Don't eat here! Horrible food and too many tourists! Can I give this place no stars? A friend had recommended Eggs n Things from their previous trip, but we didn't realize they went to the first location, not this one on Wakiki beach. To start we had to wait on the stairs to order for about 20 minutes. It is supposed to be take out so seating is not guaranteed. We ordered the Portuguese sausage omelette special which comes with pancakes (they asked if we wanted to get a fruit pancake and we got pineapple), the mushroom omelette, and a fruit cup. We purchased no drinks and it still rang up to $33!!! The upgrade to pineapple pancakes cost $4 and all they did was sprinkle a few pineapples on top of the pancakes. Then we were given a buzzer and had to wait 45 minutes for our order!!! What horrible food!!! The sausage omelette was under cooked an the mushroom omelette was over cooked and bland. The pancakes has chunks of their nasty dry batter inside ( FYI they use a powdered mix, not fresh batter). And the fresh "seasonal" fruit cup was not seasonal at all and mushy. Don't go here! read more

Went here with my family waited in line for 20 mins. Once it came time to order all I wanted to do was substitute Canadian bacon for sausage on my eggs Benedict. The person taking the order went and talked to the manager. When she came back she said no substitutions. Really I said. Never going back!!! It's a big trap with no hype. read more

This establishment is not worth the price. $49 for four breakfasts served on paper plates with plastic utensils just doesn't cut it for me. Pancakes and Portuguese sausage were good (not great; hence two stars), but spam was way overcooked. Coffee was weak with little flavor. Ordering (and paying) up front, and then being seated was different. Not sure I liked that. Overall, not a very pleasant experience. read more

I'm not sure why this place has no many not so good reviews because I thought it was delicious! I ordered the Portuguese sausage omelet with pepper jack cheese and macadamia nut pancakes and my boyfriend got the Hawaiian loco moco and we both loved it! Yes we had to wait a little to be seated but that's to be expected at a restaurant right by the beach in the heart of Waikiki. You order while you wait to be seated though so by the time you sit you don't wait long before the food arrives. All in all I think this place is amazing with delicious food! read more

if you don't mind waiting in a long line for breakfast then this is the spot to eat at if you are visiting Waikiki. I ordered the Portuguese sausage and eggs and upgraded my pancakes to come with the macadamia nuts and it was a good decision especially after drenching them with the coconut syrup! finally if you are fortunate enough to get a table you will have an amazing view of the beach. read more

My First Time here heard about it. Always a Line up! but Note there are many Eggs N Things Location so don't hesitate to drive to other ones if you have a car. We lined up for about 15 minutes and you are greeted by a person who takes your order on a IPAD and then you pre pay for your food and then get seated with the number given to you Honestly I'm not really big on Breakfast with Eggs or pancakes because I can make them at home for a definitely cheaper price. But I had the Corned Beef Omelette with Cheese it was alright wasnt too much of a fan and it came with choices of certain sides I chose the 3 Pancakes (supposively what made them popular as per menu). Yes the Pancakes were delicious and super fluffy I asked for whipped cream and strawberries and on your table you have the option of Guava syrup, Maple Syrup and Coconut Syrup. I personally loved the coconut syrup and the maple syrup together but it was recommended for the guava and the coconut to be put together. I did not finish my food It was a lot and filling very filling had to take the rest home Pretty pricey. Might come back if I'm super hungry and no line up. read more

Well there is a lot of hype over this place. Because it is so busy at breakfast we tried it for dinner instead. We waited about 20 minutes and you order before sitting down. There were four of us. The food came quickly but honestly it was well priced but nothing special. We had the macadamia nut pancakes loaded with whip cream (they were pretty good adding coconut syrup) ham and cheese omelet which was flat with really nothing in it )definitely had better), blueberry and macadamia nut nut pancakes with another mound of whip cream and lastly the Hawaiian delight which I was looking forward to for the papaya. Unfortunately the papaya was masked with the whip cream and the not fresh strawberries. I would eat there again cause it's better than other breakfast places but nothing amazing. The service was good though! read more

I can't believe someone compare Eggs N' Things to the Village Inn (yuck!) line is usually long but that gives you time to go over the menu's which they have outside. It's good Diner style food! I love the Loco Moco, minced meat and eggs, as well as the waffles. It's always tidy, efficient, and friendly. It's really touristy but it's right across from Waikiki Beach so that's to be expected! We go to this one a lot sometimes you pay before you eat sometimes you don't. I suspect it depends on line size. read more

