This was once our "go to" place but we had to stop coming here due to really rude (consistent) service. Well, we gave it another chance. It seems the rude server has either left, fired, or we were lucky enough to come in on her day off. There are several good food breakfast places to choose from in Petaluma so service sets them apart in my opinion. Eggspresso seems to have listened to the reviews about service as it's improved. They deserve recognition for that. The food - a bit expensive for what you get, but they have a couple of excellent tasty dishes. My fave - their potatoes. I choose their potatoes as a side and so does everyone who is in my circle. We haven't been coming here because of the several bad experiences with service but it seems like they heard so we'll try again. read more

I've heard about this place for a while and been meaning to try it, but just never had an opportunity to be nearby during breakfast time to visit. One Sunday morning, I woke up craving an egg sandwich and decided to finally drive down to Petaluma to try this. I ordered over the phone, which was pretty quick and easy. When I got there, my food was ready to be picked up, but I noticed some delicious looking croissants and pastries so decided to add these to my order as well. I got the Fancy Almond croissant, Blueberry-Lemon Scone, and Nutella-Hazelnut Swirl (all not pictured). They were all soooo good -- fresh, fluffy/flaky, and perfectly sweetened (aka not too sweet). Went perfect with some coffee or tea. The sandwiches itself were honestly disappointing. I got the Petaluma with added sausage and bacon + Sausage, egg & cheese with added bacon. They were both super greasy which made it a mess to hold and eat. On the Petaluma -- the bacon I added on was chopped into the egg scramble, which I wasn't expecting and wished they would've just added whole slices to the sandwich instead (didn't realize I'd even have to specify this). While I appreciated the large size of these sandwiches, the greasiness ultimately made it so hard for me to enjoy. For the prices I paid, especially with all the add ons, I didn't feel like it was worth the money to be honest. We had the country skillet and a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwhich. We shared the country skillet and both didn't like it, it had not much flavor and honestly the gravy I feel ruined it. The staff were really nice but the service is really really slow; however, that could be because we were sitting outside. But the table next to us sat down after us and they got their water and food before we did -- they finished their entire meal before we even got ours (~12-15mins after) -- so that was a little upsetting. With you sandwiches, you can choose either potatoes, salad, or soup of the day as your side. Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Sando: *5/5*: We got this with brioche. The brioche was toasted well & soft. The bacon was crispy yet still had some chew to it and I loved how the yolk was still a little runny. They also put ketchup in the sandwich as well which I think tied everything together nicely. Wow I'm so impressed with this place! We were passing by Petaluma and were looking for breakfast and a good coffee. Settled on this place pretty fast because of food options and the modern clean feel from the pictures. I just wanted some decent espresso and good breakfast food. We had a chorizo eggs Benedict, a sausage egg and cheese sandwich, and two vanilla lattes. And wow! I wasn't expecting it to be this good! It was beautifully plated and It tasted better than it looked. Absolutely loved every single thing, and even the potatoes were absolutely perfect! Also the coffee here is sooo worth it. I am picky with mines and try to ovoid buying since i always regret spending money on something that's not great. But not this place. The coffee was absolutely perfect I had to ask what kind of beans they used so I can get some for myself. Also, the service was great on top of everything. My daughter ordered the Breakfast Burrito which we both really enjoyed. It had a little of everything breakfast in it and a side of mild salsa and sour cream. I'm really picky about my espresso so I hardly ever order it from a place that doesn't specialize in coffee. The espresso was as good as getting it at Peet's except that they use a medium roast here. Fairly sparsely decorated, with indoor and outdoor seating, they serve breakfast sandwiches, benedicts, skillets, omelettes, waffles, pancakes, pastries, lunch sandwiches, salads, and of course, coffee. Friendly staff, quick service. I ordered "The Petaluma" on brioche bun. It was really tasty! The sandwich insides were mushier than I expected but really good flavors. We visited eggspresso when they initially opened and then returned some time later to compare our experiences. The first experience was limited by their limited menu, and we had higher expectations once we heard that they recently expanded their menu. The location is somewhat challenging to get to depending on which way you're driving, and the parking lot is a hot mess with raley's, trader joe's and a ton of other businesses. Parking however is plentiful and free in the shared communal lot in front of the restaurant. Inside, it has an open, warm atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining available. Once the pastries arrived, we were pleasantly shocked. The almond croissant was absolutely the freshest and the flavors were delicious. Leslie our server noted to us that they were delivered daily from SF and they were her favorite too. The entrees were fresh and compact, but I didn't feel like the flavors were very notable. The crispy potato circles were an interesting take on a morning potato side, and the texture was really nice. On our second trip here, we were optimistic about the increased menu selections. We were seated by Stephanie and started our meal with two pastries. I ordered a 12 oz almond milk mocha ($4.50), hubby ordered the 8oz drip coffee and we looked over the new menu. The pastries were just as good as the last time, and the coffee was solid from Avid (previously acre), but the mocha had some weird chunky stuff in it which was off-putting. For the entrees, I ordered the Veggie Skillet with avo ($17) and hubby ordered the Country Skillet ($15) off the new menu. The servings were MASSIVE, and we could easily have split a skillet between the two of us. The flavors again were not bad but not remarkable, and the base of the potato circles were crispy and good but didn't make the meal. Overall, Eggspresso is by no means bad, but they also don't really wow in anything they do exclusively in house. The best things they have are pastries they ship in from out of area, which is a bummer. I'd love to see some more global flavors or non-traditional ingredients including some more meat alternatives, local ingredients and more. I'm glad they're here to help offset the huge demand for breakfast/brunch in the area, but we will likely be going elsewhere. read more

