Walked around for an hour trying to decide where to eat. Saw there was no line which was rare. Found this breakfast spot for dinner for my family. Not a fancy place at all. Small diner looking style. You order as you walk in and wait for a table. Food is served on paper plates and utensils. But pancakes with coconut syrup is pretty delish. I had their Kobe beef with eggs and rice. I tell ya, the rice made in HI are so good. My kids enjoyed the food here too. read more

Avoid Eggs N' Lines...not worth the wait. You have to stand in 3 different lines to be seated. 1st line is to order, 2nd line to pay and then a third line to be seated...absolutely horrible system People behind you will get seated first because they will have someone standing in the seating line long before they order...the will be seated before you even though your number is before theirs. The food itself is mediocre greasy diner food...but not as good and more expensive. Spare yourself the frustration and save your time...I highly recommend going elsewhere read more

I just don't see the appeal to this restaurant. We waited in line for about 30-40 minutes. Then I went to prepay, after the front took our order. It was wrong. Why do it that way if you can't even get the order correct? Waited 20 more minutes in another line to sit down. Drank the coffee while waiting. Tasted like it was either days old, or they use toilet water as the source. Both creamers were empty. Prep area was dirty. Finally sat and waited about 15 more minutes. We both ordered Crepes. One blueberry and one banana. Worst Crepes I've ever has. The taste itself was ok, but the consistency was wrong. More like thin pancakes than Crepes. Clearly made on a griddle instead of a crepe grill. To top it off it was so hot inside and no airflow. Sweated through my shirt just sitting. The other location is a bit better, but I just don't get why people talk about this place. If you want good Crepes, go elsewhere. I suggest Cream Pot. read more

Awful service, I can't even explain what happened, discrimination this is all I can say , long line , food okay, not worth the wait... And they messed up my order ... Skip it ... read more

I have to agree with the reviewers below who recommend McDonald's over Eggs 'n Things. You'll not only save yourself time and money, but I suspect you'll get a better meal. With a constant line of patrons waiting on the sidewalk to get in, I would have thought there was something worth the wait. Boy, was I wrong. Cold, overcooked eggs, greasy undercooked bacon and rubbery pancakes. All served on paper plates with plastic utensils. (My fork broke trying to hold the pancake in place as I sawed away with the plastic knife. . .) I'm not sure what all the hype is about. It looks like I fell for it too! read more

Breakfast was good. I was expecting a little more with the way the line was out the door. Nothing fabulous. Prices were average. Check out cinnamons! That place is awesome read more

What a disappointment, I used to live in Hawaii and frequented the first location when they were a real restaurant. we were there for dinner and had the garlic shrimp and the crab benedict, the shrimp were cold and tasteless with 2 scoops of dried out rice, the crab cakes had to be preprocessed from a food supplier. if not they should be ashamed to admit they made them. the request for soft eggs did not happen. The meal was also delivered in stages. and we had to request missing parts of the order more than once. They have a good location but not much else. read more

Had dinner here. Ordered a ribeye steak and an omelet. The ribeye was a very thin cut 5mm thick/thin, almost like a schitzel and over cooked for medium rare with no flavor.. Underwhelming to the point of being appalling. Omelet had absolutely not flavor. Would never recommend this restaurant based on our experience. read more

Horrible service. Impolite staff. Bland food. Dirty dishes. They charged us for hot water! Will never come back here. Horrible place.

Good customer service nice food but im waiting like 45 mins.its ok i understand because they busy..

Probably the worst place to dine in Waikiki. No air conditioning inside the restaurant. Food is average at best. The server missed one of our orders so a party member did not get his plate until almost everyone is done. Terrible experience. read more

This place does not even get a grade of "okay". If you want good breakfast, go anywhere else. The line was long, and seating was tight. They serve everything on paper plates and plastic wear. The pancakes where hard to cut with a plastic knife. With a plastic knife! They bring water to your table in these tiny little Dixie cups. It is only 3 sips of water. The best thing was the maple syrup and they don't even make that. The Guava syrup was decent. I will never take my family back to any of the locations. It was $75 to feed the four of us for breakfast! $75 for BREAKFAST!! For a place that is not even okay. Never again. read more

Long wait, but we had time. You order then pay, then get seated, then eat. Didn't mind that, just different. I got eggs benedict & my boyfriend got the loco moco. Good, not the best by any means. I think the pancakes & waffles are the real star?? Maybe. read more

It's alright. I am not sure how it's OK to serve food from paper plates and plastic utensils but maybe that's the Hawaiian way? My daughter loved their loco moco and I ordered the spam and eggs with rice which reminds me of my childhood in the Philippines but if you are just frying spam and serving it with rice how can you even get that wrong? read more

Good breakfast spot with a great view. They've got a good system going as well to turn tables if you don't want to take an hour to have a solid sit-down breakfast. read more

Really yummy food! Super friendly staff. Just come early because the location is small and it gets busy

