Smash burger with fries
Leslie H.

Sweet little spot in Old Town Bozeman. Found with the help of trusty Yelpers! Thanks guys! Arrived after the lunch rush and before Happy Hour so it was quiet. We ordered Smash Burgers, one with a side of fries and one with a side salad. Absolutely delicious! Fries were perfect and the side salad was a cut above. Nice mix of field greens with a small amount of iceberg which added crunch and body. Do order the white wine vinaigrette! Since it was slow, had a nice conversation with our very personable server, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely give this place a try!

We rarely go out, but we are so glad we did. We had the croquettes and Waldorf salad to start. They were a perfect starter. The burger is just delicious...so juicy cooked just perfectly. I'm pretty picky. I will try the smash burger next time. The rib eye was pricey but worth it. It paired well with simple veggies and mashed potatoes done right. We'll stay for dessert next time. Service and ambiance were great. Thank you for a great night out.

I took my fiancé to Bitterroot Bistro for his birthday and we had a fabulous time! It is a small restaurant but the atmosphere is great and you don't have to worry about noise. You can also walk in and get a seat easily which is a plus. The servers were very friendly and gave great recommendations. We started with the beef pasties. They were very flavorful and the perfect sized appetizer. The Waldorf salad and homemade spiced dressing was delicious. The server let us know that they will split salads & entrees for no extra charge. My fiancé and I decided to shared the ribeye. The photo is of a half portion which I thought was still a lot of food. The steak was seasoned & cooked perfectly! The mashed potatoes were delicious and creamy. We had the lemon posset for dessert. We loved it I didn't even get a chance to snap a picture. Definitely check out Bitterroot Bistro! We thought the prices were worth it for the high quality meal and experience.

I have to say, we came to town with no intention of going out to dinner and came across bitterroot, we could have looked better as we had been working in the garage. Austin our waitress greeted us with a smile and the most hospitable service we have gotten in years downtown. The restaurant located just off main is the perfect place to not battle crowds and just enjoy your evening out with the fantastic music and excellent drink selection. The food was out of this world, the best ribeye in the valley by far. Not to mention the trout alone my wife had made me want to come back. This has become bar non out new go to spot!

I found it to be overpriced and the food over salted. The one highlight were the mashed sweet potatoes, they were delicious!

The only bison tartare we found during our whole trip- we loved it! The burger and trout dip were excellent. Get the ranch!

Our party of 4 ate here for our first meal in Montana. The place is much bigger inside than how it…read morelooked outside. When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite of what I expected. We were seated quickly on a Monday evening, and our server let us know she was new, which we completely understood since we both work in the service industry. Ordering was simple--my friend mentioned an apple allergy, and we each made straightforward requests. There was a slightly odd moment where the server said she couldn't ring in my friend's order a certain way because the kitchen would "make fun of her," but we brushed it off. Things really went downhill when the food arrived. Both meals were completely wrong. When the food was dropped off (by someone other than our server), there was a snarky comment referencing the apple allergy, which was uncomfortable. We sent the food back, expecting a quick fix--but it came out wrong again. And then a third time. At that point, we were honestly shocked. I've never had an order come out incorrectly three times in a row. Eventually, a manager brought the food out correctly, but there was no real apology for the repeated mistakes. Our server explained it was the kitchen's fault, but it was frustrating that no one double-checked the orders before bringing them out each time. The whole experience ended up taking over two hours, which felt excessive given how simple the order was. We also felt that, given the circumstances, some kind of comp or acknowledgment would have been appropriate, but nothing was offered. Overall, it was a really disappointing and honestly embarrassing experience--especially after talking the place up so much beforehand.

He sat at the bar since we were only going to get some appetizers and drinks. I really did love the decor. It was gothy but overwhelming. I did like that they had some non-alcoholic options. However, the most appealing one had strawberries in it, and they were out of them. They were also out of the tacos, which was a little surprising since we got there an hour after they opened. We ended up having the nachos and the oysters. The oysters were good. The nachos were OK. The drinks were also very underwhelming. My son had a Paloma and I have tasted way way better. Service was good. Everyone was friendly and answered all of our questions. This is a really cool place to come and hang out with some friends, but it's more about the atmosphere than it is really the food and drinks.

The Devil's Toboggan EXCEEDED our expectations. We found this "randomly" and decided to go because of the prohibition vibes. The second you walk into the Toboggan, you step back in time. We were immediately greeted and sat at the bar. We ordered an old fashion and Huckleberry Lemon Drop (recommend both). Honestly, I don't think it matters what you order...it's going to be good. Let's talk about the customer service. A+ ladies and gents! We ended up having a great conversation with the bar back and other patrons which topped off the experience. P.S. if you like deviled eggs, get them. They are delicious, especially if they still have the ones with the sausage. #drool
