When you walk in, they have the menu on the wall where you can order an individual items with quite a few dim sum items being just over a dollar and the more expensive options ranging up to three-ish bucks. It is cash only unless you spend over ten to fifteen bucks and they have 2-3 small tables if you want to dig in right away. Is this the best dim sum in Chinatown? No, but it's certainly the most bang for your buck. In general, the dim sum is more dough and less meat than I prefer (this was the case for the steamed bbq pork bun and the fried meat football), but the flavor was solid and would certainly hit the spot. This is a great dim sum to go concept. There are about 3 to 4 tables for you to sit down and enjoy your selection right there and then but it is a small place. We prefer to get it to go and head back to our hotel and enjoy it there. We ordered pork shu mai, shrimp shu mai, chicken feet, hotdog buns, and shrimp rice rolls. The children loved the hot dog buns. My husband and I though the pork shu mai was the best. The size of the shu mai was big and for $1.20 each, it was a great deal. I've heard that this dim sum shop was a bit different from the traditional restaurants. 1. It's take out only and 2. It's pay per item. Thankfully, they were opened very early for me and my boyfriend to grab some dim sum for breakfast before driving down to San Diego! It's located in between the WaFd Bank and Dong Sing Market on S Jackson St in the International District. There's only street parking around the area which could be very difficult to find even around 8am. There was already a line out of the shop when my boyfriend and I arrived. Luckily, there was a spot right in front of the shop! My boyfriend ordered everything for us. He got the Siu Mai (4), Shrimp Dumpling (4), Turnip Cake (1), Shrimp Rice Roll (2), and Red Bean Mochi (2). The total was about $30 something which wasn't bad for the amount of things we had! The prices for dim sum have been increasing, so I found this to be quite a deal. The quality of everything wasn't fully the best but still delicious nonetheless! I really liked the siu mai and turnip cake as they had a ton of flavor in them. It was kind of difficult to eat while driving, but my boyfriend and I made it work! I wished there were beef balls to order as that's one of my favorite dim sum dishes but regardless, everything was delicious! Came by this place before we take our flight back to LA. Best decision ever! It's a block from the Chinatown park around the corner and we couldn't help ourselves but eat some already at the park before we finish it at the airport. Chicken fee, $1 prior to tax- I ordered 1 for my husband. He enjoyed it and thought it was flavored well. Shrimp Rice Roll, $4.25 prior to tax- I ordered 4 of these. I am surprised how expensive these were per item. Was disappointed with these because the rice rolls were not set long enough because they hardly held up when I tried to pick them up with my chop sticks. My order of 4 came with a small container of soy sauce, which I think was enough for 4 (I didn't use all of it but typically don't like to drench my food in soy sauce). Turnip Cake, $1.30 prior to tax- I ordered 4 of these. Just like the rice rolls, also too soft as they fell apart when I tried to pick them up with chop sticks. Egg Tart, $1.30 prior to tax- I ordered 2 of these. I would have preferred a flakey crust. The egg tart was just average and probably would get a better one somewhere else in Chinatown. I think I would possibly try them again but only order siu mai, peanut butter mochi, chicken feet for my husband, sticky rice and maybe a steamed bun. Please note that the employees here speak English and I spoke mostly English (a little bit in Cantonese though for some of the items) so you shouldn't have any problem getting your order when you come. I helped plan the Lunar New Year celebration at my employer last month and we catered through Dim Sum King! This is actually the second year in a row we've catered with them for our LNY event and AAPI Heritage Month, and both times have been a huge success. We ordered 250 of the shumai, shrimp dumplings, spring rolls and meat footballs, along with 200 egg tarts. All the food was delivered to our downtown office making it very convenient for our group. Before tax, delivery and tip, the total was still under 2K, which is very reasonable given the sheer quantity of food! You fill out a menu slip so they put together what you want. The ladies were nice and hyped up their food. You know it's good when they hype up their food! We actually ended up going 2x (this was our first and last meal in Seattle!) We ordered 10 shu mai, 4 har gow, 4 cheung fan, and a pork bun all for $31. Then our second time, I ordered 4 cheung fan, a small chow mein and 8 shu mai for $17. I even took some home to my husband! I grabbed an order sheet and pencil, and was able to quickly identify what I wanted to try. For credit or debit card usage, they have a minimum $10 order, so I ordered a bit more food than normal, but was happy to try new things. Everything I ordered was great! The shumai was probably my favorite, but I'd happily get anything I ordered again. For around $12, I had a really filling meal! The service was also quite fast, and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. They don't currently have seating, but the restaurant is right behind a park which had plenty of seating. This has got to be the cheapest dim sum around! I'm all for a deal so I was definitely a fan! The restaurant is located on the edge of Chinatown/International District so it's not nearly as popular during the classic Sunday dim sum lunch time. We didn't have to wait at all to be seated. The place is both a restaurant and to-go/counter place so it is very busy with servers working both the front and the floor. We started with classic hot tea, of course. As well as ordered steamed BBQ pork buns, custard buns, shrimp dumpling, and shumai. We also tried something called a fried meatball or football. It was a football-shaped crispy breaded fried meatball filled with pork, shrimp, and green onions. The breaded part tasted pretty sweet but was balanced by the savory filling. I don't think I'd order it again but I'm not disappointed a tried it. The best part was the price! Everything ended up being under $40 and for the amount we ordered, it felt like a great deal!
