We came in on a lively Friday night. The place was almost full but we were able to get a table immediately. Chips and salsa were brought out within a minute or two and the server took our drink order right after. One salsa was a red salsa and one was a queso type of salsa. Both were ok but not good enough to fill up on before food arrived. I ordered a beer and others in my party ordered cocktails from the bright and extensive cocktail menu. If you like fun and fruity cocktails, you will enjoy this place! The server took our food order within 5 - 10 minutes after our drinks arrived and food came out almost immediately. I was surprised with how quickly the food came out! I am picky about molé, so I knew to order it would test this restaurant's meddle. The molé here is great! It had a mix of chocolatety and savory tastes that make a great molé. The portions are HUGE and I could barely finish my plate. Both the others in my party took leftovers. Despite feeling stuffed, we ordered the sopapillas for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and an ice cream sundae, which were ok. They were flat by the time they arrived to the table and lacked the light and airy texture you might expect. But, I didn't mind a sweet treat after a rich and savory meal! This restaurant really impresses with its speed of service, portion sizes, and taste of main dishes. Overall, I would recommend and return to this place. It's been a while since I've felt the need to leave a Yelp review - with kids and a busy life, this hobby of mine has taken a back seat. However, Neca's deserves a shout out. Service was the best we've had in a restaurant in a long long time. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, chips and salads within 30 seconds, drinks, and so on ... I felt like one of those scenes in a movie when the wait staff circle around the table and continuously fuss about the customer. It was impeccable. Food was also just as impressive and amazing. Ñecas is a really solid spot. The chips and salsa are good. I liked the queso. They served it with some flour tortilla chips. I had the pollo a la parilla which was very tasty and a big portion. Could easily be shared with someone. It's served with rice and beans. I asked for charro but they gave me refried and I didn't feel like bringing it up. It was still good. I have always loved Necas! It's our go to place and has always been amazing. Today was horrible. We went today, we left probably five minutes ago and I am beyond pissed at what happened. We found a hair in our queso, limes, rice, and guacamole! We also found some bright pink thing in our green sauce. When we told the server she looked at us like it was our fault and then brought the same chips back on a different plate. When we finally asked for a manager he was rude as hell to us. He brought out a steam of cilantro and proved us wrong saying that it was cilantro not hair!! Which yea it maybe was for the guacamole but the queso, my limes, and the sauce WERE NOT cilantro. They were beyond rude, they didn't show hospitality they showed hostility. I've never had such a bad experience with a restaurant nor manager in my life and I don't really want to return ever again!! Suggestion to owners/managers: Yes, we know this is a 'Mexican' place, and the whole thing about having an 'experience', but guys, you could ALSO have other kind of music. In our opinion it would even better if instead of that loud banda or regional music you can try something more general, pop-ballads in English, maybe even some Country music. Whatever: not sure that all your clients will enjoy their food and stay while you play that banda music. Of course, this is not only you, this is a common mistake in 95% of all Mexica restaurants. They have booth seating, table and chair seating plus a nice bar area. My friends raved about this place, so today, I was fortunate to tag along. What a gem! They serve warm red salsa and cool green salsa with the chips. I loved both! I ordered a sweet tea, and let me tell you, that was the best sweet tea I've had in a long time! They have breakfast until 12:00 pm (Sundays, at least) and it looked tasty. I ordered the tacos al carbon. The beef was tender and seasoned exceptionally well. The rice and beans were also terrific. I think we had 4 people helping us the whole time, even though they were clearly very busy.
