It was pretty empty in a Saturday night so we were seated right away. Our waitress was really attentive and joking and light hearted. She was a delight! Our chips abs salsa bowl was constantly being refilled and the salsa was warm which I have never seen before. Our drinks were good. The pina colada was sweet and the margs were strong. I got the fish tacos. It was a huge plate and the fish was tender and well seasoned but I found a fish bone still in it. I stumbled upon this place driving by at dinner time. It has a lot of seating options and a bar with a little bit of seating there. Definitely a good place to come for a more relaxed dinner. The hostess was very friendly and got us seated quickly. The young boy bringing our drinks was quite slow but our server was excellent! Jose is a hard worker and very kind. First time trying the restaurant. The young lady was very helpful and we started with a Mexican shrimp cocktail that was great! Then to our main choice, she recommended two of her favorite items and I tried the Mayan chicken with poblano peppers. I wanted to try something new, so I came here yesterday for lunch. BIG mistake. Ordered the combination fajitas lunch special, and these were the worst fajitas I've ever had. Should have been suspicious when the food came out very quickly. My fajitas came out on a sizzling platter, except there was no smoke or sizzle. It tasted like the meat was microwaved, and both the steak and chicken were dry and overcooked. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but there are too many other Mexican restaurants in the area for me to give them another try. Sat down, got iced tea, and then waited over 12 minutes, while I watched one waitress stand by the checkout counter on her phone the entire time and watched the manager and the other two waitresses stand by the door just chitchatting and totally ignoring all customers. Impressed on ALL levels!!! Food was DELICIOUS! Took maybe 15 min for them to deliver -- fastest delivery I've ever received in my life! The overpriced fare is brought to your table by an indifferent server who checks their smart phone before answering you. We've been going here since they opened, pretty much weekly. Food has always been great and we love the waitstaff. However, this month (October 2023) I ordered chicken fajitas for one. I BARELY made two tacos out of it ($19.99). I would typically make two tacos and have leftover fajita meat. I made a comment to the waiter about the lack of fajita meat, thinking it was overlooked. However it sounds like the prices ticked up and they are purposely serving less meat. This is clearly an owner decision and is unfortunate. Labor Day lunch with my daughter and we were looking to try a Mexican food restaurant we haven't been to before. So after looking at the reviews I suggested we try this one. The first thing I noticed is a bar at the back of the restaurant that appeared disheveled and cluttered with place settings that weren't even aligned straight plus odd paper chains hanging that actually takes away from the decor. This isn't always bad as I have been in many places with similar decor but outstanding food quality. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately and served iced tea with chips and salsa red and green. The chips were a little stale and the salsa was lackluster. We were hungry and ate them anyway! The menu is extensive- overly so and it takes a while to review! I would cut it down significantly and focus on quality if I were management. I selected the el seis, a shrimp enchilada with a chicken or beef soft taco, rice and refried or charro beans. My daughter had ground beef enchiladas that also came with rice and the same selection of beans. My first impression was that the portions were a bit small but it was lunch so no big deal. The first sample of charro beans revealed that they were undercooked And crunchy.. surprising since it was already almost 1pm. I also found the shrimp to be canned or frozen, the chicken taco meat cooked okay but under seasoned. The rice was over cooked ( a little mushy). Overall I found the meal nothing to write home about and not worth the $8.99 price tag. My daughter confirmed her beans crunchy and under cooked and lacking taste. Her beef enchiladas were also undercooked with the meat slightly pink. And the rice mushy. Our bill was $22.90 I tipped for good service but we won't go back.. too bad but there are much better alternatives for lunch in Katy. read more

Compared to all the local Mexican food in the area this place takes the crown by far! This was my first time here and Carlos our server was very attentive and had great recommendations. The chips and salsa served were a great appetizer. We grabbed a Chile relleno, the Guadalajara taco plate, and Ñecas fajitas with chicken and steak. The fajitas came with handmade tortillas that were delicious. Overall, the food was extremely tasty and worth coming back for! My whole family has been coming to this location for over 5 years, so we have seen the different restaurants it has become. Ñecas is by FAR the best!! The customer service and food is 5 stars! I got the shrimp tacos and they were SO good. My husband get the stuffed avocado every time we go to a Mexican restaurant. He sadly didn't like his as much as mine. Next time he won't get the cheddar cheese inside and put a sauce on top. Other than that the habanero and cilantro lime sauce is SUBLIME! This is a place you'll drive right past - you can't see much from the outside. However, stop and check them out. The food is not pretentious, but it is wonderfully flavorful and plentiful. My wife had the fish tacos, with black beans and cilantro rice. I had the El Seis combo - shrimp enchilada and taco al carbon with habanero rice and charro beans. Everything was tasty and hot. Customer Service was outstanding. We never had to wait for drink or salsa refills. The waiters went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Prices were average for Sunday lunch. We drove by several times and decided to try so we came last Friday.We were seated right away as there weren't too many people at 5pm.At first I was sort of put out that there was live music-usually that means we can't hold a conversation because it's too noisy. However, we were seated across the room so not too bad. Would have preferred not to have music the whole time but the songs they played were cute and funny(Baby shark, Spongebob theme, Chicken dance, etc) Husband and I had margaritas,which were good and very strong and our son had a flavored ice tea which they brought in a margarita glass with sugar on the rim. He got a kick out of that. The chips and salsa (2 kinds red and green) were really good-not too spicy. For the main course, all 3 of us had the chimichangas with some sort of sauce over the top that had a unique taste.beef inside was tender but could have used a tad bit more char. For dessert we had a couple slices of the tres leches cheesecake. It was fairly good but still a bit frozen. All in all a good experience and we will be back. read more
