Why the heck did we waste 30 mins in line and $40 on a breakfast? This place is so overrated and not worth it. Don't be fooled by the long line. Food here was worth max $5 for two. Nothing special, corned beef hash salty!!!!! They serve everything on Styrofoam plates with plastic utensils. Zero presentation skills. I could have made better eggs myself frying them on the sidewalk on a hot day in waikiki. I was going to give this place an extra star, because I had to beg one of the guys to sit us by the window, which he did, but seemed irritated. I understand this place is super busy, and I feel bad for the workers here, but seems like everyone had a sour look on their face. The reason why I don't think this place deserves an extra star for moving our table to the window is because we went to Cream Pot on Niu Str. the next day., and had such a wonderful experience! We were offered a choice where to sit, food presentation and taste was exceptional, and utensils were real, plus staff were so sweet and friendly, they make eggs n things look like rotten eggs. Avoid! !! read more

Why did I go to this place? It was so flavorless. There were 3 of us ordering 3 different things; all of them tasted bad. Who seriously likes to eat here? Then as far as the place itself, it was a less classy IHOP. We should have gone there instead. I would have preferred just about anywhere else. Even gas station food. Can you give no stars? read more

Total crap don't go! Yeah!! that simple! Don't waste ur time in here. And don't trust the line out side they are all dumb tourists

Not worth the wait or money. Eggs were over cooked, ribeye was over cooked (ordered med rare and got very well done) and smelled BAD!!!!

Eggs and things restaurant great for weekend breakfast with the family. Reasonable prices and great food. I would highly recommend eggs n Things. read more

There was a long line I heard that this was a good place to go so I waited and it was a little confusing deciding what you wanted before sitting down and then another line to actually get your seat I had the eggs Benedict it was OK not wonderful not bad The eggs were poached correctly they English muffin was hard and untoasted the ham was not cooked correctly you have to get up to get your own soda and I want to coffee and never did receive that the service however was awful just terrible service the food expensive for what you get read more

Won't go back. Two omeltes, macnut waffle, side sausage 1 coffee and 1milk $45, before tip. Pancakes were fast food quality, home fries horrible, sausage were "brown n serve frozen brand. Coffee was horrible, food was poor diner quality. Too much money for paper plate, plastic ware self serve place. read more

Two stars because the Mac nut pancakes are so tasty. But no stars for long lines, expensive food, tiny plastic water cups, and shockingly paper plates and plastic utensils. Also wait staff not very friendly. read more

This place is NOT worth the wait at all! You can get a better breakfast at McDonalds one block away, and pay a fraction of what you'll waste here. We went this morning, and it was shockingly awful. We got the strawberry whip cream pancakes and the acai bowl. The pancakes were $12, so we figured they would at least be a decent size stack. Wrong. It was 5 small pancakes, with a few soggy strawberries, covered in a ridiculous mountain of whip cream, all served on a floppy paper plate. Our utensils? Disposable plastic fork, knife and spoon in plastic packaging. The acai bowl was laughably bad - the smoothie part was a frozen block - apparently they just make a bunch of these the night (or week) before and then stick it in the freezer. When you order, they throw some fruit and granola on it and give it to you. It is impossible to eat - you literally have to chip away at the frozen block with your plastic spoon. It's pathetic - but at least we got to pay $7 for the frozen acai block. It was really sad to wait forever and then have such an awful breakfast experience. I hope by writing this I save someone else from a bad start to their morning. read more

Was it worth the walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, 30 minute wait? Absolutely not!!! If it wasn't for the service & view my rating would b much lower. I would have rather saved my money and walked across the street to mcds for more tasty breakfast. No flavor, overpriced and tiny portions that they spread on the plate to make it look like ur getting a lot. On the positive note. Loved the service quick and polite!!! Give them a 5 star!!! read more

You must give your order BEFORE you enter this restaurant. So you are standing outside in a cramped area above the steps trying to read the menu, as the bench against the building is full. And, if you are already holding you Starbucks coffee, they will not let you bring it in even if you tell them you will be ordering more coffee or juice. Prices are NOT a bargain either. We left, went to McDonalds with our own coffee and had a sausage egg biscuit. Under $5 and very good. read more

