Located at the top of the Kimpton Hotel in Bozeman, this rooftop bar is a gem. They offer small plates if you are hungry . We had 1 app and some cocktails and watched the sunset. It was great. And service was very good considering how busy it got. Would definitely recommend this spot.

Quality drinks in a modern and chic interior. $$$ and wish the outdoor area was a bit more spacious for our big group we came out with. Overall didn't fit the vibe we were going for.

This place has incredible views and I'm always happy to pay a little extra for a great view! The service was a underwhelming- when we arrived, we waited by the empty host stand for several minutes before giving up and trying to grab a seat at the bar. A server cut us off to tell us we had to wait for a hostess and she finally showed up. We were seated and our table server was absolutely delightful. However I felt awful for the table next to us (guests of the hotel) who had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to clean their table and take their drink order. Half of them gave up because it was taking so long. Dessert was nothing special. But if you're just looking for a great view for a drink, this place is worth checking out for sunset.

We had a wonderful experience here while staying at the hotel. A few small plates and a few more drinks AND that view made for an excellent evening in Bozeman. We also had great service. Would recommend.

We were staying at the Kimpton Armory and decided to pop upstairs to the rooftop bar which has nice indoor-outdoor dining area. The outdoor couches/tables were taken so we snagged the corner table and enjoyed beautiful sunset views. The menu is comfort food and we ordered the grilled cheese & tomato Basil soup as well as the pork belly sliders. Both were tasty. My only feedback is that while the hostess did seat us, it was at least 15 - 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us despite being one of a few table occupied in the restaurant and several servers standing around talking. Once the server finally acknowledged us, she was attentive and we received good service. Best views up on the rooftop of downtown Bozeman!

We have visited the Sky Shed several times, views are unbelievable, seasonal drinks are fantastic and service is on par with their drink selection. But if I had one disappointment were the food options, either overcooked, undercooked or just lacking flavor (even salt), I'd say they need a chef or maybe kitchen staff...but can't give more than 3 stars when food is not even recommended.

This rooftop bar at the Kimpton Armory hotel has a nice atmosphere. One side had lounge seating, the main area was bar seating, and lastly there is an outdoor patio (which I wish I was able to enjoy, but it rained while I was there). Nonetheless, it had good vibes. It wasn't busy on a Sunday night. Drinks, food, and service was great!

I made a reservation, arrived a little early and was sat immediately. Unfortunately, I waited about 12-15 minutes before a waitress came to get my drink order. I ordered a "I'll Be Your Huckleberry"- it was okay, nothing spectacular for a cocktail. I moved to a better table in the corner by the windows just in time to watch the sun set- gorgeous. I ordered a "Backcountry Board" which was good. The huckleberry & goat cheese crostini was my favorite.

A blurry pic of the cool window with a view.

We sat at the bar and had some elk meatballs and trout dip which were amazing. So while the food and drinks were very good the service was almost offensive. The 4 or 5 waitstaff that we saw were constantly talking about the other guests in the restaurant. I get that other guests we're sitting at the fire pit (which apparently costs &500 to just sit there!) without a reservation but I don't need to hear about during my entire visit. Ironically the bartender who was good told us where we shouldn't go in Bozeman. Overall the views were incredible if you were lucky enough to snag one of the outside tables at sunset. Just know your bill will come back with a $500 charge if you sit at one of those a coveted fire pit seats.

Views for days!!! I'm always on the hunt for rootop bars, and Sky Shed fit the bill! It's located on the 9th floor of the Kimpton hotel. There is ample street parking around and a garage nearby. It's spring in Montana, so as far as weather, anything goes! It's sunny, it's cloudy, it's raining, it's snowing... But on this particular visit, it did all but snow (thankfully). I was able to sit outside and enjoy the views for a bit, before it started to get windy. Service can use some help, but I was ok with that, since my focus was on the views. I had a couple of glasses of their Rose and ordered their loco moco for dinner. It was not a typical Hawaiian loco moco, which is understandable, but it was pretty good. It had a Hawaiian beef patty, mushroom gravy, sunny side up egg , and furikake on top of a veggie fried rice. Tons of flavor and tons of texture from the fried rice. Since I wasn't super hungry, I didn't order any more items. I am curious enough about some other things on their menu to wander back in again. I hope the weather cooperates the next time I'm in town!

