Wow!!! This place is a hidden gem! I'm not in Rancho very often, but I came across this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try... and I'm so glad I did! On our first visit (a Tuesday), we ordered the beef chow mein, orange chicken, spicy wontons, and spicy cucumber salad. Everything was incredibly flavorful and clearly made with love. The beef chow mein really stood out, and the spicy wontons were hands-down the best I've ever had. The food was so good that we came back the very next day and ordered the exact same dishes and it was just as amazing the second time around. After our first meal, I even told my girlfriend, That's the kind of food that heals the soul. I think this is a family-run business, and you can really tell they take pride in both their food and their service. This place is an absolute must try. The restaurant has a small, cozy vibe that makes it feel authentic and casual. Our favorites were definitely the cucumber salad and the garlic green beans. The cucumber salad was incredibly fresh and had such a distinct, refreshing flavor. The garlic green beans were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. We also loved the wontons in spicy sauce -- super satisfying with just the right amount of kick. The dumplings were delicious as well and clearly one of the highlights of the menu. My group also really enjoyed the chive pancakes. We ordered quite a lot of dishes, and while the rice, noodles, and Mongolian beef were more on the average side, the dumplings and appetizers really stood out. We came in craving jiajiang mian and left so happy with everything we ordered! The pork xiao long bao were perfectly cooked -- and you can see a woman in the kitchen making them fresh. It instantly reminded me of watching my mom make them when I was little. The sautéed green beans were super fresh with great flavor. The beef roll is one of my favorites -- so good. I really wanted to like this place based on all the really good reviews and the packed dining room as I entered, but my to-go order just didn't fit my expectations. I placed a to-go order online and arrived in 20 minutes as stated when it would be ready. I did like that the prices are reasonable and they are not price gouging you like some other unmentioned restaurants in RC. At the counter, the very nice female cashier took my payment and packaged my order with the sauces, napkins, and utensils. One thing I did notice on walking into the restaurant was that it was very stuffy and hot, so not sure if their a/c was working, but it was very uncomfortable. I didn't want to delay my enjoyment of these 3 dishes that I ordered, so I stopped in a parking lot to taste the food while it was still fresh. Orange Chicken: I read so many reviews on how this was the most amazing orange chicken, but this was the least liked dish that I ordered. First of all, it was nicely packaged in a plastic to-go container, but it didn't have any way for the steam to escape, so what I received after a 5 minute drive from the restaurant was a soggy, lumpy mess of battered chicken. The chicken is made with the white/breast meat so it's very dry and the batter may have been good when first cooked, but by this time it was very soggy. The orange sauce was practically nonexistent at this point due to the batter steaming inside the container and soaking up all the sauce. I ate two bites and was done. I probably could have managed to eat it but the chicken was so dry. I'm sure it's much better when eaten in person. Green Beans: I really liked the green beans. I asked to add garlic since the menu description didn't specify if there was any, but they must have understood it as asking for extra garlic cuz there was a lot, but I was not mad about it. I love garlic. The green beans were slightly crunchy, maybe not as much as I would have liked but they were flavorful and delicious and I could eat them all day long. Vegetable Chow Mein: The chow mein was also really good. I wasn't expecting the Pad Thai/linguini shaped noodles, but there's something about them that just works better, in my opinion, than spaghetti noodles. There were a few vegetables, not as many as I would have liked as this was a vegetarian dish without meat. There were some broccoli, carrots, cabbage, and water chestnuts. The sauce was flavorful and the noodles were covered in sauce, no dry noodles here. I will update my review soon, because I think maybe ordering to-go is not the best way for this type of restaurant. Everything is made fresh and to order and is best consumed on premises. My next visit I will be dining in to experience what others have joyously experienced and update my review then. read more

