"Do not" purchase gift cards for Lupe Tortilla restaurants! I purchased a gift card for the restaurant for a gift from HEB. When the recipient of the card attempted to use it, it showed to be invalid/no amount on new/unused card. It had evidently not been activated by the merchant (HEB). Even though the restaurant manager said they would send a new card directly from Lupe Tortilla to cover the amount that was supposed to be on the card, no action was ever taken, and customer never received a new card from the restaurant. I had unfortunately not saved the HEB receipt for the card by the time the gift recipient attempted to use it! This indicates very poor customer service by Lupe Tortilla since customer dines there very frequently and is known by the establishment! read more

Not really feeling this location and location does matter! Our waiter was a little slow and kept forgetting to bring items we requested! The pina colada drink and my strawberry margarita was sub par! I cant stand the icy cold chunks of salsa they give you and the beans you get with your chips when you get beans with your food! I ordered the pepper shrimp which is the most expensive on the seafood side of the menu and the six small shrimp wrapped in bacon that was super soggy! A scoop of dry rice and beans again was not worth the cost! I had to pull the bacon off the shrimp with the tail on because it was just too soggy! So basically i paid $22 for dissect 6 small shrimp and a only ate a little of the rice and beans because they were dry! Really felt like we waisted money! I don't know why this place has 3 stars, it was delicious! The salsa and beans free appetizer was delicious, the chips were this and crispy, and the queso was one of the best I've ever had. The burrito, cheese enchiladas, and Mexican pizza was ordered by my table, and we all left with empty plates. Our server was super friendly, and gave us great service. The parking was easy to get in and out of. There is even a covered sandpit play area with slides and stuff for the kids. I will totally come back here again! read more

He wanted me to bring the food back for a credit, when I said not today but I will another day, (I have lupus and thats the reason I ordered out and didn't pick up myself felt bad all day). The food was cold even the casadias, and not put together, the taco shell was crooked, I thought it might lay down or fold up when I heated it, but it kept it's odd shape, couldn't really figure out how to eat it, so here is sits. Lupe Tortilla isn't a perfect restaurant by any means. So why the 5? Lupe's has secured a permanent place in my heart as my absolute favorite place to go for fajitas since I was a kid, simple as that. My sister and I involuntarily MOAN when we learn we'll be visiting Lupe's and it's for a good reason. Their pico and charro beans are great for dipping their average chips into. We love their queso and they have good street corn, but we never remember to order it. We always, always, ALWAYS order beef fajitas because without a doubt in my mind I could tell you they are the best beef fajitas you will ever have. We always get some shrimp with extra seafood butter to dip into. Their refried beans and rice are serviceable. The beef is charred, limey, well-seasoned, and flavorful. Their corn and flour tortillas are made in-house and are the best of the best - Tortilla's literally their last name! The seafood butter they give to dip their shrimp into is incredible. You'll find me pouring a bit into my fajitas as I build them. Their molcajete (the dish they put all the fixings into) doesn't include sour cream, so we have to remember to order it for my Dad. So how are they imperfect? They're pretty expensive. There's a bit of a wait. And well, the service isn't always the greatest. I've never had above and beyond service here before. The best you can ask for is a server who brings you an accurate order, really. But I don't come here for service. I don't need it. I'm here for the fajitas; I don't know how else to say it, but I just don't care! I know those fajitas are going to put me into a food coma every time and there is no way I can say no. I love Lupe's. They have room for improvement, but their restaurant offers fajitas you can't get anywhere else. I double dog dare you to replicate them at home. I've been going to Lupe Tortilla since I was a kid and I can tell you its because of their charro beans and chips! HIGHLY recommend substituting your refried beans for charro beans (I know, don't freak out too much), or adding on a side charro beans and dipping your chips in it! I would typically give this location 5 stars but since the COVID-19 changes, every time my family has ordered pick-up, there is a minimum wait of 15-20 minutes AFTER they tell you it will be ready. You end up baking in the hot parking lot in your car waiting for your food. Essentially, they just need to change their pick-up time expectations and this issue would be solved. My go-to Order: - Charro beans... if you read above - Cheese enchiladas with green sauce - Classic and delicious - More charro beans... - House margarita - its pretty good. My family enjoys the food at Lupe tortilla's on grand Parkway but trying to get a table in a reasonable amount of time is damn near impossible. They need to fire the folks working the door and hire professionals who don't ask the wait staff how many people they can wait on or if they're happy or not with setting a table of eight. Tonight a 30 minute wait turn into a full hour as we watched every group go in except for hours I asked twice and was told nobody will leave so we don't have any room a few minutes later my daughter-in-law asked again and the manager looked at our wait time and said to the hostess "we got a set these people right now." Once they did seat us we walked by multiple tables that could've been put together for a party of five four adults and one child no problem. There was a table next to ours complaining that they would not seat a table of eight and I watched the manager argued with the customer instead of accommodating them. there was an empty room two steps away from the table they were sitting at with three tables they could've put together and had eight people in a single room by themselves. Lupe tortilla gets high marks for making excuses and apologizing but fails miserably and understanding the importance of making the customer happy and going the extra mile. My family really likes the food at Lupes and for the most part the wait staff is very pleasant but the management team is awful I'm sure this is a family owned family ran franchise read more

First we tried going last week, I understand Friday is a busy day but I called while In parking lot before I got my babies down, and they said wait time was 15 mins. Their steak lupe is what I always come for. Along with monster margaritas and nice pina colada's. If you come hungry at prime time be prepared for a long wait. They serve charro beans along with the traditional salsa with their chips. Be careful not to fill up on those. One of the better choices for Mexican food.
