Brisket Burrito, we got it Rainbow (all the sauces). And a cubano with a side of guac.
    Elizabeth P.

This review is going to sound dramatic but it really is that serious. El Green Go's is one of the best places we've eaten in Alaska, period. The flavors are absolutely insane, we got the burrito with all of the sauces and each one was individually fantastic and delightful mixed together. Highly reccomend getting the brisket, it is cooked perfectly and the burrito was jam packed. I hope they add the cubano to the main menu because it was perfectly crafted. But what made El Green Go's really awesome was the staff. The nicest and friendliest service, the woman who took our order was a delight even in the short interaction we had. This place is definitely making our rotation of favorite restaurants!

We went to the Northern Lights restaurant. The food was full of fresh flavors and a delicious smokiness! The service was exceptional and the dining area was clean. The portions are plentiful!!!! We had the AK Fish tacos Green-Go style one with halibut and the other with salmon.

Now, my first culinary experience with this restaurant was a good one, their cheese burger with honey and whipped Brie?!?!?!?!?! Is a masterpiece disguised as a cheese burger the tater tots on the side? Meh! Nothing to see there. The most mind-binding, disrespectful thing I came across at this establishment is them calling a glorified Little Caesar's quality cheese bread with a side of dipping sauce a "Pizza" if it wasn't enough that this cheese bread was marketed as a "Pizza" which it is not but to call it a Detroit style Deep dish? Unforgivable! I wanted to love this pizza so badly but I cannot allow anyone else to spend $28.00 on a dried out, over cooked order of cheese bread. The service was good until I was given Diet Coke instead of Coke Zero. I swear service recovery is such a lost art. C-

1 star (0 if possible)…read more My family is from Alaska, and this was our first time trying this restaurant while celebrating my brother's college graduation. Unfortunately, the experience was so rude and disorganized that we ended up leaving before ever getting to eat. When we arrived, we were greeted by a man in a black shirt who was immediately rude and kept interrupting my mom while she was trying to ask about a table for five. We were told there would be a wait, which was fine, but from that point on the service only got worse. We sat waiting for about 20 to 30 minutes and were never given menus or any updates, while other parties around us who were also waiting were being helped, given drinks, given menus, and kept informed about their table times. While we were waiting, we overheard what I assume was a manager, a man in a maroon shirt with tattoos, updating another party about their reservation. He told them that their reservation had been messed up: instead of having one table for six as requested, the restaurant had them down for a table for four and a separate table for two. If they wanted to actually be seated together at a table for six, they would have to wait another hour, plus an additional 40 minutes for food. Hearing that made it pretty clear that the lack of organization and communication wasn't just happening to us. After we had already been waiting, the man in the black shirt finally came back over. Instead of seating us, he told us it would actually be another 45 minutes to an hour before we would even be seated and receive food. I asked if that included the time we had already spent waiting, and he responded to me in a very dismissive and demeaning way, saying that we would not even be seated for another 45 minutes. At that point, my mom and stepdad decided we should just go somewhere else. My mom asked if the drinks could be comped given the poor communication and how the situation had been handled. His response was basically, "You'll have to take it up with them," referring to the bar. When I asked if the bar was a separate business, he ignored the question and walked away. My stepdad then had to go up to the bar and pay for four drinks, which took another 10 minutes despite there being two bartenders and very few people waiting. I can't review the food because we never got the chance to try it. We came in hoping to have a nice dinner to celebrate a college graduation, and instead we got rude service, poor communication, and a complete waste of time. We would have gladly come back another day if the staff had simply been honest, respectful, and organized from the start, but after this experience, we won't be returning.

The room has a high-energy, lively vibe without ever feeling overwhelmingly loud, and you can tell why the chef earned a James Beard nomination. You definitely need a reservation; they have a few walk-in spots, but they go very fast, so you will want to get there right when doors open if you do not have one booked. The beverage menu is very well done, with great cocktails and thoughtful mocktails that felt just as crafted. For food, our starters set a high bar; the pork buns, pickles, and octopus were all flavorful and well prepared. The ramen itself was delicious and hits the spot in the Alaska weather, with deep, tasty broths and bold flavors throughout. The Dark Horse was especially good. We did not have room left for dessert, but the savory side of the menu more than delivered.

I was excited to see my favorite local beer, Framb Was, on the menu--a rhubarb-raspberry sour (although our server described it as a blueberry sour ). Another big plus is that they stay open late. The pizza had great flavor, and was exactly what we were hoping for. We were also lucky enough to get a table without having to wait, although I've heard that during the busiest parts of the day, the wait can easily reach 45 minutes or more! Before leaving, we ordered the Hungarian mushroom soup and tomato soup to go. Both were great. My only complaint is that they don't offer a grilled cheese sandwich to go with the tomato soup, but I ended up ordering breadsticks instead, which worked well. Overall, Moose's Tooth is a great spot. The food is tasty, the atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and I can definitely see why it's such a popular Anchorage restaurant. It also happened to be Monday, and the lunch special slice that day was the Call of the Wild, which was exactly the one I wanted to try. The Call of the Wild had reindeer sausage, steak, bacon, mushrooms, red peppers, cheese, and garlic cream sauce. The reindeer sausage was what sold me on it. If I'm eating pizza in Alaska, I might as well get the one with reindeer on it. It was savory, meaty, and very good. We also got a small Brewhouse Favorite with chorizo, sun-dried tomatoes, onions, cheese, and Denali sauce. The spicy chorizo and tangy tomatoes were a great combo. The thin crust was excellent. Chewy with a nice crisp edge, and sturdy enough to hold all the toppings without getting soggy. Lots of seating, plenty of parking, and a fun atmosphere.

The calamari was easily the best that I've ever had in my life. The chowder was absolutely fantastic. I also tried their beer flight, I don't know if I've ever mentioned beer in any of my reviews, cause I typically don't drink it. I was absolutely shocked to discover that the stout was one of my favorites, with that dark chocolate finish. All of the beers were really good, just a bit filling. Today I sampled the French dip and a slice of pizza, and both of those were absolutely fantastic. Had the calamari again, and everyone agreed that it was pretty much the best ever. Service last night was very good, our server took care to explain the food and drink options as well as answering any questions. He was very attentive and friendly. I went with a large group for lunch today and our server was excellent, she nailed every order and was friendly and quite attentive. Large groups can be a hassle, but she handled it excellently. The atmosphere last night was quite busy as you would imagine on a Friday night. That's why the good service and great food is extra impressive. We had a private room for our group lunch today, and it was quite nice as well. I would absolutely come back here again, and list them as a must visit for anyone visiting Anchorage. So far the food scene in Anchorage just doesn't seem to miss. Kudos to the management and staff for running an excellent restaurant operation and delivering both quality customer service and superior food product.
