.., after my buddy Mario had introduced me to this place, I returned a 2nd time w/ my gf Diane. We pass this place almost everyday since it's located down the street from us. The set up inside is cozy. You may probably find more seating outside on their patio, either or is (not to sound like an old geezer but,) actually quite pleasant. Diane & I both order their corn beef w/ eggs, hashbrowns & toast. I added a side of sausage to mine being the meat eater that I am. The wait for our food wasn't long at all. Everything looked great. Portions were about right. Buttery sourdough bread always puts a smile on my face. I prefer more seasoning on my food so I had to salt & pepper my corn beef to my liking. Afterwards it was all gravy. Classic approach to the cornbeef, scrambled eggs were cooked right, hashbrowns were delicious. I enjoyed my meal & time spent here. So far the food I've had here is a 3, not bad, but not wow either. For the prices though this place is a 4. Check it out. read more

It's been awhile since my last visit. Our server was really friendly. I learned they are under new management. They have new menus but not too many changes. I was able to get my usual omelette and pancake but when our food arrived, I was missing my home fries. I had ordered without realizing that you can now choose a pancake in lieu of toast or home fries. The price worked out great. I fed myself and the kid for under $11 and our tummies were full, even had to leave a few pieces of their fluffy pancake behind. I would have to opt out of the toast next time so I can have my potatoes but will miss the home made strawberry jam that I smothered onto the buttered toast. I supposed I can get that jam for my pancake. Oh yeah, the fresh salsa seems to taste different from what I remember. I actually love it now that it has a tang. read more

Yes, it was great, 34 years ago, but now I'm going back. I have yearned to go back, remembering my experience as a young man, just moving into my first apartment and walking up to a restaurant to eat breakfast. I was alone-- and nervous to say the least. I asked for coffee, cinnamon coffee- seemingly unheard of at the time----- it was fantastic. I ordered an omelet, it was so good. I can't remember the waiter, but she seemed pleasant. Now, I'm back in Long Beach, and I'm going back to Eggs Etc between today and tomorrow. Hoping my child-like, happy anticipation will be met with future memories of joy. read more

This place is cool and opens really early for you people who like to get up at the crack of dawn. haha The food is pretty decent for a diner type place...the inside could use a revamp though, it's kinda run down in my opinion. The service was good too, and helpful with the menu. Prices are pretty good as well, so that's always a bonus. Overall, I would def come back because the food and service is good. read more

The bacon is NOT thick cut, so you would've automatically been X-d out in my book. HOWEVER, you make some kick ass banana pancakes that I have been on a mission to find. (Soul Folks in LA closed but I'll hold a candle to you!!!) The pancakes are thick and fluffy with plenty of perfectly sweet slices of banana. Some of the pieces of banana caramelized and its perfect even without butter and syrup. My GF swears by the hollandaise sauce and omelets. Something to try next time! Line moved pretty fast but my GF and I had to wait about 20 mins even though we got there at 11:30 on a Sat. The staff talks loud and it feels like you're eating in someone's home...one of the gals likes hockey; yeah! If they stepped up and got thick cut bacon, I'd give them a 5! read more

Came in with a goober breakfast date and got seated fast . This place is daaaaatttteeeed! Needs some Chef Robert Irvine magic up in here! Anywho, the staff are some nice ladies. The menu has a good amount of options to choose from and I couldn't figure out what the hell I wanted so I opted for something that was the best of both worlds. They had this sammie that came on texas type toast, eggs, bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese and my goob ordered the pork chop breakfast. So the food comes out and it was nicely sized portions. My sammie was gooooood. I don't think I every had a lunch type sammie with scramble egg inside. It worked and it was very good. The toast was oh so buttery. My zucchini was great and fried perfectly. My date on the other hand didn't enjoy his breakfast, the eggs he asked for over medium were runny as hell!!! It didn't look appetizing at all. So she got them remade stat! But he was so turned off he just couldn't get into it. Oh well, my shit was bomb LOL. I'll give this place another shot, without the goob! read more

