This review is based solely on an Uber Eats pickup experience. I was doing Uber Eats and stopped by to pick up an order. Since it was my first time there, I wasn't familiar with the pickup process. There was a family sitting in the lobby, and when an employee came to the front, he greeted them and asked if they had been helped... meanwhile I was standing right there in front of him. After speaking to them, he put his head down and started looking through something without ever acknowledging me. I waited a moment to see if I'd be acknowledged, but I wasn't. Eventually, I stepped closer and asked where I could pick up the order. He dismissively pointed around the corner. That was issue #1. Issue #2: when I got to the pickup area, employees were moving in and out of the kitchen and walking throughout the restaurant, but no one stopped to acknowledge me. NOT ONE person. I waited another 7 minutes (yes, I timed it) before someone finally asked, "What do you need?" Not, "hi, how can I help you?" But, "what do you need?" As a delivery driver, the expectation is to be able to come in, grab the order, and go. Instead, I felt completely invisible. I won't be returning to this establishment. To management: please train your staff on basic customer service and acknowledgment. A simple "we'll be right with you" would have made a huge difference. read more

BEWARE!!!!!!!!! ! If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. I visited this restaurant with my family and out-of-town guests, expecting to have a great experience. Unfortunately, we discovered that the tip was already included, yet an additional $30 was charged to our credit card. Although the overcharge was refunded after we contacted the restaurant, the situation was very concerning. Adding an extra charge after gratuity was already included feels deceptive and raises serious questions about the restaurant's billing practices. I can't help but wonder how many other customers may have been charged incorrectly and never noticed. I strongly encourage everyone to carefully review their receipts and credit card statements after dining here. What should have been a nice meal with family and guests ended with a loss of trust and a very disappointing experience. I will never recommend this place and will not be returning. read more

Pablo's offers very good food and drinks consistently from one visit to another. My most recent experience was the Mahi Mahi fish tacos with red cabbage. I love this fish but this one was a little overcooked and dry. The seasoning drives the flavor making it acceptable and a good dish. However, the cilantro rice had no flavor and adding salt at the table couldn't rescue the dish. The service is fast but our server was very mechanical focused more on execution than customer service. I like Pablo's but the busy periods with large crowds makes it less favorable. read more

Another great experience for Father's Day. Our waiter so kind as to grab an umbrella and walk my mom and me to the car because it started pouring randomly when we left. Food is always great! Bad from the moment we walked in. No one was interested in taking our drink order or giving chips when we sat down. Probably took 15 min for someone to come by, and that was after we asked about it. Then our waitress asked us if we were in a hurry... very rude. The restaurant closes at 9 and we walked in a little after 8pm. I guess that was unacceptable? Took forever to get drinks from the bar and then our waitress ended up having to make the drinks herself. Then we felt rushed to finish our food. She started taking plates off of our table as soon as she could. We were then told last call for any drinks from the bar, which was fine, we were finished. But about 15 minutes later another group ordered drinks from the bar, no problem. I definitely felt like they have certain favorites when it comes to customers. My friend decided she wanted to come to this restaurant because it is her favorite spot and she wanted to celebrate her birthday. She had spoken so much about it I was excited to come. Open arrival in the evening we were greeted by staff food smelled good so I was excited. The location has plenty of parking as it is liked in a plaza. The ambiance was clean and the bar was pretty big. We ordered a chicken quesadilla, beef chimichanga, and I ordered the Puebla which had shrimp and habanero glazed shrimp. My beef on the plate was well seasoned and but the glaze on the shrimp was a lil too spicy. Everything else was fresh. I was disappointed that my friend ordered her chimichanga and the waiter brought out chicken was suppose to be beef then when it finally came out there was a long hair strand in the food. Then the third time she just kept it cause she didn't want to cause any trouble. We all ordered a margaritas I ordered the top shelf which was good. Overall it was my first time and the time it took to receive the chimichanga and the inexperience of the waiter not knowing the items and various substitutions on the menu was disappointing. I'm just concerned on the cleanliness of the kitchen. I had such high expectations on the spot. I'd tell people to give it a try as I'm not sure if I'd should come back. My husband and I ate at Pablo's this evening and both agreed on two things: first, it was the WORST service we have experienced in a very long time, and second, we will not be going back. When Pablo's opened, they seemed to have extremely high standards for service and food quality. Our server this evening gave us water one single time, did not refill our chips and salsa when it was clearly empty, and also forgot to give us a missing silverware set-up and a food item we ordered - even after reminding him of it. He also never asked how the food was, and did not come to the table once other than to ask what we wanted to drink, drop off our food, and give us the check. No pre-bussing of appetizers or the empty chips and salsa occurred either. It was truly awful and like this person both had zero training nor did he care to try to do a decent job. There also appeared to be no manager other than a kitchen manager on duty. After our prior visit here had subpar service as well, we have decided we will not be returning. Walked in around 7pm with wife, kids, and in laws. No one greeted or seated us. We sat around for a few minutes trying to get the attention of anyone working there to no avail. Realizing we would not be seated, I had to walk to the back and let them know there was no one at the hostess desk (From the look I was given, I'm assuming the hostess desk up front is supposed to be unoccupied) Then I was asked "how can we help you?" A bit strange considering this establishment is a restaurant. I didnt think I had to let them know that we are here to eat dinner. Anyways, we are then guided to a table by another employee and we noticed almost every single booth is open and asked if we can sit in one of those. He said to give him a minute and walked away. The entire family now are just standing next to people eating, waiting for this guy to come back. Once he comes back he did not allow us to pick which table to sit at. He guided us to the other side of the restaurant and put us in a far away corner. At this point, it just seemed like they did not want our business. Our server was pretty much nonexistent. The plus side was that he smiled and was somewhat friendly. From walking in and getting our food was about 35 minutes. The sizzling plate came out without any sizzle and was room temperature. Food was overall okay but the poor experience definitely did not help. It would have been nice to have picked our table since the vibe was much more alive on the other side of the restaurant compared to being stuffed into the corner by the bar. If we sat where we wanted, maybe we would have seen our server more than twice. All of us wanted dessert but agreed it would have been too difficult to order and we did not want to be left hanging here for another half an hour. Luckily I was able to find and flag down our server before we were done eating to get the check so that we wouldn't need to sit around for a while when we were ready to go. Have gotten food here to go almost every time Im craving texmex (since it's 5min away from home) but this was my first time dining here. The waitress was nice and attentive, she gave my daughter flour play dough and that kept her quiet the wholeeeee time! While I don't frequent Pablo's as much as my parents, we've been coming to this establishment since it opened in 2017. They LOVE this place. Never in all our years of coming here have we had a server like Jayden, and I do NOT mean that in a good way. I don't think he made eye contact with our three table top once. Not only did he forget our drinks at the bar, which we weren't upset about, but there wasn't an apology. When serving our food he's setting it down without a care, my dads tortilla soup damn near spilled out the bowl. Not one table touch after our first bite of food. We didn't see him until he sat the check at our I will be sure to ask the host to not be sat in his section again. He is no FOH personnel. We needed water refills but it took a while to get them. The chips and salsa were plentiful, although the salsa was warm which I was not expecting. The veggie enchiladas were underwhelming. The sauce on top I wished was creamier, the filling was missing substance and overall was kind of a lackluster dish. Excellent food and excellent service! Since its in the neighborhood, we just hopped in for a casual weekday dinner fix. Really impressed by their service right from when we entered. They just turned our casual lazy dinner out to a sweet fine dining experience. Kudos for that! Their margaritas were so on point with a touch of spice on the rim, loved it. They have some of the best quesadillas in town. They are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, loaded with fresh and flavorful ingredients. Grilled salmon salad was okay. Pablo's is my absolute favorite restaurant in Houston! Customer service is always great! A very clean and lively, but cozy hang out spot. My favorite thing to order is the Puebla fajitas. That pineapple habanero sauce and melted garlic butter combo is everything . The meltdown is also the best margarita I've ever had. read more

