I have only been here once since I don't live close to it, just throwing that out there. I came for my nephews birthday party. I got there around 430pm and it was relatively empty, but that changed pretty quickly. My brother had what looked like an event room reserved, so we were there and had two dedicated waiters. They were both very attentive and nice. The chips and salsa were always stocked and the salsas were both good. I'm a green salsa guy but I actually thought their red was better. I did order their house queso with ground beef and thought it was just ok. I love queso and this one just didn't have much flavor IMO. I didn't order an entree and just had that with a bunch of water. My wife ordered a small mango margarita and it was indeed small, but packed a punch according to her. She ordered the chile relleno which was very big and came with rice, beans, and guac. She enjoyed it and took the leftovers home. If I ever go back I'll try out an entree. read more

The praline and green salsa was the best part of my experience after having remembered visiting the now closed highway 6 location decades ago. Honestly, I can't recall whether they were good then or not. Regardless, this isn't even about comparing them to nostalgia. Just objectively, the flavors are not appetizing at all. What they call Chili Con Queso tastes like Velveta mixed with Kraft American Cheese. The Prickly Pear Martini was not worth the trouble and the waiter who served me needed to be flagged down for me to say anything to them after placing my order. They also messed up my bill after telling them I did not recieve Beef Fajita rather than Ground Beef, because they still charged for it. When the manager came by, he was able to reverse the transaction, but there was no option to tip. Texas has far too many places for Tex-Mex for this experience quality. I did enjoy the transparency of the kitchen on that side of the restaurant, and the overall vibe is nice. After that, it's all unpleasant. read more

We love the choices of salsa that comes with the chips. The fajitas are some of the very best in the area. Unfortunately it took 20 minutes for our server to take our order. Late Post: Almost forgot to post my pics of my dining experience this Tex Mex restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised how good the fish tacos were and food overall. Chips & salsa were free not sure if they are freshly made my edible. The queso with chorizo was really good. They have a large menu of options as this is a big restaurant that can host large parties. The service was good overall but it wasn't that crowed during the week day and will try it again on the weekend. I felt the food and overall typical Tex Mex nothing amazing but really good. For the location there is a higher cost as the restaurant is newer with nice decor and probably used for events. Keep in mind that it can serve large parties as well. Also, they have a lovely outdoor space to dine when the weather is nice. Try it for yourself for dinner with friends and family as prices were fair for quality of food being served. read more

Lunch today was a terrific experience. There were four plus a toddler, and we were seated at a nice corner booth. We had fajitas for two (beef and chicken), fish tacos (two different preparations), and everything was excellent. These were the best fajitas I ever had anywhere. Rice, beans, chips, salsas, guacamole, all very good. Kevin our waiter was pleasant, responsive, and great to talk to. It was also a good value. Plenty of free parking out front. I am not sure why some people like this restaurant. I had a poor quality experience. I've been in the past and never liked it but a friend wanted to meet here for dinner so I went. The chips were stale, I asked for new ones which were also stale. I ordered a grilled chicken dish and was given someone's salad then a waiter came and grabbed it right from the table and said it was the wrong meal and my food came out 5 minutes later without an apology or anything. The dish itself was 5 small strips of grilled chicken with a pile of squash and zucchini. That is not worth $17. I genuinely would have enjoyed Taco Bell more. I called in an order to-go. I ordered the puffy tacos and black bean empanadas. The empanadas were absolutely delicious--crispy on the outside and packed with flavor. For the last 25 years,the Molina family has been cooking up wonderful Tex-Mex dinners. Today's Easter dinner for a family of 13, was no exception! We ordered William's Plate and was HUGE enough to share. (Berly's Burrito is also exceptional!). Excellent cheese enchiladas! My nephew (pictured) got a quail and enchilada plate. He was trying to make the quail do the Macarena! Dayana and Rapa ran their respective tails off to make sure out plates and palates were satisfactorily fulfilled. Be sure to try their green salsa and their onion/carrot relish. Both are favorites. Lots of parking, smiling staff and... did I mention their margaritas? Oh my! One should do ya! Came for a quick lunch with co-workers, and this was the perfect place! The lunch menu provides many options to choose from. Upon arrival, we received a basket of chips and a wonderful set up of many dips: medium and hot salsa as well as some sort of avocado dip. All sauces were flavorful, and the chips were perfect - not too thick or thin, not oily at all. I ordered the lunch enchiladas, which came with a choice of beans (black, charro, refried), and side of rice. Plenty of food for lunch! I couldn't finish it all. Service was quick, and we appreciated that for our lunch hour. Ambiance was very nice on the inside. I would come back again for a dinner with friends or a date night! Like all good texmex, Molina's has a full menu and great margaritas. Absolutely enjoyed it! We ordered for the first time from this location just earlier today (ahead of Beryl) and everything was delicious and portions were fantastic! Such a breath of fresh air to find a decent tex-mex restaurant anywhere outside of South and Southeast Houston. We ordered via DoorDash and got the Molina's beef tacos (Tacos A La Molina), the original Jose's Dip, and some sides of Pico De Gallo. Everything arrived as ordered and was fantastic. The salsa that came with the order was great. A nice kick to it as well with heat that rose rapidly, climaxed, and relinquished quickly as well. Was like a small firecracker of heat with delicious flavors. Jose's dip was great! Both my wife and I really enjoyed it. Had a tiny bit of heat to it as well which was unexpected but welcomed. The tacos were incredible - LARGE portions of beef, lettuce, and tomato. So many establishments give meager portions these days so it was refreshing to see tacos provided with plenty of ingredients. Everything tasted fresh and was delicious. I see that some have had some major issues with food quality, so do not not want diminish the experience everyone else had but ours was nothing short of perfect. Do be advised that they do not shy way from heat in their salsa but again, it's a quick rise of heat that goes away shortly thereafter. Much better IMO than bland, water-runny salsas so many other restaurants provide. I cannot speak to the establishment itself nor the service provided by the staff there. So my review here in no way reflects on these aspects of the experience but my wife and I do hope to come in sometime in the coming weeks. Really enjoyed it...ALL of it! read more

