Tom yum soup base and spicy tallow (ridiculously spicy and oily)
    Robyne D.

I'm uncertain how to rate my experience, because we left feeling bamboozled. When we entered the host asked us what menu we wanted. We explained it was our first time in and he nodded and seated us. Our waitress came over with an iPad and hurried away and said she'd be back. It took a while so we went ahead and ordered the base soups from the iPad, but when the waitress came back she explained how the order was already in and can't be canceled so we couldn't order the deluxe set menu. Which was disappointing, because the cost has now increased significantly. Then she talked us into the dancing noodles, which we agreed on because it was our birthday dinner. Unfortunately, she came back to say it wasn't available because the chef was not working. At this point we should have just left. We ordered lamb, meat, tofu, fish balls, beef tendon balls, assorted vegetables and mushrooms as well as the sauce bar. Food was great, a fun experience with the robot and cooking at the table. Everything was fresh and well organized. I just wish that we were informed of the deluxe menu vs the pick and choose. We left there paying about $150 with tip for 2 people. Tried to email the management as offered, but the email address does not appear to exist as I got a Failure Notice immediately.

Introducing to my American to eat hotpot and they love it. They haven't had Asian hotpot before and they live by Katy area. Food was good as usual but the prices did go up a lot. Overall we like it

I had seen so these reels pop up and gift packs for your visit to haidilao. You must get the dancing noodles. It's a whole production and definitely worth the cost. The food and pork was good. The fish balls and shrimp balls were definitely fun with a burst of flavor. Though watch out because to does get very hot and you can easily burn your tongue.

Amazing food with a huge variety of options, it was so hard to choose that we ended up ordering a little of everything, and it was all delicious. The service was outstanding; the staff went above and beyond to explain the menu and suggest great pairings. They were especially kind and patient with our kids, which we truly appreciated. The restaurant has a very modern vibe and honestly feels like stepping into China. Everything was clean, including the bathrooms. If you're looking for a fun, family‑friendly dining experience, this is definitely the place. We'll absolutely be back!

Whenever I'm craving hot pot in Katy, Haidilao is the place I go to. It's usually busy, but I've never had to wait more than 30 minutes for a table. The inside of the restaurant is brightly lit, and the mix of music and chatter creates an inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive! They provide aprons, wet wipes, and even hair ties for guests with long hair. They also offer complimentary snacks and appetizers to start your hot pot journey off right. Throughout the meal, they come by often to clear empty plates, which I really appreciate. One thing I love most about Haidilao is their extensive menu. There is so much to choose from! You place your orders on the iPad provided, which is super convenient. Their portions are generous, and I like that some menu items come in a half portion. It makes it easier to try more dishes without committing to a full serving. I highly recommend their spicy pork soup base. I get it every time I'm there! It has the perfect level of spice that stimulates your appetite. I also love their dynamite lobster balls. They have a sweet filling that pairs well with the savory hot pot ingredients. Haidilao also offers a great sauce bar where you can create your own dipping sauce. And don't forget to end your dinner on a sweet note with vanilla and/or chocolate ice cream from the ice cream machine! Although Haidilao is on the pricier side for hot pot, the delicious food, the wonderful service, and the overall experience make it absolutely worth it.

General: A Chinese Hotpot located in Katy Asia Town. À la carte style, not AYCE. Good: - Clean - Friendly staff - Has private rooms. (requires minimum order amount) - Menu offers a variety of items including pork brain and duck blood. (not sure if I would order that again but I like to try everything once) - You can create your own sauce at the bar with different bases. Bad - Parking is a hassle during busy times. Side note: - Reservation is recommended during peak times. - Chinese hotpot is different than Japanese style shabu shabu. Not really my style of hotpot but I would go again.

Excellent service, true to Haidilao's reputation - staff are attentive to every little detail, and they even do a noodle-pulling dance performance right at your table, which is a fun touch. The soup base options are great, you can split the pot into different flavors, ingredients are fresh, and the me

Really solid hot spot with great customer service. They have a sauce bar, which is extra, that allows you to create custom dipping sauces. The sauce bar also holds decent sides such as edamame and chicken. I definitely recommend you get any version of their Tom Yum hotpots. Be aware some of their spicy hotpots are mouth-numbingly spicy. Be sure to ask before ordering. Their ordering is done thru their tablets and makes your experience so much easier. I'll definitely be back in the future.

Haidilao exceeded all of my expectations. It was such a fun and memorable dining experience! It's easily one of the best hot pot restaurants I've been to. They offer tea and snacks while you wait which was a nice touch. The decor is playful and cute. There are secret phrases you can say to get little freebies. It added to fun. Service was super attentive and friendly. The menu and ordering is on an iPad. You can get up to 4 different broths. We got the spicy pork bone broth, tom yum, tomato and golden. The spicy pork bone broth and tom yum were my favorites. They were so rich and flavorful. After cooking all of the meat and veggies in the broth, it becomes even more delicious. The tomato was also good but not spicy. The golden broth was very plain so I probably wouldn't order that one again. The noodle dance is a must order! it's both entertaining and delicious. The sauce bar was a little overwhelming at first, but you can customize your sauce any way you like. They also had edamame, fruit and some other side dishes at the sauce bar. The soft serve ice cream at the end was way better than I expected with plenty of toppings to add. There's plenty of free parking. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun and interactive dining experience. I will definitely be back!

Haidilao is a great hot pot spot, lots of broths to choose from and plenty of meats as well. The sauce bar has a ton of ingredients and I love the dancing noodles. Not just fun but the thick cut noodles are super good!