Food : meat balls and chocolate cake were 10/10 amazing! Service: we were staying at the hotel and wanted to try this place for Christmas dinner. They were packed we didn't get a reservation and were out on the wait list at 4 didn't get a spot until 8pm but were told they had staff walk out and were short handed they were still pleasant and quick! Ambiance : the views speak for themselves! The pictures don't do it justice They also have great non alcoholic options as well

Gorgeous views from the roof top restaurant. Excellent service and very friendly and knowledgeable server staff. Nice eclectic options for small shareable plates and mid-to higher quality and price point. Delicious craft cocktail options and nice selection of wine & beers available. Get there early for happy hour to snag a seat for sunset!

Probably the best cocktail bar in Bozeman with pretty neat views! Located on the ninth floor, they have impeccable views of snow clad mountains while you sip on the perfect cocktail. Our server was so great - she had such great recommendations and checked on us in timely manner. Overall I really enjoyed my evening and am glad we came here! If you are in Bozeman, you have to check this place out! Cocktails here definitely do justice to the views!

I hate to compare but it's crazy how different two places can be in the same hotel. The service here was abysmal. We came at the end of someone's set and it wasn't that crowded in the bar but almost every single table was dirty, with empty glasses on them. There seemed to be one bartender and another person helping. That person literally just stood there talking to people instead of cleaning up the tables. The bartender was pretty rude too and didn't seem to be into working here at all. The only clean table was by the door and it kept getting opened while the next band set up so we just moved to a table with dirty glassware on it. The drinks were pretty lackluster (especially compared to the awesome ones upstairs). I don't think it was that the menu was inferior to the other, I just think the bartender didn't care. Both my drinks were watered down and icy. Pretty sad for the price to be honest. It got pretty crowded for the second set being played so we decided to leave to let other people sit. To start, we waited on a Wednesday night for a couple minutes to be sat in a nearly empty restaurant. We ended up sitting at the bar (hoping the service would be best with an attentive bar tender), and began evaluating the menu. This dinner was a business meal with a client. My client ordered the chicken, and I had settled on the steak tartare. I was anticipating to purchase a bottle of wine and located exactly the wine that would pair amazingly, it was a gamay from the Willamette Valley. The waiter told me as I ordered that the steak tartare was small and would be a poor meal choice. After taking his advice, I still desired the gamay and settle for the Rabbit Roulade dish. The server then informed me that he believed that dish was sold out. He returned to tell me that the kitchen was out of that dish, and they had been for some time. Now I was left searching the menu struggling to find an option. I landed on the sweet potato gnocchi. I ordered the Gamay, and the server seemed to have no idea what that wine was. I handed them the menu and pointed it out. The server and bartender stepped away for a couple minutes as they stood at the end of the bar frantically looking in the wine cabinet. They returned to tell me they were also out of the wine I ordered. They then tried to sell me some other wines, but I decided I would rather just do cocktails since that was the only gamay on the menu and there were no burgundy/Beaujolais options. The food came out, and thankfully it was good and had great flavor. This was the only redeeming quality. I immediately asked for an order of cornbread since the sauce was good and demanded a bread to properly clean the plate. I slowed down my eating to enjoy the meal but also to allow the cornbread to come out. It took 25-30min before the server came back, and when I asked about it they went to check. They returned to inform me that the kitchen had made a cornbread but it didn't turn out good, so they were "re-firing" another. At about 40 minutes after the order the cornbread had arrived. My client had finished his meal, an I had finished all but a pool of sauce on my plate. Sadly, due to the time my plate sat idle and the sauce cooled, the sauce separated and split into a mix of butter and oil. This rendered the delivered bread useless for the intended reason for the order. The cornbread tasted okay, but with my meal or within twenty minutes would have been much better. The server and bartender did not check on us besides the aforementioned encounters. Again, the food was good. Based on the times and my own experience as a server, the cornbread I believe was never entered into the computer. The times did not match up for how fast the supposed second order came out in a restaurant with five other patrons in it. Between being out of food, out of wine, and the cornbread fiasco it was not a good business meal or look for an out of state visitor. I tried to be gracious, but again, from my experience as a server left me thinking a drink ($6 beer) or the cornbread may be waived given then totality of the circumstances.... Nothing happened. I was charged for all items and spent $101. I am a 25-30% tipper normally. Tonight I left $10... 10%. That was only because the food flavor was good, and the kitchen deserved that whole tip. If this was a date night, I would have not tipped at all. My 10% tip will be a 0% tip going forward for this establishment, as I will not return again. Order this food takeout, and hope they have what you want or move on. That's my opinion, because service is not good either. I found myself apologizing to my client, and that is an awful place to be. My client even commented, "I'm shocked you tipped and were that kind". When I explained the reason was for food quality he quipped, "yeah but that tip won't go to the kitchen like it should." That is not the conversation I want with a client after a business dinner!
