We're visiting Bozeman from Seattle and decided to stop in at Texas Roadhouse -- what a great decision! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and seated promptly, which already set a positive tone. Our server, Kasey, was absolutely amazing! She was upbeat, welcoming, and genuinely kind. She took the time to explain the menu, made great recommendations, and checked in often without being overbearing. Her energy and hospitality really made our experience stand out. The food came out quickly, fresh and delicious -- exactly what you'd hope for from a place like this. The vibe is fun, the staff are attentive, and the whole place has that down-to-earth, friendly feel. Honestly, I wish we had a Texas Roadhouse like this in Seattle. We'd be regulars! The meal was delicious, just as I remembered from past visits. The standout for me was how friendly the employees were at the Bozeman location, which made the experience even better. I ordered the ribs along with a steak and rice dish. The seasoning on the steak was a little strong, but it balanced well with the sweetness of the ribs. I also ordered the apple sauce, which was good but a bit greasy, so just keep that in mind. They had drinks on special, including five dollar margaritas, but I skipped them since I was driving. Terrible, terrible place. How on earth can you serve a sweet potato with green & black mold in a restaurant in the United States of America? I have eaten in the Caribbean in third world countries & they serve fresh fruit & vegetables. This restaurant needs a professional cleaning. They also have flying insects. Expected more from this franchise. For starters took the waiter 10 mins to come to my table. They had plenty of staff and were not overly crowded. I ordered immediately. Asked for the chili to come before the salad. Of course that did not happen. Waiter came by before I started to eat asking how is everything. I stated I did not have a chance to start eating yet. He looked confused and walked away. Never to see him again. The chili was COLD. Didn't even melt any of the cheese. So I put that aside. My tea was empty and stayed that way. For the first time I was very disappointed. We ordered pick up and when we got it, my wife's burger didn't have any sauce on it. They forgot the rolls. The sweet tea was not there. My whole family wanted steaks and seafood so we all decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for My Godson's graduation celebration dinner from University of Montana. When we first sat down we were immediately served with fresh buttery dinner rolls with amazing cinnamon butter and waters. I have always heard great things about their steaks but, my husband and I decided we wanted to go lite (huge mistake we were warned by My Godson :(...I order the seafood platter that came with cornmeal fresh hot fried catfish, sautéed shrimp, 2 sides! Appetizers we ordered a onion blossom with half cheese/bacon other half gravy...a platter w/ loaded potatoes skins, fried pickles, and rattle snake bites (you can choose out of 5-6 different things to create your platter) it was absolutely amazing (i should've order all apps & sides in my opinion) Con~the catfish was way too soft (lacked flavor) and the sautéed shrimp was too salty/cold and, the side salad I didn't care for at all (I should got a Cesar salad) I choose to get a sweet potato w/ cinnamon butter and broccoli which were amazing. I feel the prices of everything was very reasonable for a Steakhouse Sarah our waitress greeted us all she (5 stars) was a breath of fresh air she truly had amazing personality and smile. She asked several times to bring me something else but, they were extremely busy and, we had to wait a little bit to get our food and, I was hungry and tired it had been a long day (10 hour drive). I would definitely comeback just because of her wonderful and hard working customer service (even others checked in on us). Whatever we asked for or needed it was done with a smile and quickly before I could blink. Sarah earned every bit of her tip and, we made sure it was a nice one (please if your amazing waitress or waiter gives great service and goes above and beyond tip well if you can)!!! I would suggest making a reservation for a big party we were seated immediately (and they were very busy) we couldn't fit everyone but, Sarah made it work. Menus were very easy to read and a lot of great options to choose from for whatever your taste buds maybe feeling a the moment. It's music playing but, it allows you to hold a decent conversation amongst yourselves (and I like that I don't like screaming over loud music) it was tons of seating w/ a nice wrap around bar area ( and a few televisions). It was very clean in the restaurant, bathroom, and the decor was very nice as well. It was plenty of parking but, I would highly recommend eating here but, next time I'll stick to what they are known for (we all shared our meals but, everyone agree mine really lacked in all areas that's why I gave 3 out of 5stars). Everyone including the locals are so very nice that good old down home Midwest country environment kept smiles on our faces the whole entire time. mary was a nice server, connor was helpfully on questions about store hours. we came at opening, my mother mentioned that the restroom had not been swept, not sure i know what that means, but thought i would share. Our food was delicious for the price point. They provided sweet rolls while we waited to order - delicious. i had the 8oz New York strip, with a small bowl of chili and a baked sweet potato. the steak was cooked as ordered, medium well. They even have a description of what to expect based on the doneness that you ordered. my mother had half rack of ribs, highly recommended by her friends. It was great recommendation. The variety of wine and hard liquor selection is limited, but the wine was comparatively well priced. 9ish dollars for 6 oz, and $3 more for 9 ounces. Got sat at our table w cold bread got our waitress came over and asked us for our drinks and then gave us our drinks and said I'll give u a minute to figure our ur dinner .. well 10 mins later she finally came over and got our order and seeing how we ate the cold bread she walked off without asking if we wanted more bread. So we sat there for 10 more minutes and they brought us our order thats when they asked if we wanted more bread. And so we started eating our meal and I drank all my coke and I put my drink on the side and finally our waitress finally realized I needed another drink and came and gave me another drink and aat it down and turned away to pick up her tip from the table of 6 beside us. We felt as tho we were such an inconvenience to this lady. And what's bad is she never introduced herself. Never engaged in any conversation she was so rude to us. All because there was 2 of us instead of 6. She never took any empty plates after we were done. I got up and went to the restroom and when I got back she apparently