Long wait definitely not worth it. Waited 20 min in a small line to get seated. Paid $32 for 2 "crab" Benedict's that weren't crab and it didn't state on the menu that it was imitation crab. You have to order AND pay/tip before you are seated. I work in the service industry, so tipping should be based on service and quality of food. I asked one of the employees after we received the food if the crab was imitation, they said that it was, I reviewed the menu again to see if it provided that information and it didn't. I would never go back here again. Heavenly is far better. Regretted not making the walk there for my last breakfast on my trip to Oahu. read more

I went to Eggs 'N Things with my friends one morning for breakfast. Got there pretty early around 730 AM on a weekday and was seated instantly. The service was quick and nice, but the food was kinda pricey, but left you full. I got an omlet and it was okay, kinda tasted oily but washed it down with some orange juice. I would go there again but it wouldn't be a "regular" place for me to eat. read more

I don't wait anywhere! HOWEVER, we waited for 45 minutes and I had the BEST breakfast i have ever had! Great concept, stand in line and review menu, order with the Host, you're given a number and then seated once a table opens! Food is served within minutes of sitting down! My son and I both had the vegetarian Omelettes with Zucchini, mushrooms, spinach sliced on a mandolin blade to perfection, and your choice of cheese. I had Pepper cheese and my boy had mozzarella- choice of pancakes or potatoes or rice! He had potatoes, cooked perfectly and I had pancakes. The reason I mention this is the options for pancake "syrups" - guava, maple or nectar of the g-dS coconut! It was PHENOMENAL! So good they sell it to go! This is a 55 year old establishment across from Waikiki beach. Breezes, views and incredible food! Highly recommended 5* read more

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa...... not so good..... Everything is served on plastic plates with plastic utensil which was a little bit weird i felt paying this price i should be using at least some good equipment which ruin the whole atmosphere. There weren't really a service in this place compare to the original eggs n things i guess that is why they call it eggspress ~ but at least lower the price if you are not doing service or real utensil ! The food was okay i guess with the affected of having plastic utensil so it wasn't as good as the other one..... also the food is not decorated the same style as the original one seems as if they are rushing it out and the outcome is messed up dish... So a word of recommendation: avoid this place and go to the original one even if you have to wait a little bit more but it is worth it ! Discount: Show your state id, UHM student ID or Isle card to get 10 % off : ) Again go to the original eggs n things !!! read more

Somewhat disappointing compared to the original Eggs 'n Things. After you wait 30-60 min, you order and pay, then you get seated, I guess eggspress really is the idea here. Food isn't cooked as well here as the original location, and the service is almost non-existent. We ordered our usual - pancakes, corned beef hash and an omelet. Everything came out in paper plates with plastic utensils, kind of a joke for the price. Would highly recommend going to the original location on Saratoga - higher quality food, much better service and lower prices there and the wait time is about the same. The view here at the eggspress store is the main reason I'm giving it more than two stars. In a nutshell: Given the wait time, lower quality and how quick they want people in and out, this place is probably 30% overpriced. read more

This is an EXPRESS version of the Saratoga Eggs N Things. The idea is for customers to get in and get out by being able to serve themselves to drink refills and quick clean up with the paper plates & plastic silverware. Complete crap. I'm so thankful I never brought visitors here. I'm writing this review as I'm sitting in the booth. The good, orders are placed as you walk in, you pay and are seated. In theory your food should be out immediately. The bad, they seat you anywhere, at someone else's table even! They ask people to move over and squeeze more seats in. They hover over you and try to clear your table ASAP so you'll leave The food comes out cold, Undercooked bacon You get a mini spork to eat with They say get your own drinks, it's a little area out of sight with room for 2 to actually put cream in their coffee Everything is disposable, way to be green. The seating and everything was sticky There's black stuff on the ceiling and the booth walls are worn. Paint is cheap! In fairness the ala moana location was very good, this location is crap. 2 breakfasts and 1 coffee for $40 and cold eggs, undercooked bacon and bland pancakes in a grungy booth later all I can see is the faces of people who finally get to the front door to be seated with a WTF look on their face. read more

The view was fantastic, but the food was literally thrown onto a paper plate with plastic utensils and the eggs Benedict were NOT good. If you want a great view across from the ocean, then this is a good place to go. Just don't expect any quality of food or presentation effort. For a family of four (3 adults and one kids meal) our bill was $58.00!! We will not be going back. read more

Breakfast any time is great! Ordered veggie omelet and country potatoes. Salsa has a spicy unique flavor, which I loved. Omelet is open-faced and delivered face-down... Not sure if this was on purpose? Pancakes were extra fluffy and turkey bacon cooked beautifully. Hot herbal tea with honey & lemon hit the spot! Sat outside on the patio (inside seems stuffy and decor is outdated). They used disposable plates, cups, and utensils. Service was friendly, prompt, and efficient. read more

