I should have figured from the bad reviews and the complete lack of other guests on a Friday night, but this place was... not so great. I got a two meat plate with pulled pork (which was mushy) and brisket (which was dry.) The Caesar salad was standard, and my boyfriend described the bread as "a slightly fluffy, super dry cracker." The green beans though were awesome, I did really enjoy those. I tried all three sauces, and the original was more spicy than the spicy? The sweet was honestly more of an original in my opinion. The staff was really nice and friendly and the restaurant was comfortable and clean, but my overall impression was that the food was subpar and the prices were wayyyy too high. For a few dollars more (if that) I could go to famous Dave's and get bbq that was twice as good.

I'd like to say that they were still working out the kinks but it's the value of food for the money that's the real issue.... Service was decent .... If there's any sort of line you'll be fighting back through it w your food after you pay..... -Rolls bone dry -micro portion of Cold chicken (you are served your meat FIRST so if there's eight people in front of you in line your meat gets colder, and colder, and colder as you move to get sides and pay. -White raw ish waffle fries -The mac and cheese is the strait crapola velveeta ya see here and there.... Fountain Drink $2.75! Grand total $14!!! Brutal...... Here's their motto... "Dicky's is the BEST. Simply the best! Seriously, it is the best." .....with Velveeta? Cold mico portions? Not even close..... ......one and done.

I have rarely seen a menu where I wanted to order 1 of each but believe me this one brought my accent out. Out of the gate, very quick seating, excellent service! Started with Brussels Sprouts with God's favorite flavoring bacon, with Parmesan, with...sit it down Alabama white sauce. Now, I met Alabama white where it was invented, I love it, and this combination will make Brussels sprouts famous. But, I had to try the hush puppies. Now, real southerners know a good hush puppy is the holy grail of delicious. I'm telling you, these remind me of sitting next to the 'Hooch. Fluffy, crispy, dark...I'm gonna grab another one before this review ends. I chose the fried catfish, Mac & Cheese with creamed corn. Now, I tried to stop eating the cornbread crust and came close to success. The fish was perfection. There are fish coming here to rise above their station! The sides were uniquely and magically delicious but I have to talk about my husband's food. He had brisket, ribs, Cole slaw and smoked green beans. I've never seen this man not clean his plate, but everything was so generous his full meter got pegged. Tons went home, everything was so elevated the Cole slaw, everything. I think the white bread was special (it was hella) fresh. Now, here's a fact, all tables are high or picnic style. I love the idea for a group, but I would have appreciated a back. At a table that my legs wouldn't fall asleep at. If that's a deal breaker for you, order it to go. Pardon me while I wipe the drool off. Enjoy, this place is beyond good!

The brisket was dry and could've used a little more sauce to moisten it up. The mac & cheese was, well, it was. They use shells instead of macaroni for the pasta, and no distinct flavor. Speaking of which, the side was the creamed corn. Yuck.

When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite of what I expected. We were seated quickly on a Monday evening, and our server let us know she was new, which we completely understood since we both work in the service industry. Ordering was simple--my friend mentioned an apple allergy, and we each made straightforward requests. There was a slightly odd moment where the server said she couldn't ring in my friend's order a certain way because the kitchen would "make fun of her," but we brushed it off. Things really went downhill when the food arrived. Both meals were completely wrong. When the food was dropped off (by someone other than our server), there was a snarky comment referencing the apple allergy, which was uncomfortable. We sent the food back, expecting a quick fix--but it came out wrong again. And then a third time. At that point, we were honestly shocked. I've never had an order come out incorrectly three times in a row. Eventually, a manager brought the food out correctly, but there was no real apology for the repeated mistakes. Our server explained it was the kitchen's fault, but it was frustrating that no one double-checked the orders before bringing them out each time. The whole experience ended up taking over two hours, which felt excessive given how simple the order was. We also felt that, given the circumstances, some kind of comp or acknowledgment would have been appropriate, but nothing was offered. Overall, it was a really disappointing and honestly embarrassing experience--especially after talking the place up so much beforehand.

We started with the beet and burrata salad, which was full of yummy complimenting flavors and fun textures. I think it could have done without the yellow peppers but I just ate around those. The pepitas with the pistachio butter and beets were excellent, and the burrata added a creamy touch. We also tried the frites and fondue. The fries were thick and browned how I like them, but the fondue wasn't my favorite and was a little too overpowering in flavor for my taste. The parmesan on top of the fries was a nice touch. For beverages I had a local pale ale from Bridger brewing that was crisp and went well with the meal, and my partner tried the rotations shrub (peach), which she said was just okay. The star of the show was the arrabiata pasta made with vodka sauce and Calabrian chilis. The pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente and was well sauced, truly delicious. The ambiance is nice, and the service was fine. They checked on us frequently but not entirely friendly, maybe our waitress was having a bad day. The meal was a little on the pricier side but I felt the happy hour prices were fair. We would return when visiting Bozeman.

**November 2025: Saturday Night**…read more My mom and I were looking for a spot to enjoy dinner that had parking. We drove around downtown Bozeman for a good 30 minutes, and didn't have any luck in securing parking. I found Mountain Walking Brewery and thought I'd take a chance and prayed that there would be a lot or that I would be super lucky with street parking. We were in luck and there was one very small spot near the front of the restaurant - hallelujah! The restaurant was poppin' - almost every table was taken, but we were offered bar seating and we gladly accepted. After purusing through the menu I decided that we should try a variety of items including a side of Brussels sprouts, Bowl of Bison Chili, and a Fig and Arugula Pizza. Service was quick and we got all our items in a pretty timely manner. The pizza had a really great crust the dough had a nice bounce to it. I think for me they were a tad overly generous with the balsamic vinegar glaze which made the pizza quite salty. I would definitely order a pizza again but perhaps the Margherita or the Carnivore. The bison chili was a good standard bowl and the brussel sprouts while crispy was also very salty - I think it was definitely over dressed, but maybe since the majority of patrons were drinkin the salty foods would pair well. Seems like a fun place to hang out, but for me I'd probably pick anything that doesn't have glaze or soy sauce.