Let me just start off by saying this: patience is a virtue. That being said, this is known to be quite the hotspot in the area for food, so a wait I feel is just mandatory for the experience. Great! Now that we've gotten that out of the way, here's a few tips on eating at Eggs n' Things. Please. Please. Before you get to the podium, know what you are going to order! You have a ton of time to think of your order so please do so! They actually have a very good system going on for what they need, as they constantly have a plethora of hungry customers. And regarding the service, sure this isn't the place that the server is constantly checking up on you once you're seated, but who really needs that anyway? If you need anything, just ask! The service to me, is the best it can be within the circumstances! Moving on to the important stuff: the food! LOVED IT. Nuff said. Be sure to try the plantation iced tea and the pancakes are nice and fluffy! Portions are perfect and pretty good for the price! read more

First visit was amazing. The men here are fun and hospitable. Our second visit we had a lady serving us and she didn't look happy or cared much for anything which kinda made it less enjoyable. Otherwise, the meal depends on what you get. I would avoid chocolate waffles and strawberry crepes. The chocolate is just Hershey's and strawberries were the preserved kinds not fresh. Hawaiian loco moco is an absolute fav as well as the acai berry! For the price, it's a good try. read more

OMG!!!! the food here is amazing I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, chicken mango sausage, and a side of eggs (to put on top of my sandwich). The chicken for the sandwich was seasoned perfectly and has an amazing taste, the chicken sausage tasted amazing, and the egg was cooked perfectly. I would eat here a thousand times over. read more

Best breakfast place in Waikiki. Best pancakes ever. Don't listen to any other review. This place rocks.

With a line out the door and onto the sidewalk I assumed that I stumbled on something delicious and I was not disappointed. The restaurant itself is small, hence the line, but it's well worth the wait. The staff are all super friendly, smiling, and are working together to make your experience great. I got standard diner food with a Portuguese sausage twist and it was delicious! I sat at the counter as I was eating alone & the host sat someone beside me & introduced us. We struck up a conversation and ending up chatting for our whole meal and sharing pancakes...it's just that kind of place! Pro tip - Try the pancakes with coconut cream syrup. Delicious! read more

This is the what they call the lower end of the restaurant with paper plates and knives instead of traditional silver ware to help keep costs down or maybe expedite the food? I'm not sure. Service was actually very good, the host in the front quickly took our order with a IPAD and let us know about he kama aina discount! The hardest part about this restaurant is that I like to sit down first and think about what I like to order I felt very pressed for time since there was a line of 7 behind me, customers beware that you should start preliminary thinking before you go in! There is a giant sized menu right before you enter. If you go during peak hours of business I'm sure there will a lot of time to think about what you really want. The servers and waiters were very friendly and provided much needed "aloha" after a long night of Halloween festivities earlier that night. The server was super cool to bring me my own pitcher of water as they felt we needed to rehydrate! Absolutely Hillarious! I prefer this location over any of the others as I have waited in very long lines, sub standard service, and more importantly pricing. It seems that this location is one of the cheapest?! Well that's my perception! Still how can you ever go wrong with EGGS and THINGS sweet and salty Heaven!!! read more

Service took forever then non existent! Food came out super quick but no cheese in the omelet and wrong gravy on my loco moco. Loco Moco was bland. Breakfast potatoes were old and chewy. Never saw our server after she delivered our meals. When we asked about lack of cheese, he didn't offer to remake or even add cheese. Worst service since we got here. Had to ask for water. read more

Okay food. Service not so great. You wait in line for a while and order and pay first, then wait to be seated. The best thing going for this place is it's location on the main strip of Waikīkī. Nice view of the beach. Seating is uncomfortable and we didn't get our coffee until our meal arrived. Servers are inattentive. Definitely a one-shot, one-kill breakfast experience. read more

Across the street from the beach. You order and pay when you walk in and then are seated. Our party of 5 had açaí bowls, Hawaiian omelet and other eggs and everyone loved their meal. Open windows and Hawaiian music playing in the background made it a perfect quick breakfast spot. Prices were very reasonable. read more

This was quite possibly the BEST eggs Benedict I have ever had. Refill on drinks would have been nice, but otherwise food quality was amazing. The process is a little different... you wait in line and then order your food at the host station. Then you pay, and then you are seated. Overall, I would wait in line again for the delicious food! read more

Every time we would walk past this place there would be a line to get in the door. What amazes me more is that they serve your meal on paper plates with plastic utensils. If a restaurant can sustain serving off paper plates and still have people flocking to get in then the food has to be good or the prices reasonable. I tried the local Hawaiian fare of Loco Moco. It was two eggs, in my case fried over easy, on top of a ground beef patty cooked to your liking on top of a bed of rice covered in brown gravy. It was different than my normal breakfast back in Texas but to my surprise it was very tasty. My husband had a Ham and Cheddar Cheese Omelette and he said it was very good with great flavor. His meal came with a side of pancakes and he said they were equal to the best he'd ever had. Our total bill with two drinks, tax and 20% tip came to $32.00. Not too bad for a good breakfast in Waikiki. read more

