Pretty damn good although I agree with other reviews that it would be nice to have some more classic options. Sometimes you just want grilled cheese especially out there in the Wild West. My friend and I enjoyed a dinner here and it was pretty good even though she almost got sick on the table. Beautiful location in the paradise valley. That white wine was pretty good too. Stopped by for brunch on our way home from a weekend at Chico. It. Was. Packed. Luckily we found seats at the bar. They even had this thing called live music, have you heard of it?!? Honestly, I'd almost forgotten what it was like! The poor servers were absolutely swamped, but we didn't even care, it was nice to just be in the moment. Went here for brunch. There was live music which was really nice. The service was a little slow but that's because there was one waitor serving all of the tables. He was nice, helpful and a hard worker. They have a bar and outside seating along a creek. There is a free parking lot. I got the Led Zeppelin breakfast burrito and it was just alright. I asked for no sour cream and got sour cream. The burrito fell apart when i would cut it and try to eat it. We also got hot wings and they were just alright. Went in for brunch on 9/18/22. When I went in, it wasn't packed. Probably around 60-70% capacity at that point. I sat up at the bar. My water glass had lipstick on it. Flies everywhere. It took over 40 mins to get my eggs florentine. Servers never checkEd up on me. The eggs were also overcooked. Slow, dirty, inattentive. If you're looking for brunch, I'd pass on this place. I just went to the Pine Creek Cafe with my family yesterday and it was great! This is an annual tradition with my family, and this last visit was far better than the ones in previous years. It looks like they may have revamped the menu. The table shared an appetizer of trout cakes with red onion relish and balsamic cole slaw. The cakes fell apart (of course--it's trout), but the flavor was wonderful. I had the trout tacos which included flaked trout, avocado cilantro crema, corn and black bean salsa, and lettuce. I really enjoyed the texture of the flaked trout and the combination of the trout, crema and salsa. They were served with rice pilaf, which was good and a welcome addition after going to far too many restaurants that serve everything with fries. My dad and cousin both ordered a Montana (bison) burger but asked for the western burger's chipotle barbecue sauce. They both loved their meals. Finally, my cousin ordered the brownie sundae and it was delicious and huge! We will definitely return as soon as we can! read more

I love music, but I also love good food. Not the best food and walking down the highway to come here is ridiculous. How can this place expect people to risk getting hit to eat brunch? I was holding tight to our kids hands walking on the shoulder. The place could be better if it were actually kept up but it feels rundown. Update: Although they show closed now, there are new owners, so they should be reopening the Summer of 2016 if not earlier. Will re-review then. Food is topnotch with a broad selection, and restaurant has comfortable atmosphere. The prices are more than reasonable given quality and ambition of the food. Good selection of local micro-brews. And unlike a lot of restaurants in this area, there are several items on menu of interest to vegetarians. Only downside is kitchen is slow most of the time, but not a problem if you are there to talk with friends. Can get noisy and crowded when there is entertainment and probably a good idea to have reservations on those nights. This was by far the best food I've had on our trip. We've been super nervous eating out during covid too, but the staff were all wearing masks and were super friendly. Service was excellent and the coffee kept flowing (and was really good). We had the Led Zeppelin, Carlis Santana and Crosby Stills and Nash and all were amazing. Super generous portions so if you are lite eater consider sharing. We were also blessed with live acoustic music that was a real treat (first in a year). I am always floored by Pat's amazing menu's. The man is beyond compare. His food is creative and the flavors are just incredible. Falafel bites and tot-chos so good I can't stop eating... I'm going to have to roll uphill to the "cabin." My daughter ate ALL of her mac-n-cheese, which is legendary. I ate some of her fries and they're aaallllmost as good as the Stockman's when they cut their own by hand. Damn tasty, and I think maybe the best fries in the valley. Carolina. Pork. Platter. Well this place , it was good and it was actually my first restaurant since the pandemic started. And a good way to get back into the swing of things. I've gone to this tiny local restauraunt several times in recent years, and I love the small and community feel of the environment. This place may seem low key, but the menu strives for good food. They also have a store inside, and I appreciate they serve the community of the convenience to pick up some food/drink goods. What I love about this place is that it is on the way between Livingston to Chico. If you are looking for a restaurant to eat in Paradise Valley, don't want to eat at Chico or Livingston, then Pine Creek Cafe is the destination. I've had delicious burgers (MT burger w/ chipotle bbq sauce), trout cakes, and I am always a sucker for brownie sundaes. The prices are reasonable for what you get portions and quality of the food. I hope this place continues to be in Pine Creek for many more years. read more

