My visit to Ferso's was a very positive experience. The restaurant is located in a corner of small shopping strip weirdly a few steps away from a larger Tex Mex eatery. I was somewhat surprised by how very bright the lighting was in the dining room. Our server was soft spoken and friendly and patient while we sorted out the menu. They only serve beer and wine so cocktails lovers beware. I did try a wine based margarita which wasn't bad. The food was very good but surprisingly pricey for simple dishes. I really enjoyed the Carne Asada which was tender and flavorful. If I was a "local" for this neighborhood , I'd return to try them again.

When you want something different but delicious this is the place to go. More traditional than texmex. Stars is friendly and attentive. Place is tucked away so it is bit of a hidden treasure.

Very authentic Mexican food! The tres leches cake was delicious--light, moist, and not overly sweet. I ordered the enchilada trio, which was a great way to sample three different sauces and flavors, and each one was spot on. Service was excellent; the owner personally checked on guests throughout the meal, which added a welcoming touch. The younger staff could use a bit more training, checking on us. Overall, this is definitely a go-to spot for a satisfying Mexican dinner

    Queso Fundido

This is the WORST queso I've ever had! I live 5 minutes away and opened the queso - it was all gelled together and the chorizo was unrecognizable! Nothing authentic about this place at all. And they are expensive! I truly wish I could give them a negative 10 rating!

Excellent local food. Give it a try if you are in the area. The flavors for all our dishes was spot on. Lots of intricate spices and portions. Definitely worth a try and away from the chain stores.

I started off with the fresh guacamole, you could taste the lime fresh lime juice in it. Very fresh very amazing! Then I had the chicken enchilada with Mole, probably one of the best i have had here in the Katy area. I love this place. Can't wait to try more items.

KATY, TX 77494 / MEXICAN / 12-20-23 / TAKEOUT DINNER -The owner operator is stingy with the sauces. If a customer orders two entrees and two kid's meals, we should get more than 1 set of sauces. -The prices are kind of high for tacos (~$5 each). -The food was salty. What we ordered: 2 kids tacos $14.00 1 taco al pastor $14.00 1 mixed tacos $15.00 Total: $46.56 post-tax

Ambiance: bright, welcoming and clean. Spacious eating area with lots of seating options - small to larger tables and booths. Also has a large bar area as well. Service: super friendly and nice. Water refilled often and came to check on our table to bring things we needed. We came late in the evening and there were about three other families there with us. Parking was harder because of Texas Border's people, but overfill could go towards the Goldfish swim side. Food: We loved the flavors of the salsa and thickness and crisp of the chips. Would definitely recommend for this alone. They refill the chip bowl and salsa as often as you need it to be filled. I ordered the birria taco plate and my husband got thr enchiladas Verde. We also ordered the queso appetizer that came with three corn tortillas. The cheese was good, but was melted cheese on a hot plate that got super toasted on the bottom and coagulated fast. It may have been better if you added chorizo, but wasn't to our tastes. I have heard that a lot of people liked it, but we only ate it with the chips and I stuck some in my birria. The tacos were stuffed to the brim and were very flavorful. I liked it best with the consumme and felt that it would not be as good without that. The enchiladas weren't as hot as it could have been (but we like them burning hot to be all melty) and looked like it should have been more flavorful than it was. The beans were really good. I did not try to rice so I am not sure how they were. Overall, I do like the food, but would probably try something different next time. For the three items, our meal came to be around $60 before tip. They have pretty high reviews on the Katy Fort Bend food groups so we will give it another try and try some of the other foods.

Can someone specify where this is located? We drove to the mall specifically for this place and couldn't find it.

So you want to park in Lot 8. The main entrance to the AMC. Once you're inside the mall through entrance 8 and head left. You'll see the movies on your left. And you'll pass a cookie place and a tiny donut shop on the right. Keep walking past that… Read more

It had clumpy cheese and the lettuce tasted to straight up cold fridge. My wife, also Mexican, got a menudo, she LOVES menudo. She said it tasted sugary like someone added sugar to it. Menudo does not have sugar in it. Someone must confused the salt for the sugar. Customer service was mid. Lady was nice but couldn't take a hint that I needed a small bowl for my kid to share the menudo. Chips looked like they were straight from the bag. Green sauce was watered down. Red sauce tasted like store bought sauce. Restrooms were bad... water everywhere, no caution sign. Not good... I recommend going to "La Cocina Mexican Restaurant" that is down the road. They serve really great Mexican type food!

As I said, what I am reviewing now is a catered event, so we weren't at the restaurant. The food was delivered and set up promptly. Opening the trays gave us a wonderful smell of fresh, delicious food! The fajitas never got tough or stringy, even as they cooled. They were in a wonderful broth that was not greasy, but full of flavor. The chips and salsa were so fresh! Even now, almost 4 days later, those chips are still crisp (we had a lot of leftovers to take home). Everyone wanted to know who catered and they all had something good to say about each portion of the meal. One loved the sour cream so much, he took home 2 quarts of it. We had several compliments and I wish I had grabbed a few of their business cards to give to people. The only downside wasn't really a downside for us. There was so much food! After selling plates to go, we still had leftover food. Everyone loved it and had plates to take home afterward. In my book, that's a huge success. Thank you all so much!

This review is based solely on an Uber Eats pickup experience…read more I was doing Uber Eats and stopped by to pick up an order. Since it was my first time there, I wasn't familiar with the pickup process. There was a family sitting in the lobby, and when an employee came to the front, he greeted them and asked if they had been helped... meanwhile I was standing right there in front of him. After speaking to them, he put his head down and started looking through something without ever acknowledging me. I waited a moment to see if I'd be acknowledged, but I wasn't. Eventually, I stepped closer and asked where I could pick up the order. He dismissively pointed around the corner. That was issue #1. Issue #2: when I got to the pickup area, employees were moving in and out of the kitchen and walking throughout the restaurant, but no one stopped to acknowledge me. NOT ONE person. I waited another 7 minutes (yes, I timed it) before someone finally asked, "What do you need?" Not, "hi, how can I help you?" But, "what do you need?" As a delivery driver, the expectation is to be able to come in, grab the order, and go. Instead, I felt completely invisible. I won't be returning to this establishment. To management: please train your staff on basic customer service and acknowledgment. A simple "we'll be right with you" would have made a huge difference.
