So I sat at the bar, popping in for a margarita after shopping. Wow I've only been to the Sugarland Lupe Tortilla & who knew the atmosphere & menu would be so different! This spot is much smaller & broken up into rooms/sections. I didnt even look at the menu & I progressed to order my standard Black barrel margarita that I always order at my Sugarland Lupe Tortilla & they informed me they dont have it. They told me if I didnt want a frozen margarita which they had in the machines I needed to order the Margarita's that were on the menu. The bartender was friendly but the overall experience... the vibe & premium drink options were just off putting for me. My conclusion is that I will stick to my Sugarland location because all Lupe Tortillas are not created equal. read more

I must be the last person in Katy , Texas to dined here. In point of fact, it may have been here longer than half the subdivisions, but with good reason. The food, the ambience, and the service are all outstanding. We went for Cinco de Mayo and the restaurant was packed however, from what I understand, it is often packed. Let's start with our server who was just wonderful. He not only guided us through the meal and the drinks, but he had very practical recommendations. His service was timely, and his friendliness was wonderful. We have the fajitas which were not only an apple serving, but the beef chicken and shrimp were all very flavorful. Typical to fajitas it came with enough accompaniments to really really make Forray a wonderful meal. The serving is so ample that it became a takeout meal as well. The ambience is typical of Mexican restaurants. However, the people who we were dining with in the same small dining room were incredibly friendly and old-time customers of the Restaurant. I can't tell you how many years. But given the food and service, I understand why. I'm guessing because it was Cinco de Mayo. There was also a mariachi band and they were just wonderful and added to the venue considerably. If you're in or around Katie Texas, you really do need to stop here. read more

Then out of no where here comes RENE making sure I was well taken care of also. I ordered the rib appetizer. 3 delicious succulent ribs with fresh seasoned shoe string French fries. Barbecue sauce was impressive to flavoring. The meat fell off of the bone in my mouth and down my esophagus, almost feeling like a smooth piece of mouthwatering beef. The fries were so seasoned, fresh, hot and just the right amount of crisp. The taco esthetics are to perfection but flavoring is not it's best. I was not impressed at all. The beef was very bland but it was so pretty. It was not very tasteful at all. They need to add more seasoning or try another beef. The vegetables were very fresh and neatly cut. The beans and salsa given with the chips as complimentary was everything. The Salsa is very red, fresh and chunky. It has not spice at all and drowned in tomatoes. The sauce is so red that is makes you think the tomatoes were picked and chosen right outside the door. The beans are so flavorful and seasoned to perfection. As I was eating, Mayo my waiter asked if I mind moving over one seat to allow a couple to join us. Now mind you I was already eating. A part of me wanted to be angry but MAYO was so polite and kind with asking and the couple was grateful and appreciative as well. The lady next to me was welcoming as I had to move closer to her seat. The outside is very KID FRIENDLY as it has a unique LARGE sandbox. Someone has to take care of the kids. Lupe Tortilla is a staple in my household, but this Lupe doesn't quite hit the marks that Lupe typically does. The margaritas are all pre-poured (including the skinny), and just don't taste very fresh. The queso isn't quite up to snuff as other Lupe's either. She was helpful and she was nice and she was very professional. This establishment has a drive up in the back of the restaurant for her to go orders. The staff was so helpful and so kind and they were really concerned that your order was perfect. More restaurants need to have the customer service like this establishment. We ordered fajitas for two and the meat was hot and fresh and very well seasoned. The tortillas are off the chain amazing. You must try them. Everything on the side was well packed, a good amount of food, and it was all hot. The food here is so good and not overly seasoned. It was definitely a wonderful experience and we definitely will be coming back to this restaurant. I love Lupe's!! It's always yummy- very consistent! I moved away to a place that doesn't have Tex Mex, so of course, while in town visiting it's a must do! The queso and chips are delicious. Smooth cheese and light crispy chips. The beef fajitas were amazing. Their beef is tender and flavorful. The tortillas are the size of your face and made thin enough to not be too doughy but will hold your food in. The fajitas come with cheese and sour cream which you usually have to pay more for at other places so that's a plus. Service was great and friendly. It's a nice chill vibe. They were moderately busy for a Wednesday afternoon at 1:00PM, toward the end of the usual lunch rush. The flow of the restaurant is very odd, with lots of little rooms so it could be a little confusing which direction to head for the restroom or to even exit. The staff was very friendly. I ordered an Original Margarita (rocks) which was served nicely and just the right strength. The salsa was very fresh. I just was a little underwhelmed by my entrée. I wasn't offer a lunch menu and didn't see lunch specials on the menu. I ordered an entrée that featured grilled shrimp with peppers, tomatoes, onions, and Monterey Jack cheese. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I don't ever do this, but our experience was not great and actually was ruined by some made up drink policy. I came with a group of friends to celebrate my friend being pregnant with her first child. We had 1 margarita during happy hour and a small one with dinner. We continued the celebration and wanted to get another small drink . We were denied and the manager stated there was a "rule" of 2-3 drinks max. We loved coming to the patio and enjoying a drink and getting a bite to eat, but after the waitress spilled the drink all over the food and us and told us we couldn't get our food reordered because it would come out of her pay that was it for me. Lupe tortilla is one of the better Tex-mex spots I've been too so far. I've gone twice and definitely prefer the Missouri city location. Both times I got the fajitas with beef, chicken and shrimp. I wasn't disappointed at all. I will say the margaritas are super weak when I went and way too syrupy. I'll stick with a corona. I like the beans and salsa that come out first too. When we were seated and our drink order was taken, the young lady was cordial, but by the time our food order was taken, she must have gone on her break or there was a shift change, as she did not come back. Our server was busy and he made us feel it! After about a 45-minute wait, our food was brought out. We ordered beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas with all the sides that typically accompany them. The food was good, but nothing over the top. Candidly, I have had the same from a popular "red-peppered logo" american place that serves them. As far as the service, mami tasted a sauce the server said was not hot and it was extremely hot for her palate. We asked for milk and waited and waited and waited some more. The server never came back with the milk. Finally, we reached out to a bus boy who said they didn't have milk, but would bring sour cream and that would help. To our surprise, it helped her! Altogether, it was a hefty price tag for "authentic" Mexican food that was pretty ordinary. The facilities are spacious and pretty unique, but in all likelihood we will not return. read more