It's been a while since I have eaten here. I think that there is some stiff competition in Long Beach for breakfast so the reviews a bit more harsh. We were looking for a change of pace and we always like to give a place another shot especially after a period of time. It was just a tad too chilly for the patio so we did the dining room. We were sat immediately, the waitress was attentive, and the people around us made it fun. We both ordered 'healthy' omelettes. Mine was the egg white special with the steamed brown rice and English muffins. Admittedly, the omelette felt a little small (maybe 2 eggs) but I'm not complaining. I think we've become so accustomed to these huge portions that this was a nice change. I also enjoyed the salsa that came with it! The rice was the surprisingly excellent... it's rare to find rice made so perfectly. The English muffins came with their famous homemade jelly, which in itself might be a great reason to come! read more

Whenever I climb out of my cave in Long Beach, disheveled and groggy, this is the place I wind up. The roving coffee elves keep my cup filled, allowing me to focus on the fabulous menu, which includes a vast selection, from yummy benedicts to tasty taters and glorious banancakes. Whether I order omelettes or over medium, the kitchen has NEVER gotten my eggs wrong. The staff is competent and friendly and their chit-chat seems genuine and not merely a transparent attempt to garner a better tip. As for the facilities, the dining room is pleasant, but not so much as the outside deck, which affords a view over the goings-on at Redondo and 6th. Finally, the restrooms are one-holers, allowing that vital bit of solitary reflection after a fine meal. Damn...now I'm hungry again. read more

Found this place when I brought my mom to her dentist down the street. The receptionist suggested it. Great local restaurant and awesome, friendly service. I ordered the Country fried steak and mom ordered the California Benedict. The food was delicious and good portions. Fresh coffee too! read more

I love coming here for brunch! The wait is never terribly long and the food is great. I enjoy getting the veggie mix and it's a hefty portion, I'm never able to finish. 10/10 would recommend read more

I have been here two times, I ordered the same thing twice which says a lot. I ordered the southwest omelette and each time I had enough to take home. My sister ordered an omelette but of course she had to alter hers but just like me she enjoyed the food. The first time we came the wait was a little longer because it was raining and no one wanted to sit in the rain. The wait was better on a sunny spring day, because duh who doesn't like to enjoy the gorgeous weather. The service wasn't bad, the servers were friendly however at times they rush by but it's because they have food to serve and when they finish serving I've already put more food in my mouth so the only thing I would be able to do is either trip them or spit out some of my food which is a no no. No worries if you can't catch your server just ask another and boom what you wanted appears. I will definitely be back!! Next time I will try the pancakes read more

I want to eat there this morning and my problem with them was their menu says one price but when they give you your receipts their charging you 1 to $2 more per item. I said you couldn't do that but they said they can never going back there again I'm going to call up every official and Long Beach to report them read more

This has always been our go to spot, its our absolute favorite. They have a variety of options for everyone, the portions are great and the staff is always amazing. The staff has been one reason we always return, they always welcome us and it's always good to see them. This is one buisness we will always support. They also allow dogs so we enjoy breakfast even more when we can bring our pup along. read more

I've been to this place twice now and the service and food have been eggcelent both times. The waitstaff are quick with seating and even quicker with the food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also really great. It has a wonderful retro feel with its booth style seating. All in all I definitely recommend this place for a breakfast or brunch to remember! read more

My girlfriend's cousin lived down the strret from this place and we would pass by and say we should eat there one time. But everytime we tried it was closed. You see we're night owls. So one Saturday morning, for some reason we woke up hella early. I suggested breakfast, she said "Hey let's try that egg place." So wedid. And the food was great. The portions were humungus. I had Popeye's favorite omelette. That's what they called it. It had spinach, mushrooms, bacon, and cheese. She had chicken fried steak and eggs. Our neice had the pancakes. All was very scrumptuous. We'll be going back next time we're awaken early enough to go. read more

