Stumbled upon this place via socials and thought id give it a try with parents. Since we were nearby shopping, I thought why not give it a try because when would I find myself back in the area. Here's a list the food we ordered: Xiao long bao - I was under the premise that it looked like a shop that would challenge din tai fung for that seat in socal, I was mistaken. The Xiao long bao, when delivered looked uniform like they werent handmade, the pork filling didn't have much pork flavor nor soup in the dumplings. There was no shredded ginger given to us. When we asked, the staff said there was ginger, but it was the Japanese curry pickled ginger. The sauce bar only had vinegar as far as I was aware. Pork & cabbage dumplings & potsicker - both of the dumplings/potsticker uses the same fillings different cooking methods. Similar to the Xiao long bao, the pork filling didn't feel fresh. Spicy beef noodle soup - In my opinion, beef noodle soup is my litmus test to see how good of a restaurant is. The price to enjoyment for me wasn't as high I will say. There were at most 6-8 small pieces of meat, which weren't as tender as I would like. The soup base was lacking in depth, there was not enough spice presence to have any personality. I've had similar places in Socal for the same price that had bigger portions. Hot & sour beef noodle soup (rice noodles) - as a collective, my parents and I decided on this and it was the weirdest experience I've had. I want to say that it was exactly what you were getting, hot & sour noodle soup. The sourness and hotness didn't meld with one another; they were fighting with each other in my mouth to see who's superior. I was excited to bring my wife and her family here as I've seen many people saying this was the best dumpling in the IE, sadly I was very disappointed. The food overall was either too salty or too bland. We unfortunately came across some steel wool in the chicken chowmein. It is nice and clean inside and the service was overall good. The manager was nice enough to void the chowmein due to the mishap. I understand things happen, but I wouldn't come back, strictly for the underwhelming food. We ordered the pork dumplings, and on my first bite, the filling was really mushy and some of the pork was still pink. I asked one of the servers if it was normal for the filling to be pink, and he just shrugged it off and said yes like it was no big deal. Later that day, both my husband and I ended up with really bad stomach aches. We can't be sure what caused it, but after that experience, we definitely won't be coming back. Was craving spicy beef noodle soup, so finally tried this spot. Service was eh, no one greeted us, so we approached staff at the register to get a table. There's plenty of seating. There's a tablet, but not sure if that's for seating or for ordering. Oh, they also have online ordering available. They have a sauce bar, which consists of soy sauce, premixed dumpling sauce, black vinegar, chili oil, & chopped garlic. I hope they'll add shredded ginger soon. We ordered Xiao Long Bao, & spicy beef noodle soup. The XLBs were pretty small in comparison to other XLBs we've had at other restaurants. These also didn't have much broth in them, but the flavor was decent. I liked that the dumpling skin itself was thin & didn't break when picked up with chopsticks. The spicy beef noodle soup was just ok. The broth had the slightest kick of spice, but not much flavor, & the beef pieces were on the chewier side/not tender. We upgraded to the hand cut noodles for an additional $3, & it came with a lot of the wide handcut noodles. However, the soup to noodle ratio was more noodle than soup. We drove 30 min to have some authentic chinese food and we were glad this didn't disappoint. The menu was actually pretty simple and the moment you step inside, you can just tell you are going to have an authentic meal. We started off with the beef noodles sub for wide noodles. This was delicious however, the meat was dry and chewy. The star of the show were the dumplings. We got the shrimp and pork boiled dumplings and my gosh, they were super juicy and flavorful. They also have a sauce bar so make sure you get your sauce to dump your dumplings in! The beef rolls and the sour cabbage dumpling soup were great as well. However, come here for the dumplings or else you'll be missing out. The service was pretty efficient, nothing to complain about. They were also quick to give us our food. Cant express this enough, but this place is THE go to for dumplings in the IE area! What a truly hidden gem and it should not be compared to DTF (ding tai fung) because it has a vibe of its own. Showing culture through food and also adding a twist to meet the market needs and wants. Went for lunch with my husband and adult son. I heard about this place on social media and decided to try it out since we were in the neighborhood. First I must say the restaurant is very clean and spacious. We were greeted and seated immediately. The menus were on the table and easy to read. Our waitress greeted us and took our drink order and gave us time to decide on our food order. There was a sauce bar where you can serve your own dumpling sauce, hot chili oil and soy sauce. This dumpling spot is pretty good and definitely worth trying. I really love the soup dumplings they're super flavorful with a lot of broth inside, and the fried rice always hits. Only