The wait was almost worth it. We waited about 45mins for large portions of food that came in paper plates. They make you choose your food and pay before you sit down and eat. It can be at an advantage when you sit and your food comes out the same time you sit down. The paper products was unexpected but I guess it makes things faster for them. The line can be intimidating but peeks the curiosity. The service is very friendly and inviting. The place is smaller than I expected. Finally got to eat here for breakfast after walking by it the last 3 days. Every time we walked by the line was crazy long and although my husband and I wouldn't mind waiting, our 1 year old daughter would. So, when we walked by and noticed the line was half as long as it usually was, we decided to try to order take out. Fortunately, if you are ordering take out, you can skip the line and place an order with the host. For those dining in, you still place an order with the host but then have to wait in one line to pay then move over to the next line to wait to be seated... seems like a lot of waiting around. We ordered the Macadamia Nut Pancakes and Acai Bowl. Both were very good! The generous amount of macadamia nuts were actually in the pancake (unlike another place where it was merely sprinkled on top and not very much of it). As for the Acai bowl, this was the first time I had one but this is my new favorite breakfast/snack food. read more

Don't be discouraged by the long lines and strange check-in, as it all moves fast and works out in the end: great prices with just right portions. Yeah sure you're going to have to wait for a table depending on what time you get there but its worth the wait. Was in the mood for a breakfast and fortunately they are great at making waffles! This place is a little different. You have to wait in line, place your orders, then be seated, and then the food arrives as opposed to the conventional way of dining... If there is such thing is conventional. Ahi tuna with eggs and pancakes are super tasty. You'll like. Self serve fountain drinks, coffee, tea, and water. Servers and other staff are pretty nice. But there is always one black sheep. I'll let u be the judge... Rest room requires a code as I assume other beach goers try to sneak in. Restroom code is 3770. You are welcome. ;) Great view anywhere you sit. But try to get a corner booth or so. Overall great food for the price. In Hawaii, twice as nice. Cheers. read more

On our O'ahu adventure we came here twice for breakfast... No huge wait cause both days we were there before the breakfast rush. Service was pretty quick and they were friendly. So, it does get a star. I got pineapple juice one morning and next morning I got guava juice. Both were delish. I also enjoyed the coconut syrup and guava syrup. So this got two stars. Now for the food... Sadly, no stars. :( First morning, I got Macadamia Nut Waffles which were OK. My SO got the Eggs Benedict with potatoes which weren't so great, especially the cold potatoes. Second morning, I got Corned Beef Hash with eggs and potatoes, which was warm and OK. My SO got Macadamia Nut Waffles, which were OK. read more

I came to eggs n things because my friend who lives in Honolulu said "you have to go there for the pancakes". I ordered the macadamia nut per her instructions. The location on the main Waikiki strip seats around 50. You order at the front, are given a number, pay for your food, and then escorted to a seat. I arrived at 6:20am and the place was already 2/3 full. The crowd this time of day was mostly Japanese tourists. If you order a coffee, they have a station which is self serve. My brew was fine. It is not rich + smooth Kona blend but your average mass produced coffee. It worked for me this early in the AM. Total price including tax $13.62 The plastic utensils are a bit bizarre. Now the food! The pancakes are very good. Light and fluffy. The nuts are on top, not baked in which works. They have three kinds of syrup. I went with the maple. I highly recommend eggs n things, and this is coming from someone who rarely eats breakfast so that is quite an endorsement! read more

Saw a long line spilling out into the street from the doors of this place and decided to see what all the excitement was about. I have learned, in my many travels, that a long wait time at a restaurant means high quality food. With this being said, this and the cramped sitting arrangements are its only flaws. I am patient and it matters not to me about the line and I fully understand the need to serve as many people as possible and why there are smaller eating placements. I had the mac nut pancakes and chocolate chip pancakes here. Both were moist, fluffy and very delicious. They have a nice variety of syrups but I found I didn't need it. The sweetness of the rich haupia sauce and chocolate chips (which there were lots!)was plenty for me. My friend had french toast brioche and was making yummy sounds for the length of her meal, so I know hers was great and tasty as well. read more

Love this place for breakfast/brunch! The coconut and guava syrup is a nice exchange from the usual maple syrup on pancakes. It does get a bit too sweet if you add too much. I'm still confused with the massive whip they put on the pancake. I noticed most people hardly touch it. My absolute favorite is the acai bowl; so fresh with all the fruit toppings and is surprisingly filling. It's essentially a bowl of yumminess. Do expect long lines even starting at 7am. You will notice due to the time difference, most people are already awake and bustling the streets as early as 6am. read more