The food here is ok....not very very good actually，and the service is really bad....when i ordered our branch，their attitude was a little bit rude....i won't be here anymore....i donot know why here is so popular，but i donot recommend here，you may have more better options.... read more

Disappointing. 1) was expecting a restaurant. You order at host stand, then pay, then sit and food comes. This is nothing more than a fast food place. I asked for half n half meat and was told it was already made? What? 2) And if you want anything else you have to get up and go to cashier or host desk to order it. Staff said to me, "that's the only way". Really? 3) Don't expect more water or coffee refills. Nobody seems to scan the room with their eyes like a normal restaurant. Can't get ANYbodys attention. 4) $2.50 to upgrade side pancakes to macadamia whip cream. No macadamias IN the pancakes! WTF lol. Just a messy sprinkle on the whipped cream. Maybe one teaspoon. Too bad. I see why they have low stars. Food was ok though. read more

As our first meal in Hawaii it did not disappoint. My husband had the crab cakes with egg and I have the chicken with sautéed onion and mushrooms and there gravy... they were both amazing!! Out server Randy was so sweet and helpful. They were also doing a $1 donation for children the way he explained was very heartfelt. Once we said he was so grateful as sweet you could tell this was a cause that meant so much to him. He made sure to always keep our waters full. We also order there strawberry waffles another big hit!! Simply great food with excellent service. Thank you all for make our first meal here a memorable one!! read more

Not too sure how the food tasted since we never got inside. We stood in line only to be given a dirty menu to look at and order prior to entering the restaurant. The individual that handed us the menu was standoffish and rude. I tried to ask questions, but was told to order first, over and over. Too bad you lost our business. read more

The service was horrible, rude doesn't even begin to describe it. The food is passable and if you try and substitute bacon for ham it's a 6 dollar charge. read more

Food is decent actually. Service is garbage. As if it was slave labor. None of the work force appears happy to be there. And you have to remind them for everything. Can I get my coffee? Can I get syrup !? They give u that look like wth. read more

Order to-go if you can! We waited about 40 minutes for a table and ordered right when sat down... An hour goes by as we watch everyone else get their orders and bag after bag after bag go to the door for takeout. Mind you all we ordered was coffee, one omelet and a side of pancakes so I guess we weren't worth their time. Once we got it over an hour later by someone else (hadn't seen our server the entire time) everything was cold and the eggs were rubber. We both left feeling so much worse than when we went in stomach wise and mentally. All around horrible experience. Bad service and bad food. If only we new in advance we would've gone to the McDonalds next door. read more

I had the Hawaiian Style Loco Moco and my wife had the Portuguese Sausage. We also had a side of Buttermilk Pancakes. Food was great and price is reasonable. Pick the Coconut Syrup, and show up early! It will get busy and seating is limited. read more

I showed up right around lunch and only 15 minutes in line, ordered, and was seated. I was alone, so I was seated at the counter. Tight quarters, but it is a small space. Customer service was excellent. I had at least 3 different check on me and provide refills on my tea. Food was good. I had Hawaiian sweet bread French toast. It wasn't the best I'd ever had, but it was good. I'd go back...with someone else so I could have a table instead :-) read more

Enjoyed the veggie omelet with fresh veggies. The waffle was great too. Thx u for a great last breakfast in Waikiki.

We used to love this place. The food was delicious and the service was upbeat and friendly. We went recently for the first time in years. We were so disappointed. It felt like being in any old diner that happened to across the street from the beach. The staff seemed like they didn't want to be there and nobody was smiling. The food was okay but not even in the same league as I remember from years ago. So sad, I thought this restaurant was a great concept but it seems like it has gone down hill. read more

Well that sucks. This place doesn't take phone orders. Shitty if you're pressed for time or if you want to make the most of your day and make an order and do take out or if you're the plan ahead type or what-the-f-ever. Lame. read more

Have tried this place before and decided to try it again on my next trip to Honolulu. Was there recently and I was hungry. I decided on here again because the last time the Hawaiian loco moco was LOCO MOCO delicious. Got there at around 6:30 am placed my order, paid for my breakfast and was seated. Didn't get a seat w/ a view but it was nice and cool and I could feel the sea breeze. As soon as I was seated I was served some fresh pineapple juice (only the best) that I had ordered. For breakfast I ordered the Portuguese sausage w/ eggs (any style you would like) and I had the pineapple pancakes for the side vs regular pancakes so there was an upcharge. The server was out in no time with my food. Everything truly delicious. The salty taste of the Portuguese sausages and the fluffy pineapple pancakes with fresh pineapples in the pancakes and topped ON the pancakes were tantalising to the tastebud. The coconut syrup was of great consistency and completed the wonderful taste of my pineapple pancakes. The guava syrup was nice too. After I was done eating I did not have to worry about paying a bill because I did that early which was nice. If ever in Waikiki, and want some fluffy, delicious pancakes then I recommend here. I have four stars simply because of the pancakes. Service was good. Everyone friendly. Price point was okay. read more