Less Depresso, more Eggspresso! I recently got to check out Eggspresso while traveling out to Petaluma for a friends wedding and this is the truth. The day after the wedding, I was wrecked! hungover out of my mind and purely hating life. I needed to drive back home to Sacramento but there was no way I was going to be able to do this without getting something into my system. After a desperate attempt to find a hangover cure, I came across Eggspresso. After glancing over the menu, I went with the Sausage, Egg & Cheese breakfast sandwich, fried potato's and 16oz nitro cold brew to bring me back to life. I have to admit, It was a struggle just to order but this is my fault. The customer service was solid, friendly and not hungover and spiteful of life. The sandwich was amazing, I got it with an over medium egg to which I used the potato's to clean up that yolk. I got this on the brioche bun which was soft and comforting to my dismal mood. The honey mustard aioli was just next level tasty to go with the sausage. I cant stress how bomb the potato's were. Crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside unlike my body which was nauseous and pretty wrecked. topping everything off with the nitro (which I mixed with the available oat milk onsite) I was good for the drive back home. Eggspresso is legit. I wish there was a Sacramento location, lets make it happen! read more

Thursday 7:20 am arrival. I was the sole patron, although they did seem to be making a few orders for delivery. The service was quick and friendly. Premises clean. Comfortable temp. The breakfast sandwich was tasty on a fluffy light English muffin. Minus one star because it was maybe a bit too light. One egg, a few slices of good bacon. Unmelted cheese, minimal ketchup, on an airy muffin means it's like a 1/6th pounder. Great taste just not much to bite into. It's like $15 for a coffee shop breakfast sandwich with higher quality ingredients just not much more food. The fried potatoes are just fine but not stellar. And for a true early solo breakfast the side isn't all that desired. I want to try dishes at the $20 level to see if they have more heft. read more

My partner got almost all sparkly and me almost all juice, but they offer a pineapple option that I highly recommend. I didn't love my basic bacon and eggs, my toast was burnt, but that's on me. I should have went with one of the other amazing options on the menu. You can look for avocado on almost half the menu! My partner got the eggs over easy on toast and it's was perfect. They have a great kitchen and cooks. I should have ordered anything else off the menu because they clearly know what they are doing and they are doing it well. Would have taken more photos but my husband had already ate half of his cheeseburger and then took half of the sausage, egg, and cheese. It was a tad too oily for my liking but the flavor was there. I had the sausage, egg, and cheese and the brioche bread it was on was yummy. The cheeseburger was okay. I didn't eat the bread since it was too oily for me. The pickle tasted sweet or maybe that's just my mind. I was hoping it would be more of a sour pickle. The menu isn't too crazy so it wasn't too difficult to make decision. Welcomed as soon as I walked in, the local breakfast spot seems very appealing & full of potential, everyone was busy and extremely pleasant. The room was pristine and super organized, they have a very digitalized system in the processing of our order, three sandwiches and two lattes. Total time was about 11 minutes from ordering to being ready. The sandwiches were cut in half, exposing an over easy fried egg which oozed over the rest of the ingredients. I found the ketchup overpowered the sandwich on the #1. The sausage was bland on #2. Both needed a bit of salt and pepper. The brioche was alright, I'd be interested in trying the giant English muffins to see the bread to remaining items proportions. They come with a side of potatoes which could have used a bit more cook as they lacked the crispy-ness or saltiness I'd expect- the packaging also seems larger than necessary- pretty but probably a bit of a waste unless they are using recycled products. The latte I drank was modified with almond milk, but was watery and lacked a robust espresso flavor. I think this place has a lot of potential, but could use some tweaks to improve some of the limited menu items and make them really stand out. read more

I had the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese sandwich and my wife enjoyed The Petaluma (scrambled eggs, cheddar, and caramelized onions) Sandwich. Both were delicious, with perfectly cooked eggs! I visited Eggspresso. Because of the name, i thought eggs and espresso, and originally went for that reason haha. I happen to also be a sucker for country style skillets so as soon as I found out they had a country skillet, I ordered it, along with coffee. It was simply amazing. The coffee was slightly sour but the cream helped even it out. Even their sourdough bread helped the perfect daytime meal become more perfect if that's even a thing! Enough seatings to handle brunch groups and staff are nice. But I'm not so sure I would be a regular at their price point.
