Eggs 'n Things - Waikiki Beach Eggspress - Food was not good at all neg 5 stars no flavor at all - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Very typical all American breakfast joint with a touch of Hawaiian favorites like local moco and Portuguese sausages. Food was ok (2.5 stars) but the service was great (4 stars) . I didn't care for the chocolate chip pancakes but my husband and the kids did. Got the Hawaiian style loco moco. It was ok. I had gravy on the side because I'm trying to eat healthier. :). They offer fresh juices so we decided to get OJ and Passion fruit. Passion fruit juice didn't taste fresh at all. More like from concentrate. But again, I don't believe I've ever had fresh passion fruit anywhere either. I wouldn't come again because I hate waiting/boiling in a long line for all American type of breakfast. read more

There is always a line to get into this place, so it has to be good right? It was, but nothing special. The pancakes were nice and spongy. There was a nice selection of omelettes and they have daily specials. The coffee is hot and fresh (as it should be in Hawaii) and they kept filling the cup! So was it worth the wait?! Maybe. read more

A friend recommended this place primarily for the macadamia nut pancakes. Expect to wait about 20 minutes and know what you plan to eat when you get to the host stand as they take your order up front and prepare it while you wait for a table. The pancakes were delicious. Best served with the coconut syrup. Tried with the guava syrup too. No complaints there. Pair it with a plantation iced tea (mango infused tea with pineapple juice) and the meal is complete read more

The view is amazing if u get to sit near the street side. The service is excellent friendly worker always checking on things. The great part about it it is open and its nice n cool. The only thing I thought that was odd you order and pay before u are seated on the other hand didn't have to wait for your food that long after you were seated. Sat near the cashier as she repeated your order the Japanese didn't really understand they should have someone who is able to speak Japanese lol over great place read more

Eggs 'n Things - Waikiki Beach Eggspress - Right across the beach, breakfast while you watch the surfers - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Haven't eaten here in years so I had to introduce it to my hubby. He said the pancakes were ok and actually said IHOP was better. I had the Portuguese Sausage and eggs. It wasn't bad but it's not how I remember it. Good service though and the plantation iced tea was great. read more

Do NOT waste your time and wait in line here!!!! Don't fall for the hype. We had Loco Moco Patty was over cooked and thin. Didn't even finish my half. The pancake medley isn't even fresh fruit and the pancakes , well let's just say I would rather eat at Denny's. At least their pancakes are fluffy and bouncy Save your time and money and enjoy the smaller local places a couple of streets back. read more

Had breakfast there on a Friday morning (December 9, 2016). My wife and I found our meal to be very good. We were a bit apprehensive in the beginning, the Yelp ratings average was about 2.5, yet there was a long line. You wait in one line until you reach a person who takes your order. Then you pay cashier after which you wait in a new line until seating becomes available. We enjoyed the Express set D which was the Hawaiian Loco Moco along with Pineapple pancakes with whipped cream and two coffees. read more

Eggs 'n Things - Waikiki Beach Eggspress - Breakfast in Honolulu. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

It wasn't as delicious as it used to be. It was a pity that the staff also felt uncomfortable. The old days were better.

Great customer service, very fast and friendly when I go back to Hawaii this will be one of my must go to spots.

This place has great breakfast and great prices that only thing I would like for them to change is to order when you set down. I don't get the reason to Order at the door and pay inside then be seated I think I'll be less of a hassle for them. But non the less the food is good read more

Ick and ick. The most basic of breakfast - nothing is fresh, fruit was about to turn, eggs Benedict, on doughty white who knows what, hash out of a bag, coffee was Not good, expensive...seriously just walk next door to McDonalds at least it's fresh. read more

There's a McDonald's next door. Go there. My omelette was undercooked, the pancakes gummy, but the people were personable.

