Adriana was incredible - the wines were perfectly paired, the banter was great (we got reccs for future meals / bars on top of how good we were taken care of in the present) the menu was fully known front to back - our meals were all split into two plates without asking - 11/10 service The food was SO good whole menu was on point - the trout can't be missed and they know it's a star... the sleeper hit was the bread and butter - I honestly don't care about bread and butter usually - it's fine - but theirs had so much thought and care put into it - it set us up for the rest of the deliciousness that was to come. We had a dinner reservation for 4 on a Sunday evening during our recent visit to Bozeman. At the restaurant, we were given a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We chose outdoor seating. Bitterroot Bistro didn't disappoint. A classy establishment with an array of deckhouses menu options. While in Bozeman I made dinner reservations (recommend) and we were seated right by the window. I was feeling adventurous and wanted to try the bison tartare, more so just curious. Chatted with the server about it before I ordered and made the decision to just try it! It's definitely an acquired taste and a little gamey to my liking. It was prepared beautifully just wasted for me. The smash burger was so thin and crunchy and burnt and I couldn't even eat the fries but my aunt loved them. The pasties special was good with the gravy, very hearty, special portion 2 pasties was enough. Huckleberry options were good. The bathroom was cute. Server was new but polite. Sweet little spot in Old Town Bozeman. Found with the help of trusty Yelpers! Thanks guys! Arrived after the lunch rush and before Happy Hour so it was quiet. We ordered Smash Burgers, one with a side of fries and one with a side salad. Absolutely delicious! Fries were perfect and the side salad was a cut above. Nice mix of field greens with a small amount of iceberg which added crunch and body. Do order the white wine vinaigrette! I rarely leave reviews but this place is definitely good enough for an exception! So unbelievably tasty. I have eaten here a couple times and everything has always been fantastic. Working in kitchens my whole life and now owning my own restaurant makes me even more in tune with what food can be elevated to, and this place has made me realize how much higher the quality of food could possibly be. We rarely go out, but we are so glad we did. We had the croquettes and Waldorf salad to start. They were a perfect starter. The burger is just delicious...so juicy cooked just perfectly. I'm pretty picky. I will try the smash burger next time. The rib eye was pricey but worth it. It paired well with simple veggies and mashed potatoes done right. We'll stay for dessert next time. I have to say, we came to town with no intention of going out to dinner and came across bitterroot, we could have looked better as we had been working in the garage. Austin our waitress greeted us with a smile and the most hospitable service we have gotten in years downtown. The restaurant located just off main is the perfect place to not battle crowds and just enjoy your evening out with the fantastic music and excellent drink selection. I took my fiancé to Bitterroot Bistro for his birthday and we had a fabulous time! It is a small restaurant but the atmosphere is great and you don't have to worry about noise. You can also walk in and get a seat easily which is a plus. The servers were very friendly and gave great recommendations. We started with the beef pasties. They were very flavorful and the perfect sized appetizer. The Waldorf salad and homemade spiced dressing was delicious. The server let us know that they will split salads & entrees for no extra charge. My fiancé and I decided to shared the ribeye. The photo is of a half portion which I thought was still a lot of food. The steak was seasoned & cooked perfectly! The mashed potatoes were delicious and creamy. We had the lemon posset for dessert. We loved it I didn't even get a chance to snap a picture. My husband and I shared a Ribeye, and our party of four started with their out of this world Mac & Cheese - and an order of homemade bread, so sharing the ribeye was plenty, topped off sharing a heavenly crème brûlée ... I am happy this place has received so many 5-star reviews. I was hoping that would be my experience too, but it wasn't. Five of us went because 3 people wanted the steak, which they were out of. Really? First disappointment. So, we all ordered burgers medium cooked, as the other items seemed a bit overpriced. When the burgers finally arrived 45 minutes later (with only 2 other tables of people who recently received their burgers), they were cooked very medium rare. Really? Our other disappointment. After waiting so long, there was no way we were going to send them back, but we did mention it to our wait person, who we had to wave over to get water refills. If the burgers weren't a click above rare, they would have been good. And the fries were very good. I'm not sure I would return, but I do wish them the best. read more

They say this space is cursed but each restaurant that has opeated at this location has been amazing (Barley & Vine, Last Call in particular). It's hard to review a restaurant that is in its first week or so of operations so I will just say that the space is NOT cursed and we absolutely need a bistro in this neighborhood. This was my third time dining here and I can safely say that it is one of the best dining experiences in Bozeman. The trout is absolutely amazing. All the flavors mesh perfectly. The 1/2 chicken was very juicy and flavorful with a perfect demi glacé. And the croquettes are to die for. All in all, the food did not miss a beat.