Went there on a recommendation from a friend. The wait was somewhere around 20-25 minutes of standing and it simply was not worth it. I ordered the eggs benedict and was asked if I want the eggs soft or hard, which I've never heard of before. I said "Soft, they're supposed to be poached". I was concerned so I asked the guy when paying and he assured me it will be poached and they ask to determine how runny you want it. Well, for the first time in my life I got nearly hard boiled eggs for eggs benedict. It was one step away from full on hard boiled. I was quite ticked off. To further ruin the meal they layered around 4-5 slices of ham (not canadian bacon as far as I can tell) so I had to dissect the meal to remove the over abundance of meat. My wife got the crepes and they were under cooked and gooey. If you want a fanastic breakfast I would highly recommend Lulu's, and their Eggs Benedict is fantastic and they have some unique benedict options. For the wait, the price, and substandard food I recommend staying far away from Eggs N Things. Giving 2 stars since at least the food didn't make us ill... though my wife took two bites and literally threw her breakfast away sadly. read more

Yikes - this is the kind of experience that ruins the rest of your day. So rotten it's memorable. I am still attempting to wrap my brain around the extent of the 'casual arrogance' displayed by management and staff (except one chagrined busman, who we gave $20 to for his courageousness at rising above a truly disgraceful corporate climate) Beginning: Told there was a 20-30 minute wait, and that we needed not to roam away, ok, we can do that. My wife and I waited, while our teenage guests windowshopped around the corner. At 30 minutes, no table, so another friend (mother to the teenaged graduate we were hosting) said she could join us - tack on another 20 minute wait. When our guest wasn't on hand yet when we finally got called (after 50 minutes on a Thursday morning!!) we were told she couldn't join us, or that we would have to wait all over again. Loving my Waikiki tourist experience at this point (32 year Kamaaina), I said I would give up my seat when our guest appeared. Now understand, there is table room for five where we were placed - but I agreed to leave when our guest came (and leave without my food and go back to the hotel). Five minutes late, our guest was told she could not be allowed to order!!! The table of mothers and teenaged graduates were smugly informed "that was policy." That's when even my wife kicked up a storm, and you have to understand my wife is probably a Michelin five-star on the 'nice person' rating meter. This is an experience we will long remember as a family, and I promise you we will share at every opportunity with friends and visitors over the coming years. Please, gentle visitor, stay away from this place for your own well-being. There are so many great breakfast places in Honolulu, including, just a couple of blocks away, the Wailana Coffee House that will greet you cheerfully, and be grateful for your patronage. Koa House (anywhere on the island) is also terrific and half the price. This place views your time and visit with contempt. read more

Literally walked up to the front door at 8am and they had a sign saying "No eggs. No meat." I walked out the door. Are you kidding me? Lame.

This is the Eggs 'n Things Eggspress. So It is a little different than the sit down restaurant. The way you order is kind of weird, but it seems to work for them. You order at the door and you get a buzzer. Then you stand in line for a table (if they are busy) and when your buzzer buzzes, you go to the counter and pick up your food. I went with two friend and we wanted to try three different things and share. We ordered the eggs benedict, their famous pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, and a spinach and bacon omelet with mozzarella. All three were sooo good! Apparently Hawaiians eat rice with breakfast so we got rice with the eggs benedict. Surprisingly, the rice was really good with the hollandaise sauce, so it worked. The sauce was delicious and the eggs were so fresh they looked like they just came from the chicken that morning. The yoke was bright orange! delicious! The omelet, was really good, but nothing super special. It had a very generous amount of bacon in it though, and since I LOVE bacon, I was happy. But the favorite was the pancakes. They were light and fluffy with an enormous amount of whipped cream on top of the strawberries. But what made it the best was the coconut syrup. At first it didn't sound good to me, but I figured, I'm in Hawaii, how can I not try the coconut syrup. If i didn't like it, There was maple syrup available. So I tried it , and it was AMAZING! It was so good I bought a bottle of it to take home with me. This place is not going to be your food critic's favorite place, but it is delicious, reasonably priced, great service, and has a beautiful view of Waikiki beach. read more

Long lines, not so great customer service. Crepes are the worst I've had. Food is not so great. Won't recommend

We were a bit hesitant because of the location and the pay first setup, but we were pleasantly surprised. This is no IHOP or Denny's. It was yummy breakfast food. We had an ok omlett, but amazing white chocolate, fresh raspberry Hawaiian sweet bread french toast. Bathrooms were a bit scary. Staff seemed young. But for the price in Waikiki it was good. read more

