This place was in the tiny down of Emigrant. The food was outstanding. The place was clean and chairs are comfortable (no sides). The service was lacking but they were very busy so I didn't knock off a star. They got our order wrong, didn't refill water jug unless we asked and never brought extra napkins. Our waitress wasn't standing around, just didn't prioritize us. Like I said, it was busy. The food was amazing and people were loud and happy. I would eat here again. read more

This was a BIG disappointment. I should have guessed as I had to call 3 x & send 2 emails to try to get a reservation for my large party (16). The menu was changed from the one online and no longer featured fish & chips, bean burger or others. We had 2 meat-free diners who had boring green salad & fries. Two Drinks never arrived, the water wasn't refilled. Food arrived in piecemeal. All fries & nachos were ice cold. Fried chicken sandwich was over cooked & dry. Burgers were decent. And was caprice salad. The website advertised a band but we were told there wasn't one tonight. Don't waste your time or money. read more

We stopped in here for lunch on our way out of the park toward white sulphur springs. The food is stellar, all four of us got something different and it was all fantastic. The drinks were perfect and our service was amazing. Be warned, the actual restaurant is not open Tuesday or Wednesday (or maybe it was Wednesday Thursday I can remember) and the only place to eat is in the bar and seating is limited. Also note that the parking lot is ALWAYS super full even when the place is empty so don't let that deter you. Stop in and check it out, you won't be disappointed. read more

Ok....stopped in with friends from out of town for lunch after the hot springs. I had a craving for a burger and a beer. The second I walked in I saw that they had Octoberfest on tap, and right away I knew I was going to like this place. We all ordered drinks and food. The waitresses was crazy short staffed. It was just her and a bartender. That would explain the wait times. It took a while for us to get our food order in but once we got it everyone was happy with their meal. I got the burger and it was really good. There was supposed to be mushrooms on it but I never saw or tasted them. Still really good though. I had a bite of Kim's Ruben and it was awesome. I'm not sure what happened to this place but we used to travel 3 hours just to eat a Ruben and have garlic fries. Neither are on the menu anymore. Service used to be spot on. Servers would ask if you needed anything often. We just had food there and everything we had went down hill. My wife salad was half the size from a year ago and no where near as well put together. I had fish and chips ( not sure why). One piece was so raw I didn't eat it. I like sushi but this was not good. Service was terrible we had to stack our glasses at the end of the table just to get our server's attention. We have been coming to this place for over 15 years. We won't come back unless we hear the new owners have figured out how to run a restaurant. read more

Did not dine in but stopped for some food to go after a long day of hiking and sight seeing. Cool place to check out, with nice western vibes. Ordered the old saloon burger and a chicken back ranch wrap. Both were delicious and worth ordering. The customer service from the young lady at the counter was great as well. read more

Classic saloon (since 1902!) with killer food. Live music was playing as we pulled up and the service is friendly and timely. Food was fantastic, ate it too quickly to get a picture, but am looking forward to our next trip that direction. read more

Bartender was very friendly and welcoming. The inside sports hats that are left by different visitors to Paradise Valley and some in memory of those who have passed on. This was the coldest beer I've had the whole trip and we ordered the nachos with chicken. A LOT OF FOOD!! However, very good. We finally got to go inside and have a drink in this historic saloon. They offer a full service bar, and normally they serve food but the kitchen is closed Tuesday and Wednesday nights. They had a food truck outside, but we were looking for a full service meal. The bartender was nice and looks like they accommodate both locals and tourists. There are several big bands that come in and they get sold-out crowds of 2500! So check the schedule first. read more

Great place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Onion rings were great. Hubby loved his burger. I was anxious ordering the tempura shrimp (big cities have trouble with this one sometime) so I was skeptical but it really was tempura batter! My only "complaint" and I've noticed this at almost every restaurant in Montana; what do ya'll have against rolls, breads, etc? It's nearly impossible to find a place that has/serves rolls, garlic bread, etc..... you have burgers and baguettes so why not accommodate a guest when they ask for bread? Take a burger bun or baguette, slather on some butter and throw it in your flattop for 30-60 seconds, add some garlic too! Our sweet waitress told me you had "sandwich bread." Wow! This place was amazing! I was staying towards the Yellowstone, so about 30 mins away, but wanted some true Montana food options and this was the place that drew me in! They have your Chicken Fried Steak, Rocky Mountain Oysters and Trout! I went during off season and while Covid was still a thing so it was not very busy and the concert area was not in use and what a bummer! It is such a nice place, inside and out! Definitely the place to be for delicious food or an ice cold beer if you're close to the North Entrance of Yellowstone. I tried the Rocky Mountain Oysters which were surprisingly delicious. The breading wasn't too thick, they could have been a little crispier, but I like my fried food extra crispy so I'm sure it was cooked to perfection for most. It had a venison/gamey taste, but had a softer side when you bit into it. It was VERY GOOD! I also had the fish and chips, which was the local trout. Not a fish I typically have so I was a little skeptical, but it was good and fried the way I like it -- crispy with just enough seasoning to pull in the perfect flavor. I also had the fries and Mac and cheese, which I would get again. The fries were thin and crispy, but not show string thin. The Mac and cheese tasted like something out of my family's thanksgiving. I tipped all that off with a nice cold local MT brew. All of their drafts are local state beer which I thought was pretty cool. There was only one lady working the tables and bars during lunch time, as it wasn't too crowded, but she was VERY NICE! She was helpful, nice and talkative! Even the locals (or they were at least regulars that I could tell) said bye when I was leaving! 10/10 recommended when you're in the area! read more

This was a good stop on our way through town. Everyone was very nice and the service was awesome! We enjoyed the onion rings, elk meatloaf and a spinach salad. All very tasty! We had hoped to sit in the bar but found that the bar area only served burgers and appetizers so we had to go to the adjoining building for the full menu. The Old Saloon is a really cool bar in Emigrant. It definitely gives you that old-timey western vibe. It has a full bar and the bartenders make great drinks. There's also a pool table and tables and booths to sit in. It seems like the go-to place for locals and visitors alike. It can get really crowded so be prepared to stand or wait for a seat to open. The service is great and it's just a fun overall atmosphere. When we visited Emigrant, we came here just about every night. read more

Great spot after coming off the river! Super authentic western bar with an adjacent dining room. Small touches such as horse shoe coat racks helped great a fun atmosphere. We sat there as I was with my family. Large portions and a great selection of beers. The BLTTA and fried chicken sandwich were both huge and could easily be split. Tasty onion rings and wings. Great, friendly service! Loved seeing so many people hanging out at the bar talking - definitely wish I lived here so I could hang out with them. Fried pickles were good but the sauce.... incredible. The Old Saloon located in Emigrant, Montana right in the heart of Paradise Valley. This Saloon is the quintessential vibe of my perception of Montana. I loved loved loved it here. The Saloon is of the Old West vibe, down to the swing doors, inside it's full of old wood, mounted animals that are present in the area. The staff and the customers were so friendly and eager to learn our story as well as sharing theirs from years of living in this area of Montana. It really was a great experience and one of the highlights of our trip. It's also located about 40 minutes from The North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park but unfortunately for their business this access to Yellowstone is currently closed due to the recent flooding in June. It has really affected their bottom dollar. Hopefully they will sustain until the reopening. If you are in the area, go in and support this fabulous authentic family owned restaurant. read more
