Just came back from a trip to Colorado Springs, where we drove to Denver and enjoyed dinner at Tasty Pot there. We enjoyed dinner so much, we were thrilled to find out there was one restaurant here in California. Obviously, we had to check it out. We noticed that the menu is slightly different, and yes, the food was also slightly different but good, we did enjoy dinner. I was a little disappointed as the restaurant in Denver had this Thai Curry hot pot that I loved but, unfortunately it wasn't offered at the restaurant here in California. The ramen here is pretty good. I usually get the tonkotsu ramen and it comes loaded with toppings. They also partner with the shrimp place next door and you can order seafood boil as well. It's on another menu that you have to ask for. They are attentive and the pricing is decent. I have yet to try their hot pot but they have a lot of options. Accidentally ended up here after confusing this spot for another, but decided to give this place a chance. We were a fairly big group and had made a reservation, but upon checking in, the vibe was a little off. Ordering and receiving our food was fine, but was a little disappointed the servers never came by to ask if we needed anything or if anything was missing. We had one person in our party never receive his food; turns out the server never put in the order and only found this out mid-way through the meal after flagging our server down. The server asked if he still wanted it, but it would basically come when everyone was done with their meal. Mistakes happen of course, but was surprised that the server didn't apologize and made it seem like our party was to blame. Very bizarre and left us all with a bad taste. My first time and I was not disappointed. I ordered delivery and got the Veggie Pot with the Thai broth in a medium spice level. I added a side of beef slices and a peach lemonade. The veggie pot was full of fresh vegetables: broccoli, taro root, tofu, tofu skin, green beans, and so much more. There were glass noodles at the bottom of the bowl that had soaked up the broth and were tender and delicious. The beef slices were dry and packaged in a side container. I wish they had been placed into the hot pot to soak up some of the flavor, but that was my fault, I should have stated that in the notes. The side of rice was topped with black sesame seeds, but there just wasn't enough! Not sure if there are refills in the restaurant, but I would probably order an extra side of it next time. The dipping sauces were tasty and went well with the beef and the vegetables. The peach lemonade was tasty. Nothing exceptional about it, but it was flavorful. It tasted more like a peach lemonade tea, but I wouldn't mind getting it again. Overall the food was delicious, I am full and still have enough leftovers for another meal. Came during dinner time on a weekend, and even though they had a long waitlist, for a party of two, they took us in fairly quickly. We ordered the hotpot and it came out exactly as pictured. I noticed on the menu they also offer boba, toppings for your hot pot, and ramen. I noticed a bit later that someone order seafood boil. They have a lot going on here. I used to live in San Jose and would go there with friends a lot so when I heard they were opening one near me I got so excited! My opinion may be biased bc of the nostalgia I get from it, but I truly do love their hot pot! Every time I've been to this location service has been very efficient. I've never had a bad experience there but service has never been over the top amazing so it's just good, I have no complaints! My eldest daughter and I came here for Monday night dinner. Can't believe it has been about one year since our last visit. We wanted to try something different besides our go-to Seafood Lobster Hot Soup. Decisions, decisions! Well, we went with one Herbal Hot Soup + vermicelli with medium spice to be shared between us... which did not disappoint. Soup was very flavorful. Ingredients were plentiful, but wished there was one more head shrimp and one more quail egg. Didn't care for the chicken wing. Black chicken would have been better for the herbal soup. Spice level was perfect! Staff was very nice and attentive. They would come back to our table regularly without us asking to refill our soup with the actual soup base not just water... I think we had 3 refills. Thank you! We also got a couple drinks... one Mango Green Tea and one Old Plum Juice and Lemon. Thanks to my sis for introducing me to Tasty Pot. She's been here plenty of times and I've been here twice. Each time, I always get the beef pot with medium spice. Everything like the cabbage, fish balls, fish slices etc were so delicious and they give you plenty of meat too. You can choose rice or glass noodles and I always prefer the glass noodles. Amongst my family, they ordered seafood, herbal and lamb hot pots. Everyone genuinely enjoyed what they ordered. Service has always been good, food always arrives in a timely manner even though it may be peak dinner hours. Besides hot pots, they have a good list of ramen options, some appetizer snacks like popcorn chicken and a nice beverage menu. This place is so good! The spicy miso ramen was amazing the broth was super tasty and had the perfect kick to it. You can tell they really know what they're doing with their ramen. I also got the beef hotpot, and that was fire too. The beef was really tender and flavorful. On top of that, the food came out way faster than I expected, which is always a plus when you're hungry. Came here to eat lunch at 11 AM on a Friday. There was not a lot of people in the store, but more people came in as we were eating. The service was attentive. I ordered an herbal hot pot. It came with one free green tea drink as it was lunchtime. This offer lasts until 3 PM. My hot pot was delicious! It was my first time having the herbal flavor. I ordered it in a medium spice. It did not look red at all, but the spice was