I might have given this bar a higher rating, had I not been to the rooftop bar in the same hotel the night before. I hate to compare but it's crazy how different two places can be in the same hotel. The service here was abysmal. We came at the end of someone's set and it wasn't that crowded in the bar but almost every single table was dirty, with empty glasses on them. There seemed to be one bartender and another person helping. That person literally just stood there talking to people instead of cleaning up the tables. The bartender was pretty rude too and didn't seem to be into working here at all. The only clean table was by the door and it kept getting opened while the next band set up so we just moved to a table with dirty glassware on it. The drinks were pretty lackluster (especially compared to the awesome ones upstairs). I don't think it was that the menu was inferior to the other, I just think the bartender didn't care. Both my drinks were watered down and icy. Pretty sad for the price to be honest. It got pretty crowded for the second set being played so we decided to leave to let other people sit. Truly the best hotel bar I've experienced. They consider themselves a dive bar, but I disagree. This hidden gem located in the basement of The Kimpton Armory hotel. No cover. Live music I think nightly. Great drinks. Food too. What more could you ask for? I've seen some great bands here. Many seating options from booth in the back to tables in the middle to the bar rail. Excellent place to grab a drink, listen to music, bring a date, or come solo. Can't wait to come back! read more

Great place to relax, sip good supplies, and hear music. The only issue I had was with the wait service. My card was run incorrectly and was overcharged by a lot of money. However, after discovering the charge on my account I went and spoke with Aaron, the manager. He did due-diligence and called me later to let me know he'd take care of it! I've always had an affinity for hotel bars so I was excited to check this place out. This bar is located in the basement of The Armory hotel in downtown Bozeman which made it convenient to stop by for my nightcap. To get to the bar walk into the hotel and then take the elevator to the basement. My first drink was the sun dogs ($14) which is slightly sweet and the St. Germain elderflower is the big flavor I taste. My second drink was the blackhole sun ($16) which is slightly sweet and bitter from the averna. Given the average price for cocktails in the Bozeman area all their cocktails are slightly on the pricier side but the cocktails themselves were good and unique. They also have live music occasionally although I missed seeing it as I stopped by at 11pm. Overall the vibe of the bar was great and I definitely loved the lounge feel. It's a great place to hang out and listen to some music even if you're not staying at the hotel. read more

The manager of the bar screamed at the musicians that came from Washington to be here in front of all the patrons. The band stopped a bit early but played incredibly well and was super friendly to the crowd. Definitely not coming back here just cause of the obvious treatment of musicians at this establishment, to the obvious dismay of the other patrons in attendance. A somewhat unfortunate and depressing place in the basement of the old armory. The cocktail I was served was quite good good. But the service was miserable. The individual at the bar focused on certain customers at the expense of others. There are better bars in Bozeman. Go to them instead. read more

After hearing that this was the spot for live jazz on Wednesdays we arrived a little after 8 and caught the last 20 minutes of some extremely talented singer songwriters doing a special party for the Gibson team. We were able to get a table with a great view of the band and the musicians were very good. Grace, our server was fantastic, the drinks were on point. We closed the joint and took an Uber back to the Sapphire Motel. The falling snow made for a spectacular end to a perfect evening. read more

The place is good, but be very careful because the bartender will take advantage of you. I ordered an old fashion with Bulleit Rye and she said they were out of it and offered another rye instead. She said it was made by the guy who plays Kip on Yellowstone. When I went to check out the old-fashioned cost $36. It is the most expensive drink ever had and putting a super premium liquor in old fashion is just plain stupid. I feel completely taken advantage of. I didn't want to complain at the time because I was with people. read more

The coolest bar we have been to in a long time. Located in the basement of the coolest hotel in Bozeman The Armory. This place has a solid cocktail menu and some delicious food as well. Get the poutine fries and Royale with cheese. Your stomach will thank you. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and will help to guide you through the menu. If you like coffee try the All Night Long, if ginger is your thing go for the Sultan of Swing. For a light an refreshing drink try the French 95. The glassware they use is beautiful and takes the cocktails to the next level. Even the ice in the cocktails was nice. Now stop trying to decide where to go. Just go here! read more

The drinks were quite good but the service was horrible. We weren't told that we were expected to order at the bar - we assumed that someone would be by to take our order. The place had very few customers at the time and the two bartenders walked by us several times without even making eye contact. I know it sounds petty, but all they would have had to do was say "Hi and welcome in! Come on up to the bar and we will be happy to get your order started!" To make matters worse, when we mentioned that our table was sticky, they tossed us a rag instead of wiping it down for us. I've lived in Bozeman my whole life (55 years) and we entertain LOTS of out of town friends. When suggesting night life spots, we won't be suggesting this place! Conversely, the bar on the roof of the Armory is awesome and the wait staff is excellent! read more