Long wait. Lousy food. Poor management. Don't go. "Pineapple pancake" is just a regular pancake with a few bits of diced pineapple on top - including the inedible core. They can't even manage poached eggs properly. read more

So me and my fiancé have been here a few times, the food is always amazing, pancakes portions are a great size for the price. The reason I wanted to leave a review this time was because this experience was by far the best. We showed up 30 minutes til close, we understand that is normally frowned upon. Me and my fiancé are both in the service industry. They said they closed the list to enter but confirmed with the manager that we could dine in. We grabbed a cool spot on the wall and the gentlemen was extremely kind. They were cleaning near us and working their way to us and offered for us to move to the window booth which is a preference for us! The server even offered to carry my drinks over for me! They Proceeded to NOT act like we were a nuisance. I've never seen this type service at a diner style restaurant. Even provided us with big Togo syrups at the end with a smile. We will continue do go here as long as we live in the area! read more

Two visits to Honolulu and 2 visits to eggs and things. It is a great way to start the morning if you can put up with standing in line. It seems intimidating, both times we were at the bottom of the stairs in the sidewalk. Debated taking up offers from hawkers from other restaurants- but the line moves quick - maybe 15-20 mins from bottom of stairs. We were fortunate to get a window seat both times over looking the beach. I enjoyed their French toast and yummy bacon. My daughter had a fun looking cheese omelette that she devoured. Probably going to ya e to go one more time before we leave. Great service a little slow on coffee refills. read more

This is the craziest restaurant I've ever eaten at. I gave it one star as I had to pick something . 1. You order / pay outside the restaurant BEFORE you even enter the restaurant. 2. You are expected to tip before you eat. This makes since as the service is so poor. 3. Bring your own utensils as they run out. There were only 2 sets at a table for FOUR People. They brought us our food and we had to wait to get a fork. I never did get a knife. At minimum they should have plastic or manage their restaurant better. 4. No substitutions. They had to ask permission to swap out a pinespple for a macadamia nut pancake as I'm allergic to pineapple. They reluctantly agreed. 5. Restaurant is hot as hell - no fans or AC I've saved the very best for last. 6. Expensive for mediocre food 8. RUDE RUDE RUDE WAIT STAFF. When I asked for the 2nd set of missing silverware the guy snapped " I'm only one person I can't do everything. Instead of explaining we will receive our silverware piece meal as it becomes available he snapped. Save your $$ and eat at the McD's next door, read more

Got the Hawaiian style loco moco. Pretty good and tasty, but no wow factor but I still think it's above average and worth to try. Service was great and on point. Come early to avoid the lines. It's a pretty small restaurant but people order and eat pretty fast so the wait is minimal. There are also tables with beach views if you're lucky to get them! read more

I love the Eggs N Things on Saratoga. This place serves the same stuff, so why did I give them one star less? I believe the menu is slightly different. But the most famous stuff to eat here is still their pancakes, so that is not a discriminator. It's all about the location. It's right across the street from beautiful Waikiki beach, and if you are lucky you can get a table at the window to gaze towards the beach as you eat the fluffy pancakes. However that comes with a price: crowds and huge lines. In order to expedite the seating process, this particular branch you have to order ahead. You stand outside, read the menu, tell the receptionist what your party is ordering, and pay up front. After you pay, then the long wait starts. I don't know, but I like eating breakfast at a more casual pace and not have to make up my mind before I sit down and have a cop of coffee. Of course your food comes lightening fast as soon as you sit down. read more

Was our first visit to Oahu, and saw the line running outside the building to get into this place. What were we missing? Well, the next morning we set out to find out... What a major disappointment! I think the paper plate would've had more flavor than the waffle I had on it. I definitely missed the allure that the others had for this place. read more

Strange process...wait in line...at first desk place order... If more than one person...one stands in new line to pay and get number, while the others stand in another new line to wait for table...when paid and table ready then you sit. Do not step over threshold of doorway while waiting! We had to share a table with tourist folks who sneezed and coughed with no handkerchiefs! Then the food comes on paper plates...tiny plates and small plastic forks. Two special omelets and pancakes and one coffee and one coke...$36. Omelets filled with sliced onions instead of better portions of ham and cheese. Save it! read more
