Meh . . .. Don't be fooled by the lines I don't think this branch was worth the hour plus wait we had to endure to get a table. Thankfully food comes out fast once you are seated. Definitely the pancakes with the different syrups save this place from being less than 3 stars although I would probably give it 1-2 stars if I based it solely on the wait time. Their original restaurant on Saratoga has much better ambiance and decor and not giving you food on paper plates. I will say it faces Waikiki beach which was a big plus with the windows open and a nice breeze. Coffee was decent as was the POG juice read more

Long line and cliche break fast

There was a huge wait which made me think it was a good place to eat. The system is really odd. You wait in line (which took about 20 minutes), place your order, then wait in line again to pay (another 5 minutes), then wait to get seated (another 5 minutes), and then sit down to wait for your food (another 20 minutes). It is a lot of waiting for poor quality food. A lot of people in the restaurant got the pancakes and seemed to be enjoying them. I got the veggie omelet and was disappointed. The place gives the impression of a sit down place, but the long waits, self serve drink station, and paper plates shows that it is truly a fast food place. Well, more like a slow food place with all the waiting. read more

The place is not equipped for a party larger than 4. Server a little forgetful. Although food was good, even if a little on the pricey side. Location is good, close to hotels on Waikiki strip for those who don't have cars. The line gets obnoxiously long though, so be prepared to wait. For people with an option to drive for breakfast, by all means, take it. read more

Ordering before sitting is required. To include beverages. Some waiters were inconsiderate, since this was our first time to this location and with a group. Paper plates and Plastic utensils are issued. Not to great for cutting meat. Skip and try the other locations. read more

I agree with a previous review.. great food, but not the best system. You wait in line and order, then wait to be seated. (The entry way is tiny, and this is in Waikiki with many walking by, so it's busy) then you wait to be buzzed when your order is ready. Hold up your buzzer, and they'll bring it to you. But the place is really busy, so make sure you have everything you need out you'll be waiting again forever. The food is good at any hour. The Pineapple tea is bomb. Probably wouldn't go to this location again though.. read more

This place is da bomb. Pancakes are amazing as is the Portuguese sausage. It is a must when in Hawaii

It was my first time trying loco moco and I was disappointed as I expected it was supposed to be real local Hawaiian food. The line was definitely long. The guy who took the order in front of the place was friendly. read more

It's not as good as people talked about it, but breakfast is still decent just over priced, maybe it is because of location. You can get pancakes in McDonald next door just as good but with much less money. It's weird that you must pay tips first, it's kind awkward. Overall not a bad place for breakfast if you are willing to pay extra. read more

I'm not sure why this place gets bad reviews. Yes you have to pay before and tip before but the service is great. Instead of having one server you have 4 or 5 taking care of you and my coffee was always full and food came out quickly. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with pancakes and it was really tasty. Make sure you try the coconut syrup!I wish I would have tried this place earlier! read more

We went there for dinner since there was no line and the restaurant was empty. That should have been a hint for us to not eat here. I ordered a steak dish, the meat came out looking like pink slime. My husband's local moco tasted like canned dog food. Over priced food. Not good. read more

The food is good, not great. The wait wasn't worth the price or food quality. I would suggest going when the line is shorter if you must. The juices were the highlight for me since they were fresh squeezed. read more

Couldn't even get in.. the lines everyday were too long. I heard so many great things about this place but they open at 6:00am and we were there at exactly that time and the lines were way out the door. read more

Goodness gracious, tourist trap. We were staying nearby and really just wanted some eggs on a weekday morning. I wish we'd gone anywhere else. My dining companion and I ordered the eggs, bacon, and starch (I got toast - which for an inexplicable reason cost more to upgrade to than the pancakes that came with it?!) and the other person in my party upgraded to the banana pancakes. It ended up being $30 for gross breakfast! The eggs were rather mediocre - bordering on gross. The toast was eh, the bacon overly greasy. The pancakes were the only good part of the meal - and I will say the portioning on that was insanely generous. We definitely didn't need two meals between the two of us. There have to be better places with better quality food to eat. Don't let the line outside tempt you. Also the wait was somewhat ridiculous. Based on other reviews we might have gotten off easy on the wait - only took us 15-20 minutes to order and be sat down. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time, calories, or money here. I will give the staff credit, they were very polite. read more

Our adult kids insisted that we go here for breakfast and they were on spot for quality, service and ambience. Don't miss going here while in HNL. read more

First of all regular plates and utensils so I guess they saw previous complaints. I ordered the spam and eggs with macadamia nut pancakes. I put the coconut syrup on the pancakes and they were delicious. The spam and eggs were good too. The eggs came out just the way I ordered them. Everything was delicious. read more

Not worth the wait. Eggs and toast were over cooked, coffee was bitter. While we were eating a cockroach scattered along the floor near our feet and pigeons flew over a heads and plates. Not with the wait. read more

Pretty pricey, staff wasn't all that nice. Food was definitely filling but the taste didn't make up for the pricing. It's pretty busy here so good luck not getting stuck in a long line. I will probably pass on coming again. read more

Eggs 'n Things - Waikiki Beach Eggspress - My French toast and my wife's pancakes in the back. Serving size is really big - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I was told before my vacation here that I MUST try this restaurant. This location was the closest to my hotel so I got up early for breakfast to walk since I figured there would be a line waiting. There was a line waiting but it moved faster than I expected, maybe 30 mins or so. You pay and give your order before they sit you. We were able to get a booth next to the window to enjoy the beauty while we ate. There were 2 of us so we got the shared meal for 2. It wasn't a huge portion when you divided the items but it was enough for a decent breakfast. When the food arrived they had everything all on one big plate, then quickly walked away. I want to share my meal with my guest but I don't want to eat off the same plate! I waited a bit for them to come back but they never did, so I got up to ask for another plate so we could split our meal. Food was good, nothing mind blowing but good. The pancakes were probably the best item. Once we got our food, the server never came back. Again, we waited patiently for them to refill our coffee but they never did. Once again (after our food was almost gone) I had to get up and ask if we can have more coffee. They didn't ask if we needed anything else or how our meal was. It seemed very rushed to get us out of the restaurant due to limited seating. The food was good but the service was terrible! Next visit I will find another place for breakfast that has better service. read more

