Even though the front of the outdoor strip mall is currently under construction, it's absolutely worth the visit. The food is outstanding and service top notch. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. They also offer Dim Sum, which was a pleasant surprise and definitely a highlight, delicious, and well prepared. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcomed despite the construction. The whole place is going under construction which could be good but your have to navigate the steel structures. You can't walk on the sidewalk. Today we did what most Asians do on Christmas and are at a Chinese Restaurant. They were busy around noon. The place is pretty small for a big group. We had a party of 15. They had 2 large round tables. I asked for the tables to be pushed together. She accomodated which was so nice of her. It was still very tight to maneuver around. Good was much better as well as service today. Poor lady had to wait on the entire restaurant but she did well. The food was hot and fresh. I asked for low salt in the eggplant but I should've asked for low salt on everything. The chow mien and the pineapple rice was too salty for me. When your total is $40 or more, you have the option for complimentary item, I opted for dessert-sesame balls. My eggplant & pad see ewe were pretty good, not better than most but still tasty. Hubby's Mongolian Beef, on the other hand, was not up to par. The beef was a bit tough to chew. Plus, the menu said it comes with vegetables and all there was-- lotsa onions (it should've just mentioned that, not "vegetables" as if there were 2-3 more kinds cooked with it). Love this place! The dishes are great and prices are amazing for all the food you get. It's a small restaurant with a few tables for big parties. They are pretty quick with taking orders and bringing out the food so it's a good place to come with family and share the dishes. They also give you a free appetizer if you spend a certain amount so that's awesome for them for this! My favorite dish is the xiao long bao, and it's a must every time I go. Ordered for take out Sichuan pepper chicken- asked for very spicy. Did not get very spicy. In fact, there was no hint of spicy at all. Super disappointing. I've had this dish at many restaurants before and this is honestly the worst I've had. The chicken has no flavor whatsoever and it has this weird sweet aftertaste. The only good thing about it is that it is very crispy Sweet and sour whole fish- very good execution, no bones at all. I'm no expert for this dish but the batter was a bit odd - it made the fish taste very grainy. Fish also had no taste. The sweet and sour sauce is a very Americanized sauce taste. Shredded vinegar potato- it's not bad but it's not what I'm used to. Not enough vinegar and they use a lot of garlic in this dish. It's literally garlic shredded potatoes at this point. Fried rice - again, standard and boring. Not much of a different taste than white rice, tbh. The XLB dumplings are pretty tasty - small (they are free if you spend over $40) but good. The place is really have thick Chinese ambiance through its decoration. I went today for a takeout order and spent $136 to give this place a shot. Oh how DISAPPOINTED I am with their overall service and food. We placed the order at 6pm IN store and was told it was going to be a 30 min wait. It was an hour....fine, I understand restaurant can get very busy on Sundays and was okay with it (sorta..) but then I saw a customer come back and return an item that they mistakenly gave them. They then placed the item into MY order bag. As a business I think you should never accept food items back once you send it out and especially give it to another customer !! Just make a new one next time please.. if I'm spending $136 i don't want none of these concerns. The food was of course cold and us not trusting the sanitary of the food when we got home with it.