You know when you have really great broth and you just feel healed/like a new person afterwards? This totally fit the bill. The noodles were also a perfect texture. The beef steamed buns were flavorful and delicious, with great texture on the bun. The soup dumplings were also very flavorful and delicious! The man helping us seemed to be the owner or part of the family and he was very kind and helpful (even checking to confirm I knew the mustard green noodle soup would be a bit sour! Definitely everything here is shareable the soups we tried had good flavor and big portions. The dumplings were average nothing great but they were not bad either. Cucumber salad I felt was to garlicky, and I didn't like the size of the cucumbers, my daughter did like them just a difference of opinions. The beef bun was on the dryer side. Service was a little slow, considering it was our table of four and one other table. But everything came out fresh to our table hot you can tell it was just made in the kitchen. My family and I were looking for a dim sum place, but there were none near the area we were at, so we decided to check this place out instead. It's a fairly small but had enough space to move around. Clean, especially the restroom was one of the nicest, cleanest restrooms I've been to in an Asian restaurant. The food was okay. The order of zha jiang noodles was plenty--tasty though the noodles were on the soft side and lacked the classic chew. If you're wanting the Korean-Chinese style, this is not it. The pan fried dumplings (not pictured) were standard. I wish it had the crispy skirt on them. Beef rolls were not bad--seems plain and didn't have enough meat. Xiao long bao was juicy and good. What we liked most was their pan fried buns, they were good-sized, perfectly crispy on the bottom, with juicy and tasty filling. I understand it's a small shop with a small staff, but the service was pretty slow. I know they were trying hard to service everyone, but it felt like forever waiting for every item we ordered. It definitely looked like a newer restaurant, a little bit small but cute and very clean. Zha Jiang Noodle- The portion was huge! They used thick noodles and also gave a portion of the sauce on the side in case we needed more sauce. The sauce itself is salty but with the noodle, it was good! Spicy Beef Noodle Soup- The broth was delicious and they gave a lot of noodles and meat. Enjoyed this and will get it again! The food was bland except string beans and the beef rolls were particularly bad. It was like they were just wrapped in a tortilla and not heated. Also, it wasn't wrapped tightly or not enough meat in it. The crispy walnut shrimp tasted disgusting that it was a like a day old food. The price for the food just isn't worth it. I was in the area nearby and saw that this place had xiao long bao ($9.99) and zha Jian mian ($10.99). They have a good amount of seating inside. I got the xiao long bao along with a zhajianmian which is a soybean based noodle dish. The noodles were fresh and firm. The sauce was with chopped ground pork in a salty thick sauce. The cucumber salad is super fresh and flavorful, the green beans are perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the wonton soup is so delicious. We also loved the chicken chow mein and chicken fried rice, which are both packed with lots of flavor. The beef and broccoli was tender and delicious, and the orange chicken had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Came here on a rainy night and was surprised to hear the rolling Rs of the folks speaking in the back signaling that they're actually from northern china. Restaurant was spacious and was pretty quiet for a Wednesday night. Ordered a jajiangmian, fuqi fei pian (spicy tendon), shengjianbao (pan friend dumplings), Xiaolongbao and an order of sesame balls. Everything was very flavorful. I think the pan fried dumplings could've been better had the oil been hotter when they put the buns in the pan (the buns tasted of oil) but everything was good. Newly opened restaurant in RC. Glad that more Chinese places are opening in the inland empire. Service is good, restaurant is clean, ambiance is so-so. Unfortunately, food is just average at best. For the Xiao Long Bao, the perfect ratio is 20-30% soup, 70-80% meat but here it's not. That's why the XLB sinks and doesn't maintain that upright & structured shape. Upside is, it's better than China Republic's XLB. For the spicy wontons, I don't think they make it by hand. Tastes like it's from a central kitchen. The skin was super hard. Beef Noodles... The broth was very watery, lacked flavor. The noodles itself were also hard. Walnut Shrimp wasn't too bad but too sweet. Mongolian Beef lacked flavor but also too sweet. Baby Kailan was ok, you can probably make it at home yourself. Pan Fried Buns.. do not order. Their way of making isn't the traditional chinese way. Meat pie was alright but 626 area has better ones. Overall, you can get better Chinese food from either Seven Grams in Victoria Gardens (for XLB, Spicy Wontons and Beef Roll) or Changan Kitchen in Ontario (Beef Noodles, Fried Rice, Vegetables, Pan Fried Buns). read more