Loved the place. There was a long line and I thought "forget it" but the gentleman in the front said it's 15 min tops and he was right. Ok not cheap but it's Waikiki after all. Food was awesome, every waiter smiling, making little jokes, clean place. Truly the Aloha spirit. read more

Macadamia pancakes were definitely good, worth the long wait in line...maybe. Worth the price, unfortunately no. They are good pancakes but the tourist price tag is not worth paying for. Setting and location of the resto is really good, right at Waikiki in front of the main road across the beach (Kalakaua), try this place at least once since you're in Waikiki anyways. Coconut syrup gives it an interesting flavor. Would i come back to this place for seconds, probably... read more

Please keep in mind this review is based on my first impression, as I did not eat the food there. Growing up here, I've heard about this place and decided to go check out what the raves were about. I looked at the menu before I went to the restaurant, and the prices weren't that bad. When I get there, the line is super long and the restaurant is tiny! I saw a couple eating on tables outside and the food is served on paper plates, this was a big turn off and decided to go eat somewhere else. Whether its a "eggspress or express" or whatever you want to call it, good food deserves to be on proper plates and eaten with silverware. Bottom line, Eggs N Things: You won't be getting my business anytime soon! Step up your game, if you open a location in the middle of Waikiki - make sure it's done right and can accommodate more people. read more

It was ok. Not the best, especially for its $$$. But it will do. If your not to worried or picky about your breakfast, than this is the perfect spot. But if you like it hot, fresh, than try another location. Taste wise was a 3/5, customers service 5/5. Price was a little high for what they had to offer. Hope this helped! Enjoy! read more

I tried the cornbeef hash and eggs. Nothing special about it. It was alright, something you could make at home. I suggest adding sriracha to their condiments. I'll give this place another try next time i'm in Waikiki and feel like eating breakfast. read more

People kept saying that this place was really busy, which it is in the morning...so go in the evening when it's not so crowded. You order and pay before sitting down which might be a factor in the waiting time during the day. Had some very rich crab cake benedict and got to try the banana pancakes. Staff were all very friendly, food was pretty good. Not sure why the line is so long in the morning, but honestly people should review poorly because of a wait. read more

Worth the wait although we decided to get takeout to quicken the process. I'm going to miss the macadamia nut pancakes! Everything was fresh and yummy. Also had the eggs and rice there and turkey bacon. No complaints there. The coconut syrup for the pancakes was amazing as well, I just didn't use too much. Good fresh affordable breakfast near our hotel read more

Food is not that impressive, there is a long wait every time, any time during the day. What saved it was the take-out line, the greeter wasn't very welcoming but that's because he is over worked and has to deal with rude tourists. Have you heard of Perkins? Mc Donald's? This place was expensive! I hope your rich. read more

Breakfast again. Is always worth the wait. The cashier Linda is a gem. I love that she was cheerful and personable. She appeared to love her job! I enjoy every thing about this place except the plastic forks and knives. Even their healthy options looked yummy.... Next time I'm going for the banana whipped pancakes.... read more

Ever since the original burnt down it's just NOT the same. I miss the original. The pancakes aren't as fluffy or tasty. I hope that they fix this soon and bring back that great taste of Hawai'i. This location is bigger than the original but I still don't recommend it for groups bigger than, really, four. read more

Good food but extremely long wait. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were very good I would go again from a tourist standpoint only!

Great food with a cafeteria format. We waited about 30 mins to be seated. I had the Portuguese sausage and eggs with a plantation tea - it was delicious and low cost for being right on the beach read more

The food is pretty good, but not sure if it's worth the hour we had to wait! If you eat the pancakes, and you should, try the coconut syrup! My veggie omelette was tasty. read more

The length of the line gave the appeal that it was fantastic, and without first checking Yelp, we went in. Pancakes and eggs were the order, the sides were incorrect. The food is simply average, nothing more. The only saving grace is that we didn't have to line up... read more

Seriously?! What is it with the long line and wait! Had I checked yelp before I wouldn't go there... You don't get a good food nor a good service! To the owner: definitely consider replacing those cheap paper plates and not green plastic settings with some real ones. read more

We went here on a Saturday morning, so there was a good long 30-40 minute wait. Once you get to the front of the line, you order your food and you're handed cups for your drinks, then you're seated. Drinks are self-serve. It only took about 5-10 minutes to get our food and the Spam and Eggs was very good. I also had banana pancakes with peanut butter - a home run! I did not get a chance to try the coconut syrup which I do regret - so make sure you try it! read more

Great location for breakfast! View well worth it! Food is step up from dennys and good local dishes. Moco loco is a big dish and tasty! Not high brow, but hearty full portions and good service. Restaurant is pretty small so come earlier to avoid the ever present line. I would gladly eat here again. Prices are higher but still quite reasonable(12 for loco moco). Great place to load up before long day. Best part was the view though. read more

Came here for breakfast and there was a super long line that moved rather quick the wait wasn't that long and I like how they take your order before you sit down by the time we got in there and sat down our food was on the table about a min after we sat I ordered a spinach and cheese omelet and a regular plat of pancakes the food was good and the pancakes were amazing nice and fluffy and taste delicious this is a good place for breakfast read more