Eggs 'n Things - Waikiki Beach Eggspress - Loco Moco - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

It's silly all the bad reviews for paper plates. This is a great price for large portions of great breakfast fare. It is easy $10 per person cheaper than my hotel breakfast nearby. My coffee was great and they have a variety of foods with local flavors. The view is beautiful and the staff friendly and busy. Will probably eat here again during my stay. read more

This place is located in the heart of Waikiki right on the strip (Kalakaua) so its ultra convenient. There's ALWAYS a line. I don't think I've ever gone and there wasn't a line. The employees there are always friendly and helpful no matter what. This last visit here was iffy for me. I went twice in 1 week actually because the food is pretty good, the only downfall is the price. It isn't cheap. But what IS cheap in Hawaii?I had ordered regular french toast, well I simply said I wanted french toast, but instead I was given the special FT instead which came with chocolate, whipped cream, and strawberries. This may be good to eaters who enjoy those toppings but for me, not so much. I ended up ordering fried rice which was DELICIOUS and ate that happily. I wasn't provided a refund or anything for the botched FT but I was given a complimentary guava juice which was very sweet. Our servers were cheery and helpful. They also made friendly conversation often. I'd def go back again. My only qualm is the pricing. read more

I have to say I don't understand the bad reviews. I've been eating here since 1991 and the food has always be amazing and healthy. Fresh ingredients and fish, almond health shakes and great breakfasts leave nothing to desire. Coconut syrup too! All the elements for a great breakfast. The line is there for a reason. Not to be missed. read more

Food was just average, nothing worth coming back for really, except for the beach view. Prepare to wait in line... Breakfast cost $90 for a family of 5 ! read more

This place looked busy from outside and we thought that has to be a real good business ...we went in...to find we have to stand in a line to order and another line to get in and another line to pay till they find us a spot ...we still thought that this place has to be really unique to take money before u eat ....ended up that there food quality is not any better than ur IHOP and Denny's in ur neighborhood , actually so so over priced for nothing unique at all... One place of omelet and pancakes for 30$!!!!!! Never waste ur time and money to to mcdonalds next door if u r really hungry and can't walk to Denny in the next block read more

Like how other 2-3star customers said, it is not worth of eating here if u want the ocean view table. We didn't had the chance to go to the original place, we tried how bad this place was. The wait wasn't bad but not having waiter/waiteress, it was more like serve ur self fast food. I guess they don't have washing station that they serve us paper plate and plastic utensils. I ordered the blue berry waffle w/nuts and my husband ordered omlet of the day. I was really disappointed w/the volume. $13 for a fat waffle?! WTF?! It wasn't worth of the price at all. My husbands plate was ok, i guess. It was stupid that u had to pay first and was asking for tip when we don't waiter/waiteress service. Why would we want to tip them when we don't get any service. I just wanted to check it out since the japanese people where like 'this is the best place to get pancakes!' Oh, please. I would recommend to friends but not this location. read more

Service was super quick compared to the locations in town. You order your food in the line so it's ready by the time you take a seat give or take a few. The plastics were sorta inconvenient but I under stand with the fast pace of Waikiki as compared to more local locations. Overall I was happy with the service and quality Mahalo! read more

They are pretty busy around the clock but there's always one grouchy worker. Other than that the food is good.

It was late and raining in Oahu when I needed to find some breakfast for the next morning. We were doing a dolphin excursion at 6 am and our hotel breakfast wouldn't be open before we left. I walked down the street to this restaurant and got some pretty scrumptious grub. We ordered the French toast with lilikoi and coconut shavings all over it. Though we kept the food in the mini fridge all night, it kept well and was delicious for the morning. The place was crowded even for dinner when I had arrived to order to go. The service was really good and they were friendly. The place seemed small, and apparently there is more than one location on the island. It was nice to get some local food vs. going to one of the big national chain restaurants. It's kind of divey, which I don't mind so long as the food is delicious. read more

Arrived at Eggs 'n things and grabbed a menu, then waited in line to order. Once you order you pay for it then ate seated. This is a small place - not good for groups. Service is amazing and everyone works together to bring drinks, food, and clear. Today they were out of waffles. Food was good, loved the POG juice. read more

This place is soo delicious and worth the wait! It was soo good my family and I came back the very next day. This is a place I would come visit every time I come to Waikiki! The spinach, bacon, and cheese omelette with pancakes is very delicious and was our favorite thing on the menu! read more

Island Moco Loco isn't that good compared to Rainbow's. My boyfriend likes their island style fried rice though. line is longer than it should be but I only think that it's like this because it appears to be the only breakfast place in waikiki. read more

I was in Hawaii for a week and everyday, the line for this place was out the door and down the sidewalk! Despite the long wait, the food was definitely worth it. The Hawaiian Locomoco is delicious, with plenty of mushrooms and onions. Their plantation ice tea was just alright, I had to add some of their pineapple syrup to make it sweet enough for my tastes. There was an ungodly amount of sour cream on their strawberry sour cream crepe, but the it was enjoyable overall. read more