Tried Eggs 'N Things on a local recommendation and was disappointed. First, if you don't get there early and I mean before 8 AM, you'll be waiting at least a half hour to get in and eat. At the end of the line, you give your order to the host. Now this weird because if you want to order more food, you'll have to get up and go back to the host outside. You can't order in the dining area. The host described everything as delicious. When the food came it wasn't all that. The draw here seems to be the pancake with a mountain of whip cream. I mean 80% whip cream, 20% pancake. The highlight of the meal was the four delicious pancake syrups. Guava, coconut, berry and regular. The staff seems to be super busy bussing and serving but the service seemed a bit off. More like they're catching up. All the food comes served on cheap paper plates and plastic cutlery. Which is kind of insulting when you're paying these prices. Be sure not to sit outside if there are clouds in the sky. It can rain at any moment and you'll be scrambling for cover with your paper plates because the outdoor seating doesn't have table umbrellas. Not the greatest breakfast choice in the area. No parking nearby. read more

Holy line! We waited for 45 minutes in line outside just to order them wait to be seated. Friendly serviced. Had Portuguese sausage, tomato, spinach, pepper jack cheese omelet with side of pancakes. Yummy! Hubby had loco loco. Also very good! They had a couple different syrup that were tasty as well to try than just traditional maple. We'd go again! read more

Meh, definitely! WTH!?!?! There is ALWAYS a line out of this place and so I was thinking that I'd try it. First of all, everything is served on disposable plates, as is the cutlery. Then, you have to self-serve yourself the coffee and other drinks. On TOP of that, the food was the same level of quality that I've had at the "free" breakfasts at like Hampton Inns and stuff on the mainland. SHEESH! Will not be going back..... in the words of Shania Twain, "that don't impress me much!" read more

Food ordered were egg Benedict, omelette with bacon and pancake, Portuguese sausage with pancake. As stated by others, we had to wait due to the long line. Food was great. The only minus was there was a missing syrup for the pancakes. There were 2 out of 3 available. They should check to make sure everything is refilled. read more

First experienced Eggs & Things at the Ala Moana Center. The experience was a pretty good one despite the long wait. Just checked out the Waikiki one and there were no long lines nor any waiting. Ordered the crab cake benedict. The crab cake was ok, but I did not like the hollandaise sauce. That was NOT hollandaise sauce. It was watery and too much paprika! Not only that, my eggs were VERY tiny. Don't know where they got them eggs from! Dove nest? Just kidding...Also, my daughter ordered steak and eggs with onion and mushroom. Even with the onion & mushroom, the steak had NO taste at all. She ordered medium rare and got medium well. For three people I paid well over $55.00. Not worth it from my experience. read more

I have no idea what all the rave is about and why there is such a long line to sit down / get food! The food at best was mediocre and they serve you on plastic plates. Definitely not worth the wait. read more

Fast food, the dining area was very shopworn, near the beach so it was crowded around nine when we had breakfast. A bit of a greasy spoon.

A few blocks from my hotel...the eggs, omelets, and pancakes were amazing. But tI only came here to check out the hot hostesses at the front. read more

We live here in Waikiki and always walk by Eggs and Things so we figured we might as well try it out. It is so overpriced especially for the food being served on paper plates. We did not wait long to be sat, but once we were seated it took about 30 minutes to get our food. We ordered omelettes with side orders of pancakes. My omelette was very runny and my pancakes were hard. We will not be eating here again. read more

Was not impressed--the line is deceiving---thought people were dying to come in but it's really because the restaurant doesn't seat many and makes it look like --it's worth waiting for. If you want to order at the door and be required to pay and tip before you even sit down---then this is the place for you. If you want basically no service except delivery of what you ordered, which was a joke because after all that, we waited a half hour before it was delivered ---this is a place for you--if you are satisfied with the coffee with no refill--again just sit down---if you think about what you had and the bill and tip you paid at the door ---yep you could of had dinner tonight!!! The atmosphere was dingy and dirty ---it is certainly a tourist trap! Enjoy! read more

Great service , great food. Only one thing I was dissapointed with was when I checked my bank account they had taken 20% tip out of my account for them selves without asking, I didn't sign or nothing and I had already tipped $10 in cash. If you go watch your money !! read more

highly recommend going for dinner. we are staying in a hotel close to it, and we see the crazy line every morning. we wanted to try it but the line put us off. the crepes and vegetarian omelette and pancakes were very good. the food took a little while to come out but the people were very nice. read more

It's been several years since I've dined at Eggs 'n Things. This was before it got so crazy with the tourists. Their system at the Kalakaua location doesn't help make it an express place. You have to stand in one line to order first. Then you're handed a ticket to stand in another line and pay. Then you wait in a third line to wait for a table. Total time was about 25-40 min. We saw someone leave because the line to order was taking forever since the host taking orders couldn't speak Japanese so she was having a hard time explaining the menu to the tourists. The food was not at all how I remembered it. It was mediocre food at best. Diner food is better than what they served. The only thing good was the macadamia nut pancake. read more

Good prices, good portions and decent food. I had the Portuguese sausage and eggs and my niece had the pancakes.