I've been to Pine Creek numerous times during my vacations to Paradise Valley and now that I am living here this summer I will be going more frequently. I should also mention I am a vegetarian and as crazy as that my seem living in the land of cows and mutton Pine Creek is still has great options for non-meat eaters such as a pasta dish and veggie quesadilla options. They have wonderful brunches on Saturday and Sunday with wonderful pancakes and french toast; they even have real maple syrup! Tip: it's a brunch menu only on weekends (No lunch). During the summers they have an outdoor BBQ on Saturday nights and also Thursday nights there is a Blue Grass jam session where locals come and all play a sort of improv show. Yes, the food service can be slow (up to 45 mintues once you order) at peak times and they do run out of certain dishes but the vibe and eclectic nature of the entire place more than make up for these. Reservations during the busy summer season are a good thing. Try this place! It's a good option (and good prices) for a place to have a wonderful dinner in the valley. read more

Worth the scenic detour. A great local hangout with a good variety on the menu. I had a delicious burger and perfectly seasoned tater tots. This is probably the best restaurant between Livingston and Gardiner, Montana. It is off the beaten path, which means they need to try harder, and I can tell they do. The food is exceptional (although would it kill you to have specials every night?) and the ambiance is superb. It's got a bit of a beatnik flavor to the joint, which is good. It's a bit retro trendy, which is very good. I'm really pulling for these guys to succeed. The Caesar salad is spot on. They even make it with anchovies, which is traditionally how they are made, but not expected in rural Montana. The other food is well done. The staff, whom I do not know, is exceptional, helpful, and accommodating. For the sake of Montana I hope this place makes it. It deserves to make it. read more

This place broke my heart. My family and I used to love the Pine Creek Cafe. Now...it's a disaster. Ever since it was bought by a new owner, the place took a major nose-dive. What did they do with the best thing on the menu - the trout tacos? They took them off. Huh? The menu used to be quirky and contained all kinds of great food. Now? It's boring and bland - worse than mediocre. Such a shame. I remember when it used to be packed there, and you'd have to call days in advance for a reservation. But now, no one I know from the area goes there. And that's a real disservice to the community. Paradise Valley deserves much better. All told, it's not a business we can support. We can just hope that they can return the place to its former glory. Lets hope it can happen...soon! read more

It's with a heavy heart that I give good ol' Pine Creek a bad review. My wife and I have been there several times in the past couple decades. It's location, laid back atmosphere and typically awesome food have always been a hit. But last night was a severe departure from what we found to be the norm. We were a party of four and had the Trout Tacos, PCL Burgers, and a Trout Filet. While the food was okay, several things that were wrong prompted this review: salads with the wrong dressings, having to remind the server to bring the additional sides we ordered, and the mouse that was running around about the time we finished eating... All these things I gave a pass to, because it looked like the the servers were overwhelmed and I respect how hard they have to work. However, in reviewing my credit card receipt this morning, we were double-charged for our drinks, adding an additional $40 to our otherwise reasonable tab! It's my fault for not being more diligent and reviewing my tab. But nonetheless, I doubt we'll be back to Pine Creek, which is sad. Kinda like loosing an old friend... read more

Went there with local friends on July 6. Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes to be served. Should have left. No apologies or explanations from the unsympathetic staff. Finally got served our bison burgers, overcooked, ridiculously small, pathetic sprinkling of blue cheese, with a side of generic potato chips, all for $11.50! Don't go! We'll never return, and neither will our friends who remembered it much more fondly in the past. read more

What a wonderful surprise to find this high quality restaurant so close to my KOA for the next couple of nights. I was warmly greeted by the owner and given my choice of table (I chose one that gave me a view of the snow-covered peaks). I had a local beer, and ordered the trout with seasonal vegetables and quinoa pilaf. It was all perfection. The veggies were roasted Brussels sprouts, cooked al dente, with a nice carmelized edge. The quinoa pilaf made an attractive and tasty addition to the plate, and provided a way to capture the butter and garlic from the tender locally sourced rainbow trout. An outstanding dinner and a reasonable price ($19 for the trout plate). I'm going back tomorrow to try something else! read more
