I suggest checking in online or expecting a decent wait. The location is small with limited seating, so the staff can only do so much for turnaround time. Nonetheless, the staff are VERY quick. From sitting down to getting our food, we had less than a five minute wait. I went with the crepe special which was the Ube Banana Crepes and they were wonderful. The place is old...I mean OLD!!! Needs refurbishing badly!!! The breakfast, Eggs n Portugués sausage was a 4 out of 10. Cold overcooked eggs, very cool and tasteless potatoes!!! This place has changed tremendously!! For the worst!! My husband and I had been coming here when we were vacationing and can say after 38 years it's no more for us. We went this morning and first thing they say is we are short staff so there may be a delay. Then our food comes out the Portuguese sausages were so dry, the scrambled eggs were barely cooked , and the pancakes extremely dry. You have to ask for water as well as the coconut syrup which they give you two tablespoon of it in a plastic little container. To top off the unpleasant experience with the undesirable dry and undercooked food they add a 3 % tip for employees plus the tip we leave the waiter. And of course it's not cheap! This diner has the old diner vibe in the heart of Waikiki. You can easily put yourself on the waitlist on Yelp or add your name to sign in sheet...which can easily exceed one hour wait between 8-11am. The menu offered the traditional loco moco but the description did not include macaroni salad, a staple in any Hawaiian plate. The waiter confirmed they don't have macaroni salad cause it's too hot to serve it. I ended up with the Hawaiian style fried rice served with eggs. Decent portion, but lacked any flavor. Wife ordered the Hawaiian sweet bread French toast and really enjoyed her dish. I would not return but I'm sure the wife would! Try your luck! read more

Loved this quaint spot just off the beach! While on vacation we ate here twice. The pancakes were phenomenal and my family enjoyed their meals as well. The only thing you have to keep I mind is that you have to get on the waitlist to be seated. It took a while to get seated, but when we stepped inside the restaurant, we realized that it's because there is very limited space. They get a grace card for the wait. Once we got seated, the waitress promptly came and took our order. We got our food very quickly. I'm sure they got to get those tables turned around as fast as possible. Our waitress was very friendly and did not come off as abrupt or like she was rushing us. The only negative is that we never saw her again until she brought us our bill. I ordered the ribeye with eggs (sunny side up), a side of potatoes along with the garlic shrimp. The shrimp very tasty and big! My steak was cooked like I requested, medium rare. The flavor was there, but it was a bit over salted. That's coming from a guy who puts salt on everything! I also ordered a bloody Mary. It wasn't my favorite. I'm not sure but I think that they might use V-8 for their bloody Mary mix. Maybe not, but that is what it tasted like. Also...no celery, no olives, no asparagus spears, etc. We ended up coming to a place called the Splash Bar once we left the restaurant. I will post a picture of the bloody Mary that I ordered here, which was excellent! Anyway, I left feeling satisfied and it wasn't at all a horrible experience. Just not great. read more

When we walked over, there was quite a line, but we got our seats in a timely manner. The waitress that took our order was so helpful and friendly. (An added plus is having locals who work there because you instantly feel like family and they were especially accommodating to my aunty). As far as food, my aunt ordered (I believe?) their Signature Whipped Pancakes with pineapple (she has a hefty appetite for a small woman lol), my cousin ordered their Pineapple Whipped Mochi Waffles, and my brother and I ordered the Egg Scramble n Things. Food was good, can't ever go wrong with spam/Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice (but tbh you can also just make it at home - but let me stop lol) Everything was good, until my cousin had a little misunderstanding with his order. But the waitress and staff were patient with him and reassured him that they'll help him out accordingly. We clowned our cousin afterwards and apologized to the staff about the misunderstanding. The waiter was really nice and constantly checked in on us without us having to call her.