I'm a fan of breakfast I just never have enough time to have it during the week but I did this time. I had the popeye omlette (with spinach). It was buttery and delish. The potatoes were also good too. Service was freindly, attentive and prompt. Coffee refills without asking. Great breakfast options and specials. I came around 8am and there was no crowd unlike weekends it's mad crazy. There's a small lot for some parking but you're best bet is street parking. I'll definitely come back again. read more

A non-pretentious brunch place in LB... (They DO exist!) 4 stars for the banana pancakes. Seriously bomb. Service could be better, servers tend to be a little slow and forgetful, but always pleasant. Although a popular brunch spot, I've never waited for more than 30 minutes to be seated (even on weekends). Other menu items are tasty as well. BANANA PANCAKES! read more

Yummy. I ordered the waffle combo, Delicious! comes with waffle, eggs, bacon or sausage. Last time I came there were burnt pieces on my waffle and messed up my friend order. Also, the food came 20 minutes later while it was not a busy time. Other than that time, my other experiences have been great. You can always ask for egg whites with no extra charge. There are outside seating too! nice to sit outside with good weathers. read more

Eggs Etc should be renamed to Butter Etc. It has been a while since we came back here and appears that they have lost their mojo. For being a Sunday morning, it wasn't too busy and the wait was only about 5 minutes. The manager who sat us was polite, but it went down hill from there. I ordered the Chicken Friend Steak and Eggs and my wife got pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon. The eggs and potatoes were loaded with butter. Don't get me wrong, I love butter, but too much totally kills it. The chicken fried steak did not any any flavor. The service wasn't great either. After we got our food, there was no follow up until we were almost done. In the meantime, if we wanted any hot sauce (not at the table), we have to get up and get it ourselves. In the 20 minutes or so when we were there, not a single coffee refill. So for now, Eggs Etc is off our list of breakfast options. read more

Eggs Etc. is one of my go-to places for a good hearty breakfast. The food is always good. Some of my favorites are the Turkey Scramble with spinach, jack cheese and a side of Squaw bread, also the standard American breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes. If you are looking fore a great local breakfast joint serving traditional American breakfast then I do recommend this place. The people are nice, service is great, local spot where the regulars go, good is consistent. You will not be disappointed. Open from 7am - 2pm daily. Street parking. They also have a small parking lot behind the building. Dogs allowed on the patio. Accommodating for families with children. Great for large groups up to 10, but would call ahead for table availability - otherwise you may be waiting a long time to sit, because the place is kinda small and they fill up pretty quick. read more

My FAVE breakfast spot in LBC. Seriously we go here so many times, it's insane. I usually order the Popeyes omelette with egg whites and home fries. YUM! Only thing is they close early (2pm) and the line to be seated can get a bit long, but I promise it's so worth the wait. We usually bring family and friends here when they visit! Staff is super friendly. No parking ( only street parking or if feeling daring park in the lot across the street at unleashed petco) Oh by far my fav is there chorizo scrambler with the home fries and it comes with one more option, sometimes I'll get the pancake (which is massive and delicious) or I'll get there toast with jam cause that strawberry jam is the JAMMMMM !!! Burgers and grilled cheese are worth trying also !!! read more

