I was told about this spot from a friend who works nearby. I was returning home from an appointment and since I was passing the area decided to try it. I was greeted by a very warm and pleasant young lady. Sharing I had never been there before, I asked what was the most popular entree's on the menu. She asked one of the chefs I presume. He mentioned a few items and I asked him to point them out on the menu since I didn't really understand what he was saying. I ended up trying the Wonton noodle soup, the Chicken Xiao Long Bao (dumplings ) and a shrimp fried rice. Shrimp fried rice is a staple to me and it was tasty as expected. But I also enjoyed the dumplings. Although they appeared to look dry, when you bit into them, you were rewarded with chicken and a juicy broth. I also enjoyed the noodles and vegetables in the wonton soup more than the wontons. I ordered mine to go and was told it would be about 15 minutes because they had just opened. We tried xiao long bao, shrimp fried rice, and beef noodles soup. They all came out at the perfect temperature and were nicely presented. Xiaolongbao was juicy and meaty, served with ginger-soy sauce for dipping. Shrimp fried rice was tasty with perfect rice texture. After 3 amazing visits, I had to drop a review. This local gem needs more attention! The food is AMAZING and authentic. From the delicious dumplings, to the fantastic fried rice, to the garlicky crunchy cucumbers, to the house made chili oil (which I would buy in bulk if allowed) this spot is great. I tried the spicy beef noodle soup today because last time I was here, multiple tables had it and it looked great.... It really is! Fresh noodles, flavorful beefy broth, tender beef and u have to add a little black vinegar and as much chili oil as your pallet can handle! You can thank me later! Service was fast and attentive. Wonton noodle soup: really enjoyed the broth which was very flavorful. Tasty chicken and shrimp pieces. Lots of celery which I'm not a huge fan of but didn't mind it here Pork XLB: solid, tasty, nice and soupy, amazingly priced Black gold molten lava buns: runny egg custard filling, aesthetically looks cool, I think overpriced relative to other items (and able to get elsewhere for probably cheaper) but still enjoyable Beef potstickers: my least favorite just because I felt they weren't as crispy as I wanted. I'll definitely come back in the future. Service was great. Foods solid and for a great price. Hidden gem truly, this place seriously had the best beef onion dumplings. it was so juicy and full of soup flavor. I've never had dumplings these good in my life. We came in craving jiajiang mian and left so happy with everything we ordered! The pork xiao long bao were perfectly cooked -- and you can see a woman in the kitchen making them fresh. It instantly reminded me of watching my mom make them when I was little. The sautéed green beans were super fresh with great flavor. The beef roll is one of my favorites -- so good. Fried rice was solid and satisfying. And the jiajiang mian? Loved that they add cucumber -- it gives it that refreshing crunch, just like my mom used to make. We love this mom and pops restaurant. The soup dumplings are juicy, flavorful, with the right sag when you hold the dumpling with chopsticks. The skin isn't too thick either. I prefer the spicy pork soup dumplings. I think it's just a tad of Sriracha but it goes well with just enough kick. The spicy beef noodle soup is also delicious, though I'd prefer a little more beef. Noodles are good enough but nothing to write home about. The fried rice is also surprisingly good, with good "wok hei". Service is fast and for a Chinese restaurant, good service. I really wanted to like this place based on all the really good reviews and the packed dining room as I entered, but my to-go order just didn't fit my expectations. I placed a to-go order online and arrived in 20 minutes as stated when it would be ready. I did like that the prices are reasonable and they are not price gouging you like some other unmentioned restaurants in RC. At the counter, the very nice female cashier took my payment and packaged my order with the sauces, napkins, and utensils. One thing I did notice on walking into the restaurant was that it was very stuffy and hot, so not sure if their a/c was working, but it was very uncomfortable. I didn't want to delay my enjoyment of these 3 dishes that I ordered, so I stopped in a parking lot to taste the food while it was still fresh. Orange Chicken: I read so many reviews on how this was the most amazing orange chicken, but this was the least liked dish that I ordered. First of all, it was nicely packaged in a plastic to-go container, but it didn't have any way for the steam to escape, so what I received after a 5 minute drive from the restaurant was a soggy, lumpy mess of battered chicken. The chicken is made with the white/breast meat so it's very dry and the batter may have been good when first cooked, but by this time it was very soggy. The orange sauce was practically nonexistent at this point due to the batter steaming inside the container and soaking up all the sauce. I ate two bites and was done. I probably could have managed to eat it but the chicken was so dry. I'm sure it's much better when eaten in person. Green Beans: I really liked the green beans. I asked to add garlic since the menu description didn't specify if there was any, but they must have understood it as asking for extra garlic cuz there was a lot, but I was not mad about it. I love garlic. The green beans were slightly crunchy, maybe not as much as I would have liked but they were flavorful and delicious and I could eat them all day long. Vegetable Chow Mein: The chow mein was also really good. I wasn't expecting the Pad Thai/linguini shaped noodles, but there's something about them that just works better, in my opinion, than spaghetti noodles. There were a few vegetables, not as many as I would have liked as this was a vegetarian dish without meat. There were some broccoli, carrots, cabbage, and water chestnuts. The sauce was flavorful and the noodles were covered in sauce, no dry noodles here. I will update my review soon, because I think maybe ordering to-go is not the best way for this type of restaurant. Everything is made fresh and to order and is best consumed on premises. My next visit I will be dining in to experience what others have joyously experienced and update my review then. read more

Clean, especially the restroom was one of the nicest, cleanest restrooms I've been to in an Asian restaurant. The food was okay. The order of zha jiang noodles was plenty--tasty though the noodles were on the soft side and lacked the classic chew. If you're wanting the Korean-Chinese style, this is not it. The pan fried dumplings (not pictured) were standard. I wish it had the crispy skirt on them. Beef rolls were not bad--seems plain and didn't have enough meat. Xiao long bao was juicy and good. What we liked most was their pan fried buns, they were good-sized, perfectly crispy on the bottom, with juicy and tasty filling. I understand it's a small shop with a small staff, but the service was pretty slow. I know they were trying hard to service everyone, but it felt like forever waiting for every item we ordered. Even took awhile for us to get the bill. Speaking of the bill, out of fairness the prices were reasonable for how much they give. This place is like a hole in the wall small inside. Clean inside. As you can see, we tried a little bit of everything. The fried rice was exceptionally good. Definitely everything here is shareable the soups we tried had good flavor and big portions. The dumplings were average nothing great but they were not bad either. Cucumber salad I felt was to garlicky, and I didn't like the size of the cucumbers, my daughter did like them just a difference of opinions. The beef bun was on the dryer side. Service was a little slow, considering it was our table of four and one other table. But everything came out fresh to our table hot you can tell it was just made in the kitchen. I placed a delivery order from Lucky Dumpling and I was very disappointed. I ordered orange chicken, green beans, crispy walnut shrimp, and beef rolls. The food was bland except string beans and the beef rolls were particularly bad. It was like they were just wrapped in a tortilla and not heated. Also, it wasn't wrapped tightly or not enough meat in it. The crispy walnut shrimp tasted disgusting that it was a like a day old food. The price for the food just isn't worth it.
