My experience here was just ok. Lots of seating and minimal decorations. Place is clean. The staff were friendly but the service was slow. I was surprised because there was only one couple in the restaurant besides us and they had already received their food. They could have been busy with online orders, but I still felt like it was slow service for being nearly empty inside. They have a self serve sauce bar. It just has soy, soy mixed sauce, chili oil, and black vinegar. I ordered the Wide Hand Pulled Noodles, Green and Onion Pot Stickers, and the Beef Rolls. Wide Hand Pulled noodles were ok. Honestly not much to brag about. I thought the noodles were cooked well but the flavor didn't really stand out to me. I believe it's served with chili oil, a mound of minced garlic and some vegetables. Outside of those ingredients I thought it needed more flavor or substance. The beef rolls were ok to me as well. I liked how crispy the roll was and size. Good portions of sliced beef served with cilantro. It was refreshing but the meat was generally cold with some warmness provided by the roll. But that quickly faded. Would prefer it to be warmer. The highlight was the pot stickers. Beef and onion were good. Really enjoyed the presentation of the dish. The edges of the pot sticker were really thick. Almost chip like. I enjoyed it as much as the dish itself. Would get it again. Overall I thought the food was ok. I'm sure there are better highlight dishes than what I ordered but they weren't selected this go around. We checked out Dumpling Master right before the dinner rush, which worked out perfectly. We ordered the Chicken & Corn, Shrimp & Pork along with the Xiao Long Bao dumplings. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. It's spacious, has plenty of natural light, and feels clean and inviting. One thing I really liked was the sauce bar. It was well organized and made it easy to customize your own dipping sauce. Nice touch, and everything we mixed up was delicious. The food itself was very good. The Chicken and Corn Dumplings were flavorful, and the Xiao Long Bao were worth the wait once they arrived. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the Xiao Long Bao took a little over 30 minutes to come out. I understand they take longer to prepare than other dumplings, but considering we ordered before the restaurant got busy, it felt like a long wait. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal and would absolutely come back. Service was typical Chinese which is to say not much effort to make you feel welcome but fine. The interior is simple and clean with high ceilings and pop music playing lightly. Got beef roll, spicy beef noodles, pork and cabbage pot potstickers, and xiaolongbao. Food came out as it was ready with the noodles being first. Portions were smaller than I expected. See photos. Noodles were smaller than even a typical stingy ramen place for $16.99 (and tasted heavily of MSG), beef roll was one roll for $11 (though tasty), and potstickers were small and honestly nothing to write home about. The server was very very nice and patient . Busy and unattenative, pretty terrible when our order didn't come after solid 30 min after ordering. I asked one of the waiters to check on our order bc it is obviously taking too long and unusual. He told me we just have to wait and didn't bother to check. After another 10 or so minutes, I had to ask another (probably manager) again then she finally went to check it out. Was really excited to try this place, seeing that they have really good reviews. I took it as a good sign that there was a bit of a wait when we got there on a Sunday night! However, once we sat down and our server told us they were offering a free drink in exchange for a review, we started feeling a little skeptical. Still had hopes the food would be good at this point! We ordered the pork dumplings, and on my first bite, the filling was really mushy and some of the pork was still pink. I asked one of the servers if it was normal for the filling to be pink, and he just shrugged it off and said yes like it was no big deal. I was craving dumplings but did not want to make the drive all the way to the 626 area for dinner. Luckily i was able to find this little shop near to home. For starters the shop is a bit small with an ambiance of a mom and pop restaurant. Not much going on just as simple as it gets for these kind of shops. The service was a hit on the slower side. We sat for a bit before we got any attention from the servers, but as soon as you order the food comes out almost immediately so i would say they made up for it in that way. One of the things that was rare for a dumpling shop was the sauce bar. I have only seen these at hot pot restaurants, but it was pretty neat to be able to have everything available to make your own dumplings sauce. All it was missing was the chopped ginger and it would've been a 10/10 on the sauce bar alone! Idk if they make their own chili oil but i felt it may have needed to have a bit more heat. We ordered several dumpling dishes as well as the fried rice and the cucumber salad. The salad was on point! Ill take a smashed cucumber salad over a sliced one any day! I was a bit disappointed with the XLB because they were lacking the "soup" part of the soup dumpling.(completely dry) aside from that the rest of the dumplings were a generous 8.5/10. The fried rice was about the least of my favorite meals. It was lacking the WOK char on the day old rice necessary for egg fried rice. This spot had been on my radar for a while... but now it's officially off. Unfortunately, the experience just didn't live up to expectations. The inside was very plain--nothing impressive--so definitely not a "show-off" kind of place. They brought water to the table with no ice, which was already a red flag. We tried the fried dumplings (big mistake, should've gone with boiled), shrimp chow mein (noodles were clumped together and overly long, shrimp was just okay), and bao buns (so hot I had to wait 5 minutes before eating--flavor was average). I really enjoy this place! So much criticism in comparison to DTF, but for me, this place is great because it is straight to the point with good food and I don't have to travel very far. In my most recent visit, I had the shrimp and pork dumplings and cucumber salad. They also have steamed and fried potstickers that are delicious as well. The menu has a decent amount of variety, so everyone can find something to their taste. My partner enjoyed ramen and some spring rolls. The food is made to order and served steaming hot. Their tea beverages are refreshing and balanced in flavor and sweetness. Seating arrangement is well spaced out and the music, as well as the aroma of food, fill the air. Stumbled upon this place via socials and thought id give it a try with parents. Since we were nearby shopping, I thought why not give it a try because when would I find myself back in the area. Here's a list the food we ordered: Xiao long bao - I was under the premise that it looked like a shop that would challenge din tai fung for that seat in socal, I was mistaken. Pork & cabbage dumplings & potsicker - both of the dumplings/potsticker uses the same fillings different cooking methods. Similar to the Xiao long bao, the pork filling didn't feel fresh. Spicy beef noodle soup - In my opinion, beef noodle soup is my litmus test to see how good of a restaurant is. The price to enjoyment for me wasn't as high I will say. There were at most 6-8 small pieces of meat, which weren't as tender as I would like. The soup base was lacking in depth, there was not enough spice presence to have any personality. I've had similar places in Socal for the same price that had bigger portions. Hot & sour beef noodle soup (rice noodles) - as a collective, my parents and I decided on this and it was the weirdest experience I've had. This dumpling spot is pretty good and definitely worth trying. I really love the soup dumplings they're super flavorful with a lot of broth inside, and the fried rice always hits. Only downside is it's a bit pricey for what you get, but the quality is still there. We drove 30 min to have some authentic chinese food and we were glad this didn't disappoint. The menu was actually pretty simple and the moment you step inside, you can just tell you are going to have an authentic meal. We started off with the beef noodles sub for wide noodles. This was delicious however, the meat was dry and chewy. The star of the show were the dumplings. We got the shrimp and pork boiled dumplings and my gosh, they were super juicy and flavorful. They also have a sauce bar so make sure you get your sauce to dump your dumplings in! The beef rolls and the sour cabbage dumpling soup were great as well. However, come here for the dumplings or else you'll be missing out. The service was pretty efficient, nothing to complain about. They were also quick to give us our food.
