Our last night in Phoenix, my husband found Doughbird. This is by far our best meal of our trip. I'm writing this as we are still at the table eating. We ordered a spicy blackberry margarita and glass of Prosecco to start with the truffle cheese bread. For our entrees we order the crispy chicken Parmesan and the spicy rigatoni. 10/10 across the board. Absolutely amazing. The restaurant itself is so cute and perfect for group dinner or date night. Came in for weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the spacious interior and empty tables. However I wasn't impressed by the dry pizzas, cleanliness and slow service. We were immediately seated and able to order quickly. Our drinks came out first and we waited 25 minutes for the entrees. After the food was settled, our server never came back until we asked for our bill and dessert. I was disappointed with how our glasses ran dry. =ORDERED= *Lemonade: refreshing and fruity. *Barbeque Chicken: the chicken was tender and went well with the sweet corn and red onions. I wished the toppings were more plentiful, including cheese and tomato sauce. The individual stems of cilantro could have been picked better as a single bite could pull off a mouthful. *Copper Hat: very dry and practically sauce less. Arugula composed most of the toppings with interspersed prosciutto, dates and pistachios. The crust was charred nicely but I desperately craved moisture and flavor. *Warm Butterscotch Cake: an amazing dessert. Warm, gooey and sweet cake topped with vanilla ice cream. As a caramel lover, this was a great finisher. The portion was shareable. I wasn't too impressed by the flavors from the pizzas but I did enjoy the base dough. Super popular location with a very comfy, clean well designed dining area. The wait staff was on constant hustle mode & manager was attentive to orders coming from the kitchen. Apologized for our pizza being made with wrong ingredients and they were recmaking a new one. Didn't need to do that but highly impressed she did & promptly brought out our salad which we didn't ask to be split but merely mentioned it that we were splitting it to our waiter. They are attentive & a step ahead which is a nice bonus, would give 6 stars if I could! Highly impressed! Then the food. NEXT LEVEL & delicious! Stopped in to Doughbird after traveling most of the day from out of state. It is located on the corner of a small shopping center, but the ambiance inside makes it feel a little more modern and set apart. There is a patio with misters which is great in the heat. I was greeted warmly and quickly sat in a booth. The menu had some great choices for appetizers, sandwiches, and artisan pizzas. I chose to start with the shishito peppers and have the Roasted Tomato and Artichoke pizza. I wanted to try their local Hefeweizen, but they were out. I did try the light lager, and it was okay. The food was delicious! I did get a side of the garlic lemon sauce for dipping my crust, but there also seemed to be a dipping sauce on the table in a bottle. The server was wonderful! He was high spirited and he ensured my experience was pleasant. I had plenty to take back for lunch the next day. I would recommend Doughbird's for good pizza and a lovely atmosphere. read more

Ok this place shocked me with how cute and fun it is inside, the amazing service and DELICIOUS food! The hostess Heather was so sweet and checked on us a few times throughout. She seemed to genuinely care about our experience being good and made great recommendations on food and drinks , Noah was our server and he was awesome! Made amazing food recommendations as well and he was personable and prompt with his service. Now let's talk drinks.... "The local" was hands down one of the best cocktails I've ever had. It was sweet without being too sweet, fresh and plenty potent! Consistently excellent service and also consistently fantastic food!! We discovered this place during Restaurant Week and have found ourselves returning as much as possible. We were here last week for my husband's birthday and tonight we were celebrating some very good personal news and the entire staff was very kind to us and celebrated our news and made it a very special experience. Sometimes we dream about the avocado chicken salad and that's what brings us in here but also I feel they have the best pizza in Phoenix. They really do know their dough! And we are addicted to the Shishito peppers and can't leave without getting a warm butterscotch cake. Tried ordering carryout for the 1st over the weekend. I ordered Rotisserie Chicken entree. Picked up order and when going to eat found I only received 1/2 a chicken. I emailed Manager and response was " It appears that you ordered our Rotisserie Chicken entree, which is served as a 1/2 chicken (breast, thigh, and leg) + broccolini + mashed potatoes and gravy". I replied that the menu states Rotisserie Chicken, not 1/2 chicken. I wonder when ordering a pizza if I would have received 1/2 a pizza! Chicken was very delicious, and customer service is excellent. First of all, the atmosphere is very inviting. No wait on a Saturday night for a party of 2. Noah, our waiter was super kind and great at recommendations. My friend got the Spicy Blackberry Margherita