The food at Molinas is great, and the service is always on point. The manager Tony is an absolute gentleman who takes pride in the Molinas legacy - making the rounds to check in on each and every table; stepping in personally wherever he sees a need and/or opportunity... We are thrilled to have them here in Fulshear having frequented the original location on Westheimer when we lived in the area many years ago. Whether it is the "Nancy Ames" Nachos, Fajita Quesadillas, Chipotle shrimp, or the legendary Enchiladas de Tejas (which did not last long enough for a photo this evening) ... the food is solid across the board. The salsa variety is also above and beyond - two variations of red, green, and escabeche complement the overall experience. They need new cooks and waiters that communicate orders better to the cooks. Horrible experience. Unless they get better chips and better cooks they won't be around long. First of all, this is TEX-MEX, not at all Mexican. To their credit, they do market it as TexMex. Food is very forgettable, nothing popped, nothing tasted great. The margarita on the rocks was REALLY bad. It tasted like dishwater. Severs were friendly and accurate but seemed very new to the job or didn't understand us right away. I recently discovered the Fulshear location, on the route between my "city house", and my "country house". Having eaten at the Westheimer location since I was a toddler (~60 years), Molina's is my "gold standard" for Tex-Mex. My son did the same at the Buffalo Speedway, and later Bellaire locations. My favorites are the Molina's Combination, and Tacos a la Molina. The original vinegar based salsa is my favorite. We eat at the Fulshear location frequently. A few months ago, they changed the queso to be a little spicier, and it was excellent. Last week, they returned to their traditional queso which is just melted cheese and tastes almost like the one from a can that they use at little league sports games. It has no flavor. The service was slow and our waiter forgot several things. Had to ask him multiple times to refill our drinks and get us more chips & salsa. Yikers. I rarely (never?) given one star. We were headed to a neighboring restaurant but that strip mall had lost water service. So we thought we'd try here, as we've been talking about trying it. First, the hostess, steph, was very professional. Another customer was extremely rude to her but she remained polite and professional. He was barking at her bc she needed him to repeat how many children's menus they needed at their large table. We (3) of us ordered margaritas, queso (it's not good. No spice just a glob of cheese) and 3 entrees. All 3 entrees were off the menu, nothing special about the orders. And every single order was wrong-missing beans, no cheese and wrong beans and no rice. It was very odd. Very. It took forever to flag down a server to have them bring us the missing/correct items, that are listed on the menu. Odd. The food is meh. The margaritas are strong but meh. The chips were great. The other thing to know, if you have kids, this is the place for you. It is sorta like a loud chuck e cheese. There were several tables with very loud kids. And a few were running around. Now this is parenting issue and not the restaurant's fault. But just know that if you don't have youngins. There were also a few obnoxious adults too, of course (same tables as the kids so not surprising). There are MANY Mexican restaurants that are WAY better for food, service and just a relaxing, peaceful evening. read more

Husband said the Mexican Hot Plate combo was awesome as well, but said there was just a bit too much of the chili con carne on the tamale. The ambiance is nice and authentic, and it is Cantina style. The food, however, was not impressive at all. The chips and queso were good, but the chips were thick and lacked flavor. I had a dish that was not melted cheese but cheese that had sat for a while on the heat lamp. Others in the group weren't impressed with their dishes either. The manager stopped at tables to get feedback but repeatedly skipped our table, so now here's the feedback. More flavor, not spicy, just flavor to your food products, and get them from under the heat lamp in time. read more

Ok, first kudos to whom ever does the hiring and training. The staff was very friendly as soon as we walked in. It was a busy Saturday dinner crowd, clean and hopping. Plenty of young people hustling and keeping an eye on their customers. Our server Luis was very courteous and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful. The food took a while to get to us, but considering the good crowd, it made sense. So my favorite basic dish, which is my litmus test for any Tex-Mex joint is the cheese enchiladas, basic, but done well, is great comfort food. How do you goof this up? Well, when you count on the heat from the topping to cook the tortilla, or at least heat it up, that's when you get a tortilla that tastes like one out of a package. Very dry, almost brittle, that texture contradicts the smooth and yummy melted blanket of chili, cheese and onions. Then there was the meat from the chili. Very bland, almost fearing to be notice by my taste buds. I root for these family establishments, especially for these hard working folks that make everything run. Meh. I ordered the Baja tacos and they were by far the saddest excuse for a taco I've ever had. The fish is definitely some cheap frozen crap...I mean they were TERRIBLE. My husband ordered the Cancun platter and the shrimp was not fresh at all. My tacos were around 16.00 and his 'platter' was 24.00....for real? We expected much better food.