This place was highly recommended my many people. Food was decently good but I expected more based on the reviews. The Hawaiian loco moco, which has great reviews, is essentially Salisbury steak, rice and an egg on top. Something I make for dinner quite often so I wasn't thoroughly impressed. Not the restaurant's fault, just nothing to write home about. Additionally, my French toast was cold, maybe because they were waiting on my partner's food to cook. The French toast special (with pineapple and macadamia nuts) itself was mediocre but the syrups were delicious and made it worth having! There are three to choose from, one is coconut based and probably my fave. Service was fine, there was a line however the wait wasn't too bad, maybe about twenty minutes total. I would recommend as a breakfast spot but it's not a "must see" My partner says "I wasn't blown away". read more

I was told that I HAD to go here while I was in Honolulu. I wasn't disappointed!! Their Portugese sausage was amazing, my eggs were cooked perfectly, and the macadamia nut pancakes were delish. They also have a coconut syrup that was pretty tasty. I definitely recommend visiting this place if you're in town! read more

The line that's always in front of this place is not what I thought it was for! I've been wanting to see what's up with this place because I walk by it everyday and everyday there is a huge line...mostly Japanese. Well for one there's a line because the place is tiny. Two Japanese are eating here for the desserts & waffles...both of which I'm not in to. I like Portuguese sausage and loco moco. Their Portuguese sausage was actually pretty good...nice and toasted. Their loco moco was nothing great...good thing I was starving. If you're looking for that hearty breakfast experience...keep going. Check out Hula Grill, Lulu's... read more

We stayed at the attached Waikiki Circle hotel and were awe struck by the line at all hours of the day (it must be written in a guidebook somewhere that this place cannot be missed) so we opted to eat here during the marathon (I think all the Japanese tourists that normally line up were running that day). The service was friendly and the food was tasty but very overpriced for basic breakfast served on paper plates without waiter service (you preorder and pay at a counter, they bring to your table on a tray). Mix in the normal wait and I don't think it is worth it. I would walk 2 blocks toward Diamond Head and eat at Lulu's. read more

Overrated. I was so not impressed. I was not impressed by the incredibly rude and sassy hostess that "greeted us". I was not impressed by the mediocre yet pricey corned beef hash. And I was specifically not impressed that I got up super early to avoid a wait for a meh breakfast. I am clearly not a fan. Maybe the Ala Moana location is better? read more

Had breakfast here with some friends. Food was ok. Overpriced for what you get. Nothing special. I had the Loco Moco which was good because they added fresh onions and mushrooms to the dish. The pancakes were as good as IHOP. The coffee was awful. But the service was pleasant. read more

Waited 45 minutes in line and then got seated. Noticed everyone else was getting their food around us. Come to find out per the waiter, they just chose not to cook our order which comprised of - 1 spinach omelet, 2 side orders of pancakes, vegan sausage and a scrambled egg. We had to complain to get our food! Worst experience in Waikiki I've had. Duke's is so much better with a better view! read more

Walked around for an hour trying to decide where to eat. Saw there was no line which was rare. Found this breakfast spot for dinner for my family. Not a fancy place at all. Small diner looking style. You order as you walk in and wait for a table. Food is served on paper plates and utensils. But pancakes with coconut syrup is pretty delish. I had their Kobe beef with eggs and rice. I tell ya, the rice made in HI are so good. My kids enjoyed the food here too. read more

Avoid Eggs N' Lines...not worth the wait. You have to stand in 3 different lines to be seated. 1st line is to order, 2nd line to pay and then a third line to be seated...absolutely horrible system People behind you will get seated first because they will have someone standing in the seating line long before they order...the will be seated before you even though your number is before theirs. The food itself is mediocre greasy diner food...but not as good and more expensive. Spare yourself the frustration and save your time...I highly recommend going elsewhere read more