downside is it's a bit pricey for what you get, but the quality is still there. Dumpling Master was a suggested spot I found on TikTok in the IE area. I was in the area and decided to try this spot out with my partner!! Upon arrival, we were told the wait for 2 people would be 30 minutes but we waited maybe less than 10 minutes which was great! We were pretty much sat almost immediately. The restaurant kind of gives "Togo" vibes rather than "dine in" but I'm assuming they make a lot of money with Togo orders so the setup of the restaurant is catered more so towards that. Our food wasn't bad! I will say that the xiao long Bao and shrimp & pork dumplings didn't really give that "fresh" feeling like din tai fung but they weren't bad! This place was delicious and so worth the prices! We also got the beef potstickers which were actually my favorite because they were juicy with the perfect crunch. The cucumber salad was so flavorful. They also have a dumpling sauce bar so you can actually make your own sauces. "Dumpling Master" offers a very good dining experience. This restaurant is clean, bright and fresh looking. The menu here focuses on two main categories: dumplings and soup noodles. On this visit, I ordered a bowl of noodles in broth, with beef brisket. It was prepared well, and the soup was tasty. I do wish they had put in a little more vegetable. Here because a claim on Instagram hailed this place as a dupe for Din Tai Fung. Checking it out. Up the street (close to the 210 freeway) from Victoria Gardens is this strip mall where Dumpling Master is situated in the south east corner. We were lucky to get seated quickly on a Sunday night at 530pm. There were pickups and takeout orders happening at the front. Oh and sign in by pen and paper and check your pick up on an iPad. The restaurant had a modern industrial feel. Kept tidy as well as the dumpling station which I imagine is difficult to do. We started with the ultra crunchy cucumber salad which was a good size plate. Probably the largest serving of any place we've been to for dumplings. The shrimp tempura initial taste was like fish and chips. A bit thick on the batter with a tar tar sauce type but more on the mayo? Sesame balls of 8 in a serving is a deal and yummy. So good served warm :) the fried rice I thought was average not bad. Ciao long bao are small semi juicy and good filling. Not really a dupe of DTF but I'm not knocking it. Boiled shrimp and pot boiled dumpling were good might even be a tad better than the XLB. Some cons: didn't offer rice bowls for the fried rice and no dumpling soup spoons for the XLB. Pros: no wait tonight, freedom of the sauce bar and food was out pretty quick. Staff friendly, large parking lot. Good place to visit when in the area. read more

I wanted to try this place because I saw reviews saying that this is the best alternative to Din Tai Fung. I would like to say that it may not be entirely true. Don't get me wrong, this place was actually pretty good, there is a lot of seats and the place was packed. Not the mention the gentleman that helped us was really nice and helpful. When I hear a place has Xiao Long Bao, I would expect the place to have different types of it, but there was only one. Not the mention that if you wanted sliced ginger, you would need to order it on a side. The Hot and Sour Soup I felt was a bit watered down, so I would personally not get it. What I would get if I was to come here again is the Beef Wrap, and the Beef Noodle Soup, as the Noodles was pretty tasty. I dont think there is a Din Tai Fung around this area, and I think anyone that wanted to have that experience you can get it here. As someone who has Din Tai Fung as a top favorite restaurant to date, I don't think this review will come to a shock! My partner and I were looking for a place that is closer to where we reside and possibly good enough to have when we're craving DTF. Through recommendation, we decided to try Dumpling Master. We ordered the following: - Cucumber Salad (Photo Included) - Pork & Cabbage Dumplings - Xiao Long Bao - Hot & Sour Beef Noodle Soup - Matcha Milk Tea with Boba We ended up liking the Cucumber Salad and the Pork & Cabbage Dumplings the best, but nothing gave us a WOW factor during our first bites; nor did we leave craving anything either. Pricing was good, if you're looking for a place more cost efficient to DTF. Portions for the Cucumber Salad and Dumpling were great. All else as far as quantity and quality was sub par. I will say; because our expectations were pretty high, the results did not come to level out the same. It's almost cruel, that we tried Din Tai Fung first, because now it seems like nothing will compare! Overall, I think if you're going to go in with a mindset that this place ISN'T going to be the same as DTF, then you will still enjoy it. Order off what sounds good from their menu and try not find anything to compare to your favorites if you have been to DTF. Youre also automatically served a glass of water when the server comes by. All the items tasted fresh. Next, we ordered shrimp and pork potstickers and the Xiao long bao. The potstickers seemed to be made with parmesan cheese which i didn't mind but wasn't expecting it. I appreciated having access to the sauces in the back. I was able to mix my garlic paste, chili oil, and black vinegar to my liking in my own dipping saucer. Most tables had seating for 4 to 6 people.