per the advice of Noah, and she loved it. The pizza was reminiscent of California Pizza Kitchen, which is my favorite. The dough was not overcooked / burnt anywhere, but the perfect level of cooked. The caesar salad was really delicious, I wish the lettuce wouldn't have been cut so many times however. (Still better than being served an entire lettuce leaf) Our waiter said they were well known for their chicken, so to put that to the test we had some on our salad and it was actually very good and not dry at all. The brookie was very good, however it was quite dry until you add the sauce and gelato. I like when desserts are a little bit more moist and not like a huge heavy piece of dough. Had the best little date with Molly at Doughbird! We sat on the patio, where I read my Kindle and enjoyed the amazing food and atmosphere. I ordered the Aviator pizza, a side of rotisserie chicken, and The Local for a drink. I'm so sad I forgot to take pictures of the pizzas because they were so pretty. I had the gluten free truffle mushroom one (which is one of the most popular pizzas), and safe to say I enjoyed it a lot. The mushrooms were soft but still had a good bite to them, the crust was crispy and chewy, there was a great amount of truffle to live up to the pizza name, the Swiss chard was slightly crispy (YUM), and there was a lot of arugula to have in every bite. I had leftovers for three days and it tasted just as good each time. My sister got the barbecue chicken pizza and said it was very good, especially the chicken. My boyfriend got the Margherita pizza and ate the whole thing, he liked it. Great vibes inside, we were at an elevated high top and it felt a little fancier! My husband and I frequent this restaurant at least once a week. I get a pizza and my husband gets a modified pasta dish. We usually sit at the bar and we are welcomed by the friendly staff. Their pot pies are really good also, but be careful they are hot and will burn you. Their drinks are good & beers are cold. There isn't a bad dish & prices are reasonable. I had the spicy Hawaiian (with no ham) and it was the perfect mix of flavors, our server brought us some hot honey to add on top which I would definitely recommend! I also had the guacamole and pimento cheese appetizer which was a very unique mix of dips, but it worked really well! Both the pimento and the guac were bursting with flavor and paired with either chips or crackers on the side. My friend and I met on a Tuesday for dinner and were told by our server that Tuesdays are 1/2 off all bottles of wine which was a nice surprise ( I would recommend going on a Tuesday LOL)! Not only was the floor staff absolutely inexperienced and novice, the kitchen staff clearly in over their heads, and the restaurant manager an absolute disaster, BUT We waited almost 2 hours for our party of 25 to receive food! Halff of the party received appetizers and bits and pieces of their food. However, the second part of the party did not receive anything. We asked server, busser, food, runner, and manager, and we were literally told that we had to wait longer because of the rain because of The size of our party and that it was a Saturday night.. EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE half of our party was finished eating and THE OTHER HALF still didn't have food. Pizza you guys puzzzaaa! The manager should be fired. She should have apologized, she should have been understanding and instead she was condescending, patronizing, and honestly gave us one of the worst experiences ever experienced from a manager. I can't say that I'm surprised since she looked like she was about 21.. we will never return to this restaurant. Clearly they are going down. I came to Phoenix for a work trip and decided to come here for lunch since the name caught my eye. The inside is very bright with floor to ceiling windows. It's spacious and there are comfy booths and tables for inside and outside seating. It looked like there were a lot of work related lunches happening when we went. We ordered wings to start and I got the half chicken with broccoli/broccolini and the umami sauce. The wings were tossed in a very tasty Buffalo sauce with herbs and mustard seeds on top. The half chicken was tasty and the umami sauce made everything come together. The waitress was attentive and friendly and was accommodating to all our needs. I had a little issue with my promo gift card not working due to a new phone and not having access to my gift card number. I've been to Doughbird a few times and the food has always been good. You can tell that they use better quality ingredients and they have a lot of unique recipes. The restaurant is trendy and the servers are very friendly, attentive, and our drinks were always filled. We ordered the Buffalo chicken wings which were delicious! The chicken fell right off the bone and the sauce was very good. We also ordered pizzas - The Aviator and a GF Barbeque Chicken. I had the Barbeque Chicken pizza a couple times a few years ago and tonight it tasted different and not as good for some reason (tasted more plain or like it was missing something), but overall our meal was great and the gluten free crust is handmade by the restaurant and is so good! read more