Seen this world famous hotpot chain around the country. Finally decided to give this one on Katy/Houston area a try. Came on a Friday at lunch time and somehow got in with a minimal wait, but the restaurant was packed! All ordering is done on a tablet. Quite honestly, it can be confusing if you are coming for the first time. You basically order everything a la carte... the base soup (plain hot water, or a variety of soup bases like Tom yum, pork bone broth, etc), your veggies, proteins, noodles, and so on with individual prices for everything. Oh, and there's a per person charge for the Appetizer/Sauces/Dessert Bar as well. They had some combo and all you can eat specials advertised, but we were told they were out of most specials except for an all you can eat (protein) lunch combo for $19.99 per head which included fatty beef, chicken, fish, tofu and shrimp paste. Everyone in your party has to participate of any one person wants the unlimited special. I was told the "unlimited" special actually means up to 10 of any one item for our group of 4 that we ordered within 2 hours of being seated. The fatty beef that came with the special was REALLY fatty. The chicken, fish, tofu and shrimp paste were good. Each person picked their own soup bases so we tried plain (water with some dates and gojo berry), Tom yum, mushroom, and pork bone broth. The flavor soup bases tasted fine, but the server did say they all contained msg (and we were all pretty thirsty afterwards). The robots bringing food to your table is a bit gimmicky... and hard to navigate the crowded restaurant with narrow walkways. The table across from us order their "Dancing Noodle" so we were also entertained by someone juggling and pulling noodles in the walkway. Our server was great... very patiently explained the order process, helped prep the shrimp paste for our hotpots, etc. Food was just ok, and the bill adds up fast with all the a la carte orders. Gave them 4 Yelps for the overall experience and great server, but otherwise the food is a 3.5 Yelp at best. Definitely had better all you can eat hotpot deals with decent food in the Houston area, so not sure we'll be back.

My favorite place to get hot pot! I love how clean and neat this place is and one of my favorite things about this hot pot franchise is the service! There's so many cool little things that mean a lot! I love the huge menu and especially their new promotion of meat o'clock which definitely gets me full! I highly recommend and would come back

Delicious. The best hotpot restaurant in Houston by quality. They have specials on certain days, particularly AYCE during lunch on weekdays that you should definitely aim for if you eat here, as it can get pretty expensive. My friend and I usually eat a lot and we were stuffed by 5 meat plates. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Tom Yum broth, but all other broths are amazing. Tomato broth is especially great here and different than other places. Haidilao prides themselves on their service and nice amenities, which they did not disappoint with at the Katy location. Remember that you paid for everything so you can take things to-go, and also that there's special phrases you can say to your server to get free stuff like soup broths, fruit, toys, etc.!

Malaysian Grilled Chicken Satay - Super tender with a sweet peanut sauce that really accentuated the flavors. Probably my favorite appetizer so far--had to be extra careful around my BF after this! Definitely my brother's personal favorite; I'm sure he ate 3 of them! Hainanese Chicken & Rice - Very tender and chewy with a mild flavor. The ginger-and-scallion sauce at the bottom was very refreshing, and the aromatic rice was among the most delicious I've had! I saw that the grains looked similar to Vietnamese broken rice because they weren't fully rounded. For some reason, this made the texture so much more appealing to me. Curry Chicken Puff - Love the curry flavor of this and the delicacy of the puff pastry. The shell isn't too thick, and the vegetables are very well infused with the curry, making them strong contributors to the overall flavor. Despite it being a pastry, I didn't feel overwhelmed by the carbs--indicating that the breading-to-stuffing ratio of this sat at the perfect pinnacle. Malaysian Roti Canai - One of my absolute favorite dishes here. I would come to this place just for this--the whole table compared the combo to crack. No joke. The chicken and potatoes are some of the most tender pieces in this dish, and you could slurp the broth like it's its own dish. I watched this go way too fast, and even two orders per table were not enough to satisfy the crowd. Malaysian Roti Canai (w. Egg) - Love the original much more, but this was still very delicious. They made the egg very thin, so it didn't overwhelm the roti. The egg took away from my favorite roti taste, but it was so well seasoned I wasn't even that angry about it. Malaysian Char Kuey Teow (Migoreng) - OOH. This has a unique flavor --much more savory than packaged ramen. The texture of the noodles is very inviting. It's much less salty compared to the pre-packaged Migoreng. The flavor was more umami. Rich, deep, and just the perfect amount to coat the noodles. Stir-Fried Mixed Vegetable (w. Tofu) - This is a very saucy vegetable dish, but I didn't mind it at all. I loved it, though it was the last dish I had and I was definitely stuffed by then. The sauce reminds me of a thinner Migoreng sauce--more viscous than a loose sauce, but not as thick as Migoreng. Very good, but my taste buds were definitely overwhelmed by then. Malaysian Milk Tea - Not as sweet as I expected. I was told the tea leaves were imported from Malaysia, and our table ended up ordering six of them. The lingering bitterness in the aftertaste is something I'm very fond of, and the tea flavor is exceptionally rich. The milk infusion in this is exceptional. Malaysian Lime "Calamansi" & Plum Drink - Tasted like a lime-tamarind drink to my BF, while my brother and I thought it tasted like Vietnamese chanh muối. Overall, Uncle Chin's lived up to the hype, just as I knew it would from the day my BF brought home leftover roti from his very first visit. The buzz of having 16 people definitely distracted me from paying close attention to every dish--I even missed taking a few photos--but one thing remained true: everyone was talking about the food. Every time a new dish came out, the table erupted with commentary about its flavor, uniqueness, and overall impact. Some dishes stole the show more than others (my lovely roti, hello), but every single one earned its place on the menu. Very sad we didn't get to see Uncle Chin sing, but with 16 people to serve during the lunch rush, I'm sure he was pretty overwhelmed.

For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time.
