Rolled in here hungover af with 13 dudes after a bachelor party as we awaited our flights on Sunday morning at 11am to catch the first NFL Sunday of 2024. I'm normally more of a college football guy, but being a USC alum I need a USC QB to do well in the NFL. We watched the Caleb Williams domination show on one of the like 14 TVs in here, each one playing a different game. I couldn't imagine a better place for an NFL Sunday. Some of our group ordered drinks, as the only way out is back in, but the last thing I could think about was more alcohol. I thought about running the pool table in the back, but I was too busy fighting for my life in one of the high bar stools. I'm still in the twilight zone tbh. Hangovers hit different at 28. I've always picked Bar IX over any other bar in town. I enjoy all the event nights they have and the staff and environment are great. I would highly recommend spending a thursday night out, getting a bucket with some friends and enjoying the music at Bar IX. read more

We went at around 5 on a Thursday. It was quiet and pretty empty at this time. Which was perfect for us! There was a draft special. We both got smash burgers which were perfect! The patties were nice and crispy! And the cowboy queso was huge, enough for a whole family. I would try if you enjoy smash burgers. read more

Super fun night. The bartenders were fast and friendly. The music was fun and danceable! The staff moved tables to make more room for dancing and there's a cool platform where you can dance with a ballet type pole to hold on to so you don't fall. I've been coming to Bar IX for years for a number of reasons. It's located right in the heart of downtown. The bartenders are, all of them, delightful but of late Tony is my fave. The manager is a vet and a terrific guy. It's a comfy Cheers sort of place and it's fun to see the college kids have fun (and embarrass themselves). This is my go-to place for dancing and drinks! They move all the tables around 10 for a open space dance floor, and the DJ always has the best mixes. It was my friends birthday and she didn't receive a hat on her birthday and we asked the bartender Emma for one and she would not provide it. Although to save the bar another bartender Matt was able to get her a hat on her birthday which is supposed to be given with-in a persons birthday. It was super pore customer service on Emma's part extremely rude and off putting compared to Matt's who was receiving, unfortunate to see such inconsistency in a bar. read more

Absolute joke of an establishment. Had a friend argue with the bartender, bouncers break it up and everything calms down while I was in the corner. Once it calms I tell my buddies we should get him home before anything else stupid happens. I walk up to my buddy and tap his shoulder. All of a sudden 4 bouncers jump me, rip my Carhartt sweatshirt off of me, proceeds to throw me out of the front door and I land on my head. I try to tell them to at least give me my wallet, they refused and claimed they don't have to since it's their property. I flip them off as a cop walks up so I get cuffed for flipping off a cop. I explain it to him and he uncuffs me and demands the bar give my wallet back. The bouncers tell the cop it's private property and he's like really guys..... unprofessional and dog shit humans In the entire establishment. read more

This place is awesome. Enjoyed local brews & great service with my dog at the outdoor bar located at the rear of the building. Staff was super friendly - place seems to be jumping with business. The interior itself is cool -- very Industrial Loft look. I made the mistake of coming here at night, though -- my bad. I'm not much (if any) of a drinker, to start, so going to a bar of any kind is a rarity for me. I guess it's a great place to go if you like the very loud, college age crowd, but I'm fifty and (again) not exactly a drinker. I'm not a sports fan, either, but a friend had suggested that I stop in here during my last trip to Montana. The food was decent -- basic bar fare. (You know, sports bar grill stuff. Don't go expecting health food.) :) Service was passable -- friendly but harried. (Good, but not exceptional. Our waitress appeared to have too many tables to work.) Was disrespected n singled out but the bar staff after I went to the bar n was asked for ID I told her I didn't have it on me but u can clearly see that I'm an adult anyway i asked if it was a new policy as I had never been asked anyway I said it was find n went over to my friends the bartender came over to me n told me I had to leave because I don't have ID i said so many ppl are here with out ID y r u coming at me she said she would call the cops if I don't leave I said for what because I'm black I've been going there for a while n was never asked for ID to enter the building I'm 34 years old I do not in noway look like a child I left and it seems like ever other black person that came in she singled out and put them out the bar I'm not a local but bar 9 would always be the place my friends n I go to because the karaoke Dj is a nice guy n we had never been asked for ID to come in n sit before but after the way the bar staff treated us we will never spend our money there again or support this place n we will make sure to let others know read more

How to: Bar IX. The best time to go for most humans is 2-7pm, or on a Sunday. Why? 2 for 1 cocktails, wine (the tiny selection) and draughts (many local) at all those times. The 2-7 daily happy hour also has some app specials for $5 that are not the worst ever. But it's a preeminent party bar in a college town, so the night times Thursday through Saturday are when it gets weird. DJs, dancing, and often barely room to walk through the crowd of fraternity brothers, sorority girls, and Middle Eastern exchange students. But if the bar upstairs is open, it's the spot to get quick service and look down to watch the world burn fueled by student loans and Mom in Vermont's money. Keep in mind that if you order a cocktail, it will be double and tall (the way God intended) unless you specify otherwise. Your mileage may vary on the daily specials, but Mancave Monday (free games) is all right. Update: There is no more Sunday Funday 2-for-1s, but now there's a comedy open mic on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesdays of the month that takes the cake for best night if bucket night isn't your jam. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I have never been so creeped out. Me and a few gIrl friends went here last weekend to dance because we heard there was a DJ. My friends were from out of town and I had never been there so we thought it'd be fun to try something new. It wasn't. A weird group of 4 guys were basically stalking us around the dance floor, taking turns coming up behind us and trying to grind on us, without our permission or even asking. We kept moving away and telling them to leave us alone, and they wouldn't. We eventually left bc the bouncers were just watching us try to move away from these creeps, without doing anything to help, and the bartenders were too busy to even notice or care. The drinks were overpriced and over poured, too. We all left a little more buzzed than we wanted to be (it was only 10), after just one drink each. Drink specials on Happy Hour are OK, but the food and the service are terrible.Cameron was our bar tender but couldn't be bothered to check on our table to see if we wanted food or drinks. One friend I was with ordered super hot wings, we were served teriyaki, we complained he said these were the hot wing, but finality admitted they where out of hot wings. I ordered Que so dip, it was the worst Iv'e ever had, no flavor no heat just cheese wiz in a bowl. I had to go to the bar to get my bill, and when I final got it, I was over charged.
