I've been here a few times in the past but never ordered food. Bar was empty despite it being a Friday evening so that probably wasn't the best sign. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and fries. All I can say is don't eat salt for a week before having this dish. Salt was absolutely all I tasted in the meat. I do think it was intended to be a seasoning for the meat but it was way,way too heavy handed. I'll give an extra star because the fries and drinks were fine, but I would probably never order food from here again based on the sandwich experience. read more

Went in on a Friday night - while most bars in town were packed, this place was not. Two gals working behind the bar - neither were friendly, no smiles, just a nod as to what we wanted to drink without saying a word. We did not stay nor did we order a second drink because they were so off putting and rude. We certainly will not be going back. Seeing several negative reviews as of late. I can understand why. This place will not serve food past 10pm. I will give a negative review for every restaurant that closes their kitchen at 10pm or earlier. I have always enjoyed the pour house up until last night. (Monday august 1st 2022). Just went out with some friends, when the bartender took two IDs from the two girls in the group. They were both 21 but the bartender insisted they were fake. She wanted 80$ for them back, and when we refused she called the police. 30 minutes later the police officer easily identified that the IDs were real, and she returned them. She then gave us insane attitude about how she was just doing the right thing (after blackmailing two of our IDs for 80 dollars). When we told her how she was not doing the right thing, she said "literally everyone pays for their IDs back". We were incredibly patient and reasonable with her and she pretty much ruined our night. I would have loved to talk to the cop and tell him what kind of show she is actually running. Unethical, slimy, illegal, and so rude! We really were patient and respectful. Absolutely terrible bouncers in this establishment. Should be embarrassed with how they treat customers. I and my friend went outside for fresh air for not even over 2 minutes. Went back in and they asked for our IDs and that's completely understandable but here's the kicker when asked we joked and said "cmon we were just inside, is your memory that bad" as we were taking out our IDs. Your bouncer of the name of Tyson who was wearing a Happy Dad ball cap proceeded to threaten my friend by saying "shut up, I will stab you" my friend and I in just utter disbelief asked him "are you serious right now" he then proceeded to threaten again by saying "I will stab you 100 times, and I will stab you in the throat" to my friend. If this isn't taken seriously we will involve the law enforcement and have you guys in a law suit. This is unacceptable. You better fix this up. Not only is he treating the paying customers with this absolute terrible service he is drinking and drunk on the job. Fix your issue. read more

Went to the Pour House for the first time with 3 friends. They should rename it " Poor House" as in Poor service. The joint was not busy; maybe 6 tables in the whole house. Our server was nice enough, just not competent. I ordered a double in a rocks; got a double in a pint, also ordered a burger with no bun... Got the bun, friends ordered nachos with beef got 1/2 beef 1/2 chicken, another chum got the wrong beer TWICE! I usually do not leave reviews, as I fully understand the plight of servers and the service industry in general, as I am a GM in the food service industry, but SO MANY muck-ups in one order warrants management attention...ASAP!!!! I came out here with my friends last weekend and the bouncer took my ID, I'm 21 years old. He then proceeded to be rude when I said it wasn't fake and he told me to call the cops, so I did. When the police came and verified my ID, he then said my friends and I couldn't come in because of the "way we were acting". I used to love to this place but this bouncer handled everything terribly. I've gone to the pour house when I was in undergrad at MSU in 2010. I have sent friends to visit and in the past years I've only had bad reviews back. We didn't want to believe it and ordered an app and large salad to go. The salad was the smallest of a side salad with burnt chicken, the fried onions were congealed, all our sauces were screwed up... no Caesar dressing on a Caesar salad. A great spot for both large and small groups! I was here for a conference in October 2016 and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious. We actually returned twice in 4 days. The first time was just me and 3 friends, the second was a group of about 20 people. The servers were so accommodating! I think I would have lost patience with us, but the servers were friendly and super helpful. The cocktails were delish, there is plenty of brew on tap, and the folks that go there are a colorful bunch. I'll say the pour house was out go to for lunch with customers and afternoon drinks, but my last visit I was told the Poutine had been removed from the menu. There's two things that made the Pour House great, the excellent staff and the Poutine. Having grown up in Canada, it's always a treat to find a place that serves it in the states. And the Pour House stepped it up with fried curds instead of traditional. Removing the Poutine was a huge loss, and I'll be frequenting the only other place I've seen it served here in Bozeman. We stopped in here after leaving another sports bar in town that was just plain unpleasant. What a difference. Christa waited on us and was friendly and always on top of things - both food and drink orders. We stayed for three quarters of a football game and had a couple orders of wings which were reasonably priced and tasted quite good as well. The beers were a bit more on the pricey side, but I didn't mind paying for good service. And the layout of the bar is really well suited to watching games - plenty of tvs with good sightlines. I only marked them down a star because they really don't have many taps. I think there were maybe eight? I would really expect more in a place named the Pour House, but otherwise, this place will definitely get repeat visits from us when there is a game on. read more