Coconut syrup is delicious!!! Waffles and potatoes were really good. Only thing is the wait time :/ read more

On my tour guide/driver's recommendation, we decided to give Eggs 'n Things a try. While 4/5 orders came out fine mine was a huge disappointment! I got the Hawaiian Style Loco Moco (first time trying any version of Loco Moco ever!) and got a bowl of mostly burnt spam and onions while the patty, rice and eggs turned out ok. A few days later, we had the same tour guide and I told him how disappointed I was about the Loco Moco and he said he's never had it burnt ever! ??? read more

Hheeeeeebbbeeeegeeebbbeeess Was excited to eat here. You place your order at the entrance and pay and tip before your seated. After waiting in line starving for half an hour, all paid up and next ones to be seated. Big giant black movement on the floor caught the corner of my eye. HUGEST COCK ROACH IVE EVER SEEN SCCUURRRRYING across the floor at a hundred miles an hour. Three seconds later they called us to our table. Another 30 seconds pass and our big plates of food are placed on our table. I sat through the whole breakfast with my legs lifted 3 inches off the floor. At one point I thought I felt something on my foot and screeched! Most stressful meal I've ever endured. No I do not recommend. Food was below average. Not that I had much of an appetite at that point. read more

My goodness It was worth the wait!!!!!!! Exactly what I was was looking for, some thing tropical and delicious pineapple pancakes with coconut or guava syrup. The staff is very efficient, your order is taken while you are in line so that your food comes out immediately as you are seated. Definitely will return on my next trip. read more

I liked Eggs n' Things, overall but it seems to be hit or miss with the food, based on my experience and other reviews. What always went right was the service and location, the long line dissipates quickly, the servers were cheerful and our seat always had a breezy ocean view. The iced coffee was also necessary every trip, don't let it pass you by, get it! The first time my boyfriend and I both got omelets, which we both mouthgasmed over. The spinach and bacon was soooo good. But to my disappointment their pancakes, which they're known for, didn't do it for me. Mac nut pancakes with guava and/or coconut syrup (pulled the half and half) and I just couldn't get the right moisture, the pancakes and nuts were too dry. It was sad, I really wanted to like them. :( read more

Long wait but worth the wait! Their pineapple mac-nut pancakes are so good! Also got 10% off the bill for staying at the Aston Waikiki Circle Hotel! read more

Still one of my favorite breakfast joints. You will wait a goodly amount of time, but it is well worth it. They make spam and eggs the way my nana did when I was a boy. The pancakes are fluffy and filling. Enough so that I usually order the rice so that I don't feel like I am wadding out the door. read more

The service is horrible and the employees are rude and not friendly .The waitress seemed bothered when we ask for cream for our coffee. No wonder they ask the costumer to pay and tip first. read more

This was our first time in this restaurant. I was still a bit full when we went for dinner so I only ordered their acai bowl. The asst mgr who took our order was friendly and very courteous. Same with the wait staff who delivered our food. I liked their acai bowl so i definitely will try it in the future visit. I just hope that they'd make their restroom cleaner. read more

If you want a Hawaiian breakfast, this is the spot! The food was super yum, service was on point too. Don't be discouraged by the line, it goes by quick. Be ready to order right before being seated. I don't understand why this place is always packed. The quality of the food is terrible. They have brunch stuff like eggs and roasts but then when you actually taste it is like everything was made of plastic. read more

Even though I'm on vacation, I decided I had to write a review for this place because it desperately deserves a better total score than what it has. I think a lot of people give it a poor review because they're not used to being patient, but that's besides the point. The service was generous and friendly, the atmosphere was quaint and pleasant, and the food was excellently cooked and served. Despite not having a lot of seating inside the restaurant, the servers accommodate the customers waiting in line outside the facade by cleverly putting the menus outside and having each party order before being seated. Because of this, we were able to get our food in relatively good time. Every member of my family of four generally picky eaters left his or her plate clean, which tells you how delicious the food was. read more

Great breakfast spot. Best to get here early because the wait can get long. Good food and great service. A definite go to spot when visit if the island. read more