somehow put into the broth since it was still spicy. Since I like chili, I used the dips on the side to add more heat to my broth. It felt healthy. I liked that the toppings had many vegetables. The chicken wing was disappointing, but everything else was good. My friends got the beef hot pots. They loved it! I love how you can customize everything. I was able to eat most of my hot pot in one sitting. I asked for more broth and took it to go since the soup felt nourishing. It was a lightly chilly Saturday evening date with my hubby and there was a 5 minute wait per their tablet dock. We were seated in a 2 seater table which was a little snug but it worked. We ordered the lamb and beef in regular size (good for 1 adult) There are only a few items that were large in size. The lamb was good (I wish it had fish balls but) it had 2 small meatballs, cabbage, pork blood rice cake, vermicelli noodles, cilantro, enoki mushrooms, kamaboku, tofu skin, the tiniest clams I've ever had, lol and 1 imitation crab meat stick. So I would say the soup was lacking quantity. I also asked for mild spice but it was more medium so I couldn't enjoy the broth as much which was a bummer. Pro Tip: Pot already comes with vermicelli noodles but they will still ask if you want vermicelli noodles or white rice on the side. I prefer variety so I got white rice and enjoyed the vermicelli that was already included in the soup. The fruit and milk tea options were appreciated. I got the grass jelly milk tea, it was pretty good! A little too sweet so next time, I might ask to lessen the sweetness level. The staff was attentive and refilled our clear plastic water cups (with ice) a few times. They also offered to add more soup base in our pot which I thought was nice. The ambiance was busy, loud, warm from all the soups & there were two TV's. Families and friends gathered for dinner, some sniffles circulate from the warm & spicy soups. My only 2 con's were not food related: 1. The line for the ladies restroom was super long! 2. The fact that we were 2 people seated in a 2 seater table meanwhile 1 lady had a table with 4 seats all to herself. That was a bit odd to us but not a game changer. It had not only various tofu toppings like soft tofu, fried tofu, and tofu skin but also my favorite - steamed pork blood sticky rice, originally from Fujian, China, where I'm from! There were also many fish and beef balls as well as imitation crab, beef slices, clams, mushrooms, intestine, and more. It was evident the ingredients were of high quality and the attention to detail when building out this Taiwanese hot pot really added to my enjoyment of this hot pot. Food was plentiful and pretty good. Overall, a positive first visit. The Tasty Pot in Rancho Cucamonga is located on 4th Street, a few blocks down from Ontario Mills (next door to Panera). There is plenty of free parking shared among the establishments and shops in that center so if you don't find a spot immediately, be patient as people are consistently moving in and out of the lot. My order consisted of the Beef Hot Soup, a Taro Milk Tea, and a side of Steamed Dumplings. I was impressed with large quantity of fixings I received in the soup as well as the mechanism to keep the hot pot warm throughout the meal. The dumplings were prepared well to complement the soup. The Taro Milk Tea was surprisingly delicious. A solid meal and first visit. Though we arrived near to their posted closing time, staff never made us feel rushed to hurry up and consistently checked in on us to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. I was doing some diet for my health that not allowing me to eat carbs, so I chose this place as one of options (the other one was Korean BBQ). The place is quite nice and parking was quite a lot. My husband ordered Beef Hot Soup w/ rice and I ordered Lamb Hot Soup. Since I could not eat any carbs, none of 'step 3' options which are rice or vermicelli I could have, so I asked if I can have tofu as substitute, and the waitress says 'NO, you have to choose only those 2 options, if you want tofu, that will be extra charge' As first experience, this was not good impression, as having this kind of business, you would need to anticipate some restriction of the customers and being flexible. Secondly, My Lamb soup also was having 'gamey' smell, they should put some herbs to have this smell 'reduced' as it was not pleasant experience eating with this smell. So, I highly won't recommend this menu. The last thing, I am against to be given bill, when we were still busy chewing as our meals were half left. That is not nice service at all, as if we will runaway in the middle of enjoying our food or other feeling was we have to leave restaurant ASAP. Management should look into this matter seriously. Ugh, Tasty Pot. I used to have this place occasionally back when I lived in SD (and the Convoy location had yet to catch on fire), but I haven't had it in the past 3 years. With it starting to actually be cold, I decided that I needed some individual hot pot that I was in no rush to finish because it stays warm forever! I don't eat red meat/much seafood, so I appreciate the Healthy Veggie Hot Pot. My favorite thing in here is the half cob of corn and the earwood mushrooms, of course. But those are just 2 out of probably 10 vegetables featured in this soup. Amazing! I was crying out of happiness while eating it. Soup and vegetables are good, guys. And they played some Itzy songs. Had to stop myself from giving the patrons of Tasty Pot the performance of a lifetime! This time, I tried it spicy which is based on a Thai chili flavoring. Although it was delicious, I think I prefer the plain version. It was vinegary and had the chili kick to it, but if I'm at Tasty Pot, I'm not super in the mood for a Thai soup. My only other complaint about the soup is that it was half cabbage. I'd prefer more tofu skin or other vegetables, but I get it. The lunch special includes rice and a tea.
