I've been craving dumplings, and since I was spending my first slow Saturday in a while at home playing video games, I figured it was the perfect time to treat myself with some delivery. I was looking for my usual spot, Dumpling Village and was so sad to hear they closed. I looked and came across Lucky Dumpling and thought it sounded good and I was really in the mood for dumplings. Did not realize this is where the old Dumpling Village was and I was so happy! Inside looked similar, but a little bit more refreshed and still plenty of seating. Noticed some changes, no longer QR code ordering. They have new menus and you order and they bring your food out. We got the Egg Flower Soup, Wonton in spicy chili (sauce on the side) Pork Xiao Long Bao and pork Potstickers. Everything was delicious and fresh! The service was also very nice and attentive. The food was amazing 10/10! No wonder this place blew up on tiktok, my best friends live near and we have seen it before passing by and wondered about it, coincidentally it popped up on our fyp, so we took it as a sign! lol. We waiting roughly 45 mins to get sat but it was expected, when we went it was quite busy. Ever table was full. They've been getting so much recognition they even had to put up a sign! So be polite please, you can tell the workers are trying their best. Was my service the best, no, but it was understandable as to why it wasn't, the only service I'd really complain about too is when we first sat down, some tables that sat after got recognized before us (hence why the rating was 4 and not 5 because it did take a little while) but after that, we got constant refills on our drink and ALL of our food came out nice and fresh! I didn't take a single bite of anything cold so I would 100% deal with the minor inconvenience at the beginning all over again for this tasty food. My favorite dishes were the wontons in chili sauce, spicy xiao long bao, orange chicken, and cucumber salad. Not that the rest was bad, it actually was all super delicious and would do the whole same order again but these just were my favorite, my #1 was definitely the wontons in spicy chili sauce, we ate those up! The orange chicken was also so good and had a nice crunch to it and I'm a sucker for a crunch factor. The cucumber salad, dare I say, better than din tai fung. I do wish they had some desserts but maybe in the future! Overall we had a good time and the whole time we sat we couldn't stop raving about how good the food tasted that we forgot to talk about anything else! I hope even with the high volume of customers they don't stop making their food fresh and keep the quality up, it made it that much more tasty. I had been eyeing this spot on Yelp for a while, and I finally had the chance to stop by while I was in the area. I'm so glad I did! The owner recommended the pork xiao long bao, and it did not disappoint. Each dumpling was juicy, with a perfectly seasoned broth and soft, delicate handmade dough. I also tried the pan-fried pork dumplings, which had a crispy exterior and were packed with flavor. The chicken fried rice was another highlight--the aroma alone was mouthwatering. The chicken and vegetables were fresh, and the rice was cooked just right--soft and flavorful. Everything I ordered was delicious, but I especially recommend the xiao long bao. The chili oil they make is very fragrant without being overly spicy. The noodles are bouncy and chewy. Service was very quick and kind, and they packed all our leftovers up for us. We've been desperately searching for a solid local Chinese takeout go to, not solely for dumplings or a din tai dung dupe. I think we're there. The restaurant has dine in and take out and is very clean and bright. The front of house is very friendly, you can tell it's family owned. Our order- crispy walnut shrimp, kung pao chicken, special fried rice, wor wonton soup and pork xiao long bao. The dumplings may have suffered from travel time and not immediately eating them when they got home, but the flavor was good. Maybe better fresh if you're dining in. The honey walnut shrimp is sublime! Massive shrimp in a big portion with steamed broccoli. So good! Kung pao was also so fresh and good with big pieces of chicken and fresh vegetables. The sauce could be a little spicier for our taste so we'll request that next time. The soup was also amazing. Wor wonton is our go to when under the weather and this hits the spot. They package the wontons separately for take out so they don't get soggy. Nice touch! I can tell that everything is made by hand and with such care. We've had: the pork and chicken XLB, a variety of potstickers, the pan fried pork dumplings (MUST GET!), scallion pancakes, orange chicken, noodles, green beans... everything is excellent.