We recently took a trip to Bozeman, and one of our first places to stop was the Pour House. Some things have changed since I last patronized this business. First off, I had forgotten that the owner of the Pour House yanked all of the local brews from his bar after the legislature considered a bill that would extend brewery hours from 8 pm to 10 pm. So we couldn't order a Bozone Amber, which was one of the main reasons we were coming to the Pour House in the first place; that, and the fish tacos. Second, the service was TERRIBLE. There were two waitresses working, and ten customers including us (8 at the bar, and two seated at a table close by). One of the waitresses sat down at the end of the bar and chit-chatted with her friends the entire time we were there. The other one served us our beers right away, but didn't bring us a menu for over ten minutes (it was 12:30 pm, primetime lunch hour on a Saturday). She was busy leaning over the bar and chatting with an older couple and two men. When she finally did bring us a menu, she didn't come back to take our orders for another ten minutes. My partner ordered the fish tacos (her favorite that she's eaten many times at the Pour House) and I ordered the quesadilla. The chicken in my quesadilla was really dry, but otherwise the food was mediocre. My partner's fish tacos, on the other hand, were pretty abysmal. It was clear they had fried up one filet and split that filet into two thin pieces, one for each taco. The batter was heavy, and the sauce was overly seasoned. We had to wait another fifteen minutes to get our check so we could leave. It was a terrible experience, and I will never eat there again. read more

Our watering hole! Great staff and quick service. The nachos are great for sharing and the burgers are huge and tasty. Few different spots to group up with friends, larger tables in the "back" away from the dj if you're there on a late night, a room with darts and some casino games, and a variety of high and low tables around the square bar that you can hang out at. We love sitting at the bar on Sundays to watch football, just good people who come to watch the games and have some beer or regular mimosas. Can't go wrong, great local hang out for the crowd that wants to be downtown without it being too rowdy. read more

Great place to grab a late dinner and after the remodel I have really been impressed with what they have done with this place. Good bar food and a good beer selection. I really enjoyed this place as a getaway from the national park food, so I am bias in that regard. Nonetheless this is a nice tavern to stop in while in town. The decor is nice, above average, the food comes in large portions, the service is quick, not always with a smile, but professional, there is a full bar, TV's, and a great location. Right on the downtown shopping strip, there is plenty of street parking and shops to pop into before of after lunch. I do like this place, but I want to try the other places in the area as well, but for a sure fire good lunch, this is a solid option. read more

I love the Pour House for St Patrick's day food, but went there early Cat/Griz weekend and had a less than stellar experience (service sucked). I think our waitress got off work before we were finished. So - waitress #2 was barely wearing clothes, I've noticed that's how they roll, but it gives it a little bit of a Hooter's feel. She was visibly not in a very good mood and didn't smile. The nachos had colored chips - gross. We ordered a 1/2 order which was more like a 1/4 order or something! The wings were pretty darn good. I would not feed my dog out of this kitchen, twice a week the sysco truck rolls by and kicks off a pallet of trash food that has been trucked across the country. If you are looking for CAFO beef and chicken chucked on a plate with the amount of thought I give to flushing the toilet then this is your place. I can't speak for the food, but as a night spot this place seemed like a popular place. The crowd was pretty young, lots of college-age kids. Music on a Thurs night was a live DJ, but the dance floor is only about 10x10 and the playlist wasn't all that great IMO... it also took forever to get bar service. We all had some form of sandwich and fries. Everyone was happily satisfied! The turkey melt was delicious and huge, leaving leftovers to enjoy just as much later. The French fries were good, although we decided that there is very little difference between the regular and sour cream fries. The house made ranch is perfection: still sad that they wouldn't let us tKe home a bottle! The only negative was staffing. It appeared that there was only one person working. 2.5 stars i was really looking forward to eating here since they advertise as a food-centric bar, however i think i set my expectations a little high. everything was average, meaning the burger my boyfriend ate was unmemorable and my sirloin salad was a bit disappointing. they took the measure of asking how i wanted my steak cooked but their idea of medium rare is actually well done. also, the bed of "greens" they serve is really just chunky iceberg lettuce, the bleu cheese tasted low quality, and their balsamic dressing lacked zing. i was also displeased that the steak was just chopped up into uneven chunks rather than being tastefully sliced against the grain in strips. one point of consolation was my boyfriend's side of fries. they were tasty and perfectly textured... but if you like to dip in ranch, beware... it's runny. read more

I went to watch the US Women play the quarterfinal match in the Women's World Cup. It was cool inside and not very crowded at all. I had the grilled buffalo chicken breast on salad--the breast was cooked through, but no grill marks. Sauce was okay -- salad was ordinary but a nice portion. Waitress was very attentive initially when she brought my white wine and ice water but less so later when she found out I wasn't much of a drinker! read more

The Pour House food never disappoints. We had a terrible experience at Old Chicago yesterday and left hungry, so stopped in and had a great lunch. The shrimp bisque is delicious, though I hear they only offer it on Fridays so we got lucky. Also did the chicken pesto sandwich which was super tasty. I can't remember ever having a bad meal here, the only thing I don't care for are the korean tacos (too much cabbage and not enough sauce).