gave my husband the check and he paid and when I came back we left. It was our date night after a long week. And she made us feel we had no business being in her section. We got her name off the piece of paper on the table and had we not read it we would not know her name was Payton. She was so cold to us the whole time. I am a good tipper 20 everytime we go. But she got 4 cents. It will be a long time before I go back to Texas road house in bozeman mt. Not sure why the restaurant has a 3 star rating. I live in Bigfork but visit Bozeman every 3 to 4 weeks. Texas Roadhouse is one of 3 restaurants I visit on a regular basis. The experience is great as soon as you walk in the door. You're greeted by very friendly people and if you choose to utilize the waitlist feature, you are seated in a timely manner. To date I have never had a sub par meal. The steaks and seafood selections are cooked to perfection. I did not get a chance to eat here because the wait was an hour. I only wanted to leave a review to say that the hostess was less than excited to be asked what the wait time for 2 was. I know they get this question a lot, but I feel they should 100% anticipate this for evenings and weekends. I asked her the question, she said 50 minutes and then she just backed away and leaned against the wall. She didn't even look at me long enough to see if I wanted to stay and she didn't ask if I'd like to wait. So, I just said "thank you" and left, though she didn't pay attention to me anyway. Your frontman (or woman) should be a happy to see everyone face. People with these personalities do exist. It can be a game changer for first impressions of your business. First impressions with their bizarre check-in, on deck one through four is a generous 1-star - clearly the product of a person stuck in a corporate cubical that has never eaten out anywhere. The place is like an ants nest of activity - an army of staff all hustling here and there. The music is too loud for reasonable conversation. But then my Dallas filet showed up - oh my, that cow deserves a medal and the cook gets one too. It was cooked perfect medium rare, butter tender and, for a filet, had great flavor. In for lunch with a group of ten. Service okay - a bit slow - they were busy. Everyone enjoyed their meals, except our older couple. The server was putting the plates on the table and the last two weren't centered on the folding tray holder. .. Those two plates were for the older couple. Over it went with a huge crash! It was a tough few minutes with the mess cleanup and the server feeling embarrassed and sorry. We all understood it was an accident and life goes on. They put the replacement order in stat and offered the couple their sides so they could eat with us. They decided to just take the main portion to go due to the timing of everyone else getting done. The bills came for each of us couples, and the two with the mishap were given their full bill as well. No comment! Really? The husband asked to speak to the manager to inquire about compensation for the fumble. He came out with another manager and acted like there was no reason to comp their meals or provide any courtesy at all. In fact, he made the guest feel belittled and embarrassed to ask. He actually said, aren't your (partial) meals in the bag? So you got what you ordered? What an act of condescension. Our friend was so embarrassed and said nothing else as he did not wish for more attention - he felt bad enough after the gaslighting from the manager. The part that make me SO ANGRY? This is a Viet Nam Vet - a Marine who was deployed on the front lines at the worst time of the war. A missile struck their vehicle and they were hit; everyone died except this brave soul - who was in serious condition and hospitalized for ten months with lasting health concerns to this day. He is a Purple Heart recipient and a proud Marine who gave his all for his country. And this dweeb of a manager, whose restaurant supposedly supports our veterans, had the audacity to act like he shouldn't have to provide any courtesy to him and his wife for the meals that their server crashed onto the floor! Veteran or not, I say this restaurant blew it, the experience was a bummer, and the icing on the cake - a management who actually thought this was the right way to treat their guests. $30 Dollar steak ordered it rare tool 29 minutes to get order steak was medium. Ordered margaritas could tell if there was any alcohol in them at all, bar menus have no prices for drinks ? Are we supposed to just guess what they cost? When I asked bartender Was a little snippy with response but did finally give a price what she didn't share was that it was an extra $1 for a mango margarita. No apology for steak being cooked wrong, she Said we can cook you a new one, my wife already finished her dinner and I wasn't goi g to wait another 20-30 minutes for them To cook another. I ordered the fillet well that was the toughest fillet I have ever eaten. I realize they just opened but no excuse at least the manager or person in charge should have come talk to me for the fact the steak was over cooked. This is maybe our 4th time here since they opened in Bozeman, the servers are all friendly. Our food was brought which we get a lot of. A few of the problems I have had is : 1. My husband asked for more soda and they told us they would tell our server and our server never came! 2. The other servers are standing around talking while we were waiting for drinks! 3. Twice I had my food not warm enough, which they took care of the last time but still frustrating, I decided to take my food home today and warm it myself. Went there for dinner last night at this location,we eat at them in several different states.was not impressed at all. First no silverware had to ask 3 times.then when steaks arrived they did not cook them as requested my rib eye was med well my son's was was rare raw cannot believe that one and my wife's was rare and it was ordered med. told waitress and manager took sons steak off bill. They need to have someone checking steaks as they go out I'm sure another table is saying something because the mixed up the steaks. Or they just can't read a meat thermometer. Birthday dinner for my husband was so very disappointing! Out of ribs so we opted for the pulled pork.....which wasn't pulled pork but a plate of large chunks of cold dark meat & fat that was not cooked. The health dept. needs to pay a visit to this kitchen. They advertise a slow cooked barbecue pulled pork. There was no barbecue sauce, no seasoning and no cooking involved. Spoke with a manager who advised "this is how we serve it". Really! The shrimp appetizer in this location is served cold in a bowel. At other locations it is served hot on a skewer with grill marks on the shrimp. Our server was so stoned she didn't have a clue where she was. Won't be returning to this location and it's really sad because their other locations serve excellent food. read more
