajita doesn't require any extra sauce. haha We also got the sopapillas for dessert and it was alright as well. Overall, I would rate the food as a 3.5 or 4 out of 5. However, the main reason why I gave a 5 star is because we had an AMAZING waitress. Her name is Sarah and LET - ME - TELL - YOU -ABOUT - HER. Sarah was literally smiling and cheery the ENTIRE time. She was not only like that when she was serving us, but she was even walking around like that. She was polite, friendly, patient, respectful, and just a delight to interact with. She was on top of things, too! We never had to ask her to refill anything because she automatically did it. I also love how she placed our dishes on the table. It was symmetrical and esthetic. The restaurant was also super loud but once when she was walking away and I called out her name, SHE HEARD ME. She was very attentive. Seriously, she was awesome. Come to Gringo's, not for the food, but for Sarah! lol

His service was timely, and his friendliness was wonderful. We have the fajitas which were not only an apple serving, but the beef chicken and shrimp were all very flavorful. Typical to fajitas it came with enough accompaniments to really really make Forray a wonderful meal. The serving is so ample that it became a takeout meal as well. The ambience is typical of Mexican restaurants. However, the people who we were dining with in the same small dining room were incredibly friendly and old-time customers of the Restaurant. I can't tell you how many years. But given the food and service, I understand why. I'm guessing because it was Cinco de Mayo. There was also a mariachi band and they were just wonderful and added to the venue considerably. If you're in or around Katie Texas, you really do need to stop here.

The beef fajitas were flavorful just as I'd hoped but the chicken was a bit dry. With the order we each get our own plate of rice and beans and choice of tortillas. The flour tortillas were delicious, almost like home made, so much so that I took the leftovers tortillas home to enjoy with butter. The highlight for me was the Skinny Margarita with my customization of adding a shot of Amaretto. I've been disappointed at other places because they never taste fresh, or have an extremely tart flavor, but the bartender had it down to a science because when I tell you from my first sip it was like heaven! To be clear, my intention in calling was not to leave a negative review, but simply to bring the matter to the restaurant's attention - privately. Unfortunately, the owner, Albert, was defensive throughout the call. He said things like, "I don't doubt that happened, but we've never had a complaint," and dismissed my experience rather than showing concern.