After seeing the long lines during the week my wife and I decided to go here fairly early on a Saturday morning and we lucked out on the line as there was only 3 people in line. I will say, you need to go in knowing what you're going to get and not to expect something more. The plates are paper, the utensils are plastic and the coffee is so-so. But it is an "Eggspress" diner after all. That being said the food we good was really good. We got a breakfast for 2 combination meal that had Loco Moco, a local breakfast staple, and a full serving of Macadamia Nut pancakes. The pancakes were by far the star with a great flavor on their own. On top of that they had guava syrup and coconut syrup, as well as regular maple syrup, to pour over your pancakes. The Loco Moco is hearty and tasted decent but I can't really compare it as I haven't had other Loco Mocos to compare. If you want a hearty breakfast quickly with no frills than this is the way to go. Prices are Waikiki prices but that's to be expected in such tourist driven area. read more

This place is amazing! I don't care about the wait for great food or the paper cups and plates! The food is phenomenal! I got the banana macadamia nut waffles and they were pure heaven! The other Yelpers already accurately described the unorthodox line/seating protocol so I won't comment on that. I love breakfast food. I can eat eggs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So when I walk by a restaurant named eggs 'N things, I have to try it! My wife ate here after we people watched at the strip. The place has a diner feel and the food is what you would expect from a diner. The food is very mundane. The eggs are overcooked (still delicious but definitely not as sunny as I requested) and the fried rice was pretty much rice with oyster sauce and green onions. The sausage that we had also tasted just like a jimmy dean sausage. Again all of these things can be delicious but for the price that they were charging I will definitely pass next time. I don't want to go out to eat something that I can buy from costco and warm up myself. If you are going to go here, skip the meal and go straight for dessert. Their buttermilk pancakes with lilikoi syrup was quite nice and definitely worth trying. read more

Get here early and be patient! Worth the wait!!! Located right on the beach and they have an interesting ordering/seating style. You're a captive audience here, given you have to pay AND tip before you even sit down. We waited 20 minutes in the sun/shade for a mid morning breakfast. The waiter who served our drinks smelt really bad and it was off putting. The corner we were seated in also smelt off. I discovered too late that they don't do soy milk, so no coffee for me. Acai bowl was ok though the granola was minimal. I've had better from street vendors. Other half had the 2x4 and said it was fine. Won't visit again read more

In previous trips to Honolulu, we have eaten breakfast at the Eggs N Things flagship off of Saratoga. This year we went to the one on Kalakaua because we could walk easily, the Saratoga location has metered parking. Ordering was weird. We had to order and pay before we could even go into the restaurant. We weren't really waited on so I would suggest not bothering to tip. I threw a couple dollars down just because but I'm not sure who gets it. The guy who brought our food and didn't ask if we needed anything else? The food really wasn't that great. If you get there early enough, you can sit by the window at the limited ocean view and full view of Hawaii's homeless population which locks down park benches all through Waikiki. I'd avoid this location. read more

I live on the island and have been here a few times. The line is really long, but it's worth it. First time I sat inside by the window. We could see the beach right across the street. Wow. All in all, a very good choice for dinner! Yes, dinner! Our family likes breakfast food at any time of the day and Eggs n Things definitely goes down in my book as one if the best! My mother, who really (and I mean REALLY) enjoys crepes said that Eggs n Things is her new favorite for our vacation to Hawaii so far. As for me, I had the pineapple pancakes with whipped cream and macadamia nuts for 12.95. It was worth every cent! Just scroll through some of the others' photos and you'll probably see them; I forgot to even consider taking a picture, I guess the plate was just that beautiful. The tower of whipped cream aesthetically pleased me just as much as the taste which followed! Adding the coconut syrup as well as the guava was delicious as well, but without any syrups it was amazing, too. I had eaten half the first pancake before I realized I had forgotten to even put any syrup on top! On top of the meal, we had a window booth which looked out onto the beach (windows were open) to the stunning view of Waikiki Beach at sunset. read more

My family thought the sign looked appealing- being yellow, bright, and catchy. (good job marketing!) The food was good! I had the sour cream strawberry crepe. I wish there was a little added something to give it that pop- possibly a bit of powder sugar, some other sauce, or treat inside aside from those two ingredients. They did give A LOT!!! 3 large ones! There were definitely leftovers. The thing that killed me was the line at 7 am. I knew itd be crazy being in a touristy city but bleh perhaps my appetite was building for something crazy amazing. But yeah 45 minute wait was not the business. It was smart they order our food while in line so they can turn over tables faster! Well I knew what to expect from the previous reviews. Too be honest the way it's organized is not bad. It speeds up the service to get my butt in a seat asap. Eggs are eggs. Corned beef hash is a dressed up from the can. The pancake better than mcd and I guess what you expect from a Denny or ihop. I do think the syrups are unique ( coconut , guava) it's not bad or good but it was 10 bux for 2 eggs, corned hash and 3 pancakes. I don't think the price is bad.