Eggs, Etc. is hands down my favorite breakfast spot in Long Beach. The house it calls home is simple, unpretentious and intimate(especially the tiny booth-like Indoor tables for two), inside it smells exactly the way an authentic, warm, inviting diner should (there's a lovely wood patio out front if you prefer to dine al fresco), the food is yummy and the wait staff very courteous. If it's a weekend, I usually try to arrive relatively early by say 9 or 9:30 AM when most often there is no wait. (Long Beach gets up and out relatively late on Saturdays due in part to sleep deprived long distance car commuters like me sleeping in to recover from long work week days) and on Sundays due to late Saturday night partying. Normally carb averse, I stick to scrambled eggs, crisp bacon and coffee. It being July 4th today and with my friend Laurel visiting from East Sacramento, I splurged and went for the granola fruit pancakes along with the eggs and bacon. OMG - the pancakes were a love explosion of yumminess. The kitchen is not huge so at peak times on weekends and holidays (guessing from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM or so) expect to wait longer for your food. If your group or family suffers low blood sugar diva syndrome, divvy up the power bar you found in your pocket from yesterday's hike. LOL Extended peak time waits for food orders are pretty much true everywhere. The parking lot is super tiny so if it's full and street parking is tough, pretend you are stopping at the neighboring pet supply store across the street. It shares a lot with the grocery store and there is parking a-plenty. The high energy owner of Eggs Etc. is pretty much always on-site and the staff truly hustles with a smile. Eat hearty and tip well! (Hey it's 2018 people. 20 percent is the right number and I hear it helps assure your place in heaven!) read more

Had breakfast here here with my husband one morning after church. We decided to look through Yelp as we always do. And Yelp led us to Eggs etc. At first i wasn't sure if i wanted to eat here since the star ratings wasn't that great and also after reading a few of the reviews regarding the service. But even then my hubby said we should give it a try anyway, so we did. We had to wait a little since everyone wanted inside seating since it was a bit chilly outside. Reviews were right about hostess, she was kinda rude and cold. Anyway, we finally got seated and our waitress was awesome. Very nice and very helpful with the menu. I ordered Popeyes' omelette and i forgot what my hubby ordered. My omelette was great and the hash browns were perfect. The only thing is the parking. Its a bit tough. Enjoy! =) read more

Arrived on a Sunday for brunch. Food is good. Not the best but it's good. Service was ok. Ordering the food was easy and the server was nice. I got the Popeyes breakfast. It was good to be honest but I needed more water because I was thirsty and the server took awhile to check up on us. She checked up on us just once and by that time, we were all ready to pay. It was a group of 4 people so yeah...service was Eh. Food is decent. The plus side is that it's pretty cheap! Haha read more

The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. Not necessarily an attractive restaurant by any means, but it had a charm to it. The staff was extremely friendly and cheerful, and made my husband and I feel welcome and taken care of. The menu had a good number of choices; however, I wish there were more egg dishes. I ordered the sausage Benedict with home fries, both of which were very tasty. The hollandaise sauce tasted vaguely like pineapples, which kind of threw me off. All in all though, it was a good place for a casual-and filling-meal. read more

What a disappointment! Tried this place bc it's in our new neighborhood. Eggs Etc - Shannon, the BEST! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Long Beach, California

First reviewed Eggs Etc more than 3 years ago, but thought it was time for an update. We've been meeting there most Friday mornings for the past 5-6 years, so we've been through a change of ownership and several staff changes. Ate there today with Shannon as our professional waitress, and once again appreciated the simple goodness of a well-cooked/efficiently served breakfast with bottomless coffee. Like most breakfast places Eggs Etc gets busy on weekends, but you can get in and out pretty quickly on a weekday. We like the fact that there are two large tables which they reserve for 3 or more people (which works well for us, since we're a group that fluctuates between 4 and 10 people from week to week). Over the years we've considered changing our breakfast meeting spot, but the large tables and excellent wait staff (plus delicious breakfasts!) keep us returning here. read more

Great coffee and fruit jam. Initial service was spot on but it took a long time to get our order then the food was cold and not quite right. However, they heated one up and hurried to replace the other order. The reheated was eggs benedict and it ruined the texture. A very home-y breakfast joint with pretty good service. I ordered avocado bacon benedict. Their side hash is amazing but the eggs benedict itself was just okay. My friend order their special with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 sausage/bacon. The pancakes were huge in diameter and super thick, she liked it. I think next time I will try their French toast or waffles, I heard it's pretty good. I will update later! Btw park on the street! It'll be easier, trust. read more

I could barely finish my food! The portion size was great and the food was awesome! The home fries were cooked just right.