Nothing really special. Definitely not worth the wait and the long line. Wouldn't say it's a must but wouldn't mind going if the lines were not that long. There is no service it's sort of like a drive thru type of deal that they run there. So u first gotta wait in a long line to put in your order than after you do that you wait a little bit longer to get seated and by the time you're seated your food is usually ready. They'll bring you what you ordered but won't check in w u. I was sort of disappointed in that regard because I did give a good tip thinking we would have service n I did it first because the didn't have cash so it was part of the tab when u first pay. Would give 2.5 but I'll round up to 3 stars read more

The reason I gave it an extra star was because of how convenient it was to get the hell out of there after eating the mediocre breakfast. Honestly not worth the wait and quality is as good as Denny's but prices are an absolute rip off. I would save the time and money and go to McDonald's around the corner. read more

Fun spot. Gluten free knowledgeable. Be prepared to wait in line but the line moves faster than you think. You'll wait in line then order and pay then wait for a table. Food was very good and reasonable priced. Would definitely recommend. read more

Delicious diner food! We went early around 8 am and didn't have to wait too long. The hosts up front were really friendly and nice! Our waiter Brandon was amazing. He was very attentive and treated us like family. The only downfall was that someone from our table had to find a parking spot and when they went to seat us they had us wait till our other person arrived, but we were all starving. So it was frustrating because we had to walk back downstairs and wait for our buzzer to go off again before we they could seat us. Luckily, no one was waiting for a table and our food came out super fast. I highly recommend the coconut syrup on your pancakes!!! read more

This was the first breakfast place my husband and I went to for our stay in Waikiki. iWeb we got their, there was a line we had to stand in to put our name on the list and the wait time was approximately 40 minutes. It was well worth the wait, the food was delicious and the service was spot on. Thank you for the quick service and delicious food! I'm we will be coming back in the future. read more

There a queues here in the morning that'll take you a while to get a seat. Before you enter the restaurant you need to make your selection, order at the counter and pay on the way in - probably doesn't play well for their staff for tips as they then just bring the food out and not much else that you come to expect with service in the US. Food was ok, scrambled eggs were a little buttery/oily and the spam was ok. Pancakes were average too, but as far as breakfasts go this place was mid range, but good for the price. read more

The wait is well worth it the quality of the food. We only ordered to go two days in a row just because the dine in wait time was 1.5-2 hours. I ordered the pineapple whipped cream Belgian waffles and omg they are delicious, along with bacon, over-hard eggs and potatoes. The quality is definitely up there. I definitely recommend even takeout which actually doesn't take long once ordered. read more

Poor service. Their hours say 4pm we arrived 5 minutes prior and we still waited 15 minutes after 4 for them to let us in. We then ordered food and the guy only put in one order instead of 2. Poor experience never coming back. read more

My favorite breakfast place of all time! The food is delicious, serving sizes are large, and prices are super reasonable. The employees are very friendly and the place has a homey feel. Not my favorite. Odd process before being seated (and they opened several minutes late). You have to order in one line, pay in another and then get seated. I hate needing to tip before I eat or know what the service will be. Coco was good...food not so much. read more

Don't eat here! Horrible food and too many tourists! Can I give this place no stars? A friend had recommended Eggs n Things from their previous trip, but we didn't realize they went to the first location, not this one on Wakiki beach. To start we had to wait on the stairs to order for about 20 minutes. It is supposed to be take out so seating is not guaranteed. We ordered the Portuguese sausage omelette special which comes with pancakes (they asked if we wanted to get a fruit pancake and we got pineapple), the mushroom omelette, and a fruit cup. We purchased no drinks and it still rang up to $33!!! The upgrade to pineapple pancakes cost $4 and all they did was sprinkle a few pineapples on top of the pancakes. Then we were given a buzzer and had to wait 45 minutes for our order!!! What horrible food!!! The sausage omelette was under cooked an the mushroom omelette was over cooked and bland. The pancakes has chunks of their nasty dry batter inside ( FYI they use a powdered mix, not fresh batter). And the fresh "seasonal" fruit cup was not seasonal at all and mushy. Don't go here! read more
