I was craving dumplings but did not want to make the drive all the way to the 626 area for dinner. Luckily i was able to find this little shop near to home. For starters the shop is a bit small with an ambiance of a mom and pop restaurant. Not much going on just as simple as it gets for these kind of shops. The service was a hit on the slower side. We sat for a bit before we got any attention from the servers, but as soon as you order the food comes out almost immediately so i would say they made up for it in that way. One of the things that was rare for a dumpling shop was the sauce bar. I have only seen these at hot pot restaurants, but it was pretty neat to be able to have everything available to make your own dumplings sauce. All it was missing was the chopped ginger and it would've been a 10/10 on the sauce bar alone! Idk if they make their own chili oil but i felt it may have needed to have a bit more heat. We ordered several dumpling dishes as well as the fried rice and the cucumber salad. The salad was on point! Ill take a smashed cucumber salad over a sliced one any day! I was a bit disappointed with the XLB because they were lacking the "soup" part of the soup dumpling.(completely dry) aside from that the rest of the dumplings were a generous 8.5/10. The fried rice was about the least of my favorite meals. It was lacking the WOK char on the day old rice necessary for egg fried rice. It felt more like it was an "all ingredients tossed into a rice cooker and mixed up with soy sauce" type of deal. Maybe im wrong but the rice was too fresh and mushy to be proper egg fried rice. All in all this place held up nicely. I personally give the experience a 7.5/10 altogether. Decent restaurant to consider if you are craving dumplings but not craving the traffic and long ride to the 626 area. read more

Came in for lunch and had a great overall experience. The food was good, and the dumplings were soft, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The chow mein could use a little improvement, but it was still decent. The passion fruit green tea, however, was incredibly refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The customer service was good, everyone was friendly throughout our visit. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. For two people, the total came out to about $69, which felt reasonable considering the amount of food we ordered. A mess this place. Worst customer service, food was bland. I had to walk up to ask for what I needed each time. They also did not bring any water out and then lied about it that it was on the way... we ended up leaving early. Service was typical Chinese which is to say not much effort to make you feel welcome but fine. The interior is simple and clean with high ceilings and pop music playing lightly. Got beef roll, spicy beef noodles, pork and cabbage pot potstickers, and xiaolongbao. Food came out as it was ready with the noodles being first. Portions were smaller than I expected. See photos. Noodles were smaller than even a typical stingy ramen place for $16.99 (and tasted heavily of MSG), beef roll was one roll for $11 (though tasty), and potstickers were small and honestly nothing to write home about. Busy and unattenative, pretty terrible when our order didn't come after solid 30 min after ordering. I asked one of the waiters to check on our order bc it is obviously taking too long and unusual. He told me we just have to wait and didn't bother to check. After another 10 or so minutes, I had to ask another (probably manager) again then she finally went to check it out. It was very clear by then something went wrong, the order was given to others or just wasn't put into the kitchen. We were so disappointed bc we had to wait even longer. Was really excited to try this place, seeing that they have really good reviews. I took it as a good sign that there was a bit of a wait when we got there on a Sunday night! However, once we sat down and our server told us they were offering a free drink in exchange for a review, we started feeling a little skeptical. Still had hopes the food would be good at this point! This is one of those places that you really don't want to write about on yelp because it's so amazing and you're afraid that it will blow up too much and you'll be having to wait hours to get in. But. I suppose it's no secret how amazing this place is. You decided to order a little bit of everything and not one single thing on the menu was a disappointment. They have a sauce stand which is really just a table by the wall with soy sauce, chili oil, premixed dumpling sauce, minced garlic, black vinegar. Not sure what is in the premixed dumpling sauce but it there wasn't much flavor. 27. Cucumber Salad -only dish that we thoroughly enjoyed. Cucumbers were crisp and flavorful. 15. Spicy Beef Noodle Soup -not much flavor or spice. There wasn't any depth to their broth. Beef wasn't as tender as I'd like either. 3. This spot had been on my radar for a while... but now it's officially off. Unfortunately, the experience just didn't live up to expectations. The inside was very plain--nothing impressive--so definitely not a "show-off" kind of place. They brought water to the table with no ice, which was already a red flag. We tried the fried dumplings (big mistake, should've gone with boiled), shrimp chow mein (noodles were clumped together and overly long, shrimp was just okay), and bao buns (so hot I had to wait 5 minutes before eating--flavor was average). I really enjoy this place! So much criticism in comparison to DTF, but for me, this place is great because it is straight to the point with good food and I don't have to travel very far. In my most recent visit, I had the shrimp and pork dumplings and cucumber salad. They also have steamed and fried potstickers that are delicious as well. The menu has a decent amount of variety, so everyone can find something to their taste. My partner enjoyed ramen and some spring rolls. The food is made to order and served steaming hot. Their tea beverages are refreshing and balanced in flavor and sweetness. Seating arrangement is well spaced out and the music, as well as the aroma of food, fill the air. Stumbled upon this place via socials and thought id give it a try with parents. Since we were nearby shopping, I thought why not give it a try because when would I find myself back in the area. Here's a list the food we ordered: Xiao long bao - I was under the premise that it looked like a shop that would challenge din tai fung for that seat in socal, I was mistaken. The Xiao long bao, when delivered looked uniform like they werent handmade, the pork filling didn't have much pork flavor nor soup in the dumplings. There was no shredded ginger given to us. When we asked, the staff said there was ginger, but it was the Japanese curry pickled ginger. The sauce bar only had vinegar as far as I was aware. Pork & cabbage dumplings & potsicker - both of the dumplings/potsticker uses the same fillings different cooking methods. Similar to the Xiao long bao, the pork filling didn't feel fresh. Spicy beef noodle soup - In my opinion, beef noodle soup is my litmus test to see how good of a restaurant is. The price to enjoyment for me wasn't as high I will say. There were at most 6-8 small pieces of meat, which weren't as tender as I would like. The soup base was lacking in depth, there was not enough spice presence to have any personality. I've had similar places in Socal for the same price that had bigger portions. Hot & sour beef noodle soup (rice noodles) - as a collective, my parents and I decided on this and it was the weirdest experience I've had. I want to say that it was exactly what you were getting, hot & sour noodle soup. The sourness and hotness didn't meld with one another; they were fighting with each other in my mouth to see who's superior. The menu was actually pretty simple and the moment you step inside, you can just tell you are going to have an authentic meal. We started off with the beef noodles sub for wide noodles.