Plato de Jaime ($19) - crawfish enchilada (+$1), fish taco (+$2) and chicken tamale, rice, and refried beans. Everything was delicious. It was pretty cool that you could choose any enchilada and any taco from the menu to round our the combo, even with the upcharge. The piece of fish within the taco was huge and well seasoned, with plenty of toppings and a good sauce. I really liked the crawfish enchilada, even though it was slightly saltier than the rest of the dish. The tamale was just ok and was saved by the salsa. The kids' quesadilla plate came with one large flour tortilla stuffed with (yellow) cheese and cut into thirds. The fruit cup consisted of cubed green apples, pineapple, a couple of red grapes, and diced oranges. The kids loved the quesadilla, but did not eat the fruit cup. More for us parents! My husband ordered the Cajun chicken dish and liked it. There were lots of semi-grilled onions on the plate under all of the cheese. It wasn't too crowded in the middle of the week in the evening, but it is always packed on the weekends. There is tons of seating inside for both tables and booths and different rooms sectioned off of one another. The open concept kitchen is at the back of the restaurant and you can (kind of) see the workers back there creating your meals. We've been loyal regulars at Pablo's for quite some time, but my birthday dinner yesterday was an unfortunately disappointing experience--arguably the worst service we've ever had here. The issues started with the lack of attentiveness from our waiter. He didn't refill our water or chips a single time until we had to ask after he brought out our meals. Speaking of the food, while everything tasted delicious (as usual), the beans on all three meals were cold when they arrived. When we asked about it, instead of explaining or addressing why the food wasn't warm in the first place, he just brought out warm refried beans--which were fine, but it didn't solve the bigger issue of a long wait for lukewarm food. Throughout the entire meal, the waiter only came to our table three times: once to take our order, once to deliver the food, and once to hand us the receipt. That's it. At a sit-down restaurant, a little more attentiveness should be the bare minimum, especially when celebrating a special occasion. This is the second time we've had below-average service at Pablo's, which is frustrating because the food itself is always fantastic. Hopefully, this is addressed soon because it's getting harder to justify coming back when the service doesn't match the quality of the food. read more

The soup was good, it could have been cooked with more salt and seasoning. We don't do salty food, however, this needed it. 5 stars. Great experience. The wait staff was kind & accommodating and the food was fantastic. I actually tried to return the following day, but our schedule just wouldn't let me be great. The steak!!!! It's amazing. Probably the most tender & most flavorful I've EVAH eaten. Just wow! The margaritas are loaded!! You only need 1. I actually had to ask for more watermelon juice for mine because I'm a lightweight and I was driving. Good to know that they allow take-out liquor in Texas. FOOD/DRINKS: I came in with a group during a weekday during their lunch time on two separately occasion and ordered off from their lunch menu. We were seated right away. I ordered Veggie Enchilada and Chicken Enchilada: both came with bean and rice. Between the two, I enjoyed the Veggie Enchilada more though. I thought it was descent for the amount of food for lunch. SERVICE: Service is really, really slow like it took about 30 minutes to get food and waiting about another 30 minutes after finishing eating just to get our bill (after asking for the bill) for both times.
