Came here for dinner with a big group of 14 and was delighted with the experience from start to finish. We had made reservations ahead of time, but the place is rather large with a lot of seating options. Our waiter, Nick, was fantastic and really helped make the experience just even a little bit better. The experience, from design to music, was country all the way through and our whole party loved it. We started with the spinach artichoke dip which was ooey gooey and delicious and we were even offered some extra bread to finish off what was left as a nice gesture! The real star of the show though is the steaks. I went for the ribeye with he herbed butter, but truly you couldnt go wrong with any of the options. All were perfectly cooked and seasoned and a more than generous portion. Sides were also amazing, one of the best Caesar salads I've had (and even authentic with an offering of anchovies!) and the baked potato is always a favorite of mine, but still done right. I also tried the huge mountain of fries my girlfriend got and they were amazingly salty and crispy and the chef's vegetable of the day was asparagus, which as far as I'm concerned should be the chef's vegetable everyday! We were invited to a special celebration at The Mint. The staff were friendly and helped us pull off the celebration. Our host said everything she has had at The Mint was good. Three people in our party had their favorite - French onion soup - and were very satisfied. I ordered the roasted half chicken and shared brussel sprouts with a friend. The brussel sprouts were good but a little sweet for my taste. The dark meat on roasted half chicken was delicious, but the white meat was dry, stringy and had no flavor. The dish came with mashed potatoes which looked smooth but had chunky pieces of potatoes. Another item was asparagus, which may have been steamed or sauteed. We ordered donut holes to share. It came with two dips: sweet marmalade and decadent chocolate. The donut holes were heavily dusted with cinnamon sugar had a nice crunch on the outside, but the inside was somewhat doughy. The ambience was casual. The lighting was just right, and the noise level allowed for conversation. read more

A few things need to be improved upon : 1.Loud! If they added rugs on floor OR hung on walls it would help absorb the noise. 2. Softer seating would be nice. Hard wooden chairs and booths without any padding made it feel like a country restaurant with high prices. 3. Food was delicious!! My steak was over cooked. Has to cook me another one. They have bread n butter you evidently have to ask for... We were visiting from FLORIDA. When we return next year we may try this restaurant again. See if they consider improvements. read more

The food was eh (a few in my party didnt have hot food) service was horrible and when I gave my server my credit card to pay your system wasnt working. After 3 different cards and the humiliation of everyone around me thinking I dont pay my bills, the server saying "did you know credit cards have limits? " I was needless to say upset. We went to The Mint with another couple after a long hiatus hoping for great food. To start, the service was terrible. Placed an order for drinks, after a half hour we had to waive down the server. She said they were backed up ( Tuesday night) and tge checked on our drinks. She brought the beer and wine, and said the bartender had to make the other two. I ordered a Moscow mule, which came in a glass with a lemon slice, no mint, no ginger beer- was like some sort of lemonade concoction. There were two orders of French Onion soup- both had stiff onion peels in the broth. Another soup came barely warm. A stroganoff was ordered- no sauce, just a plop of sour cream- not good. Salads were so, so. The best part was the Bulgogi meatball appetizer. Definitely will not be going back, huge disappointment! read more

First we had friends in town for a visit. We had not been to The Mint in quite some time. We had heard that they had improved and thought it was a good chance to go check it out. One of the dishes that we always liked was there onion rings. But alas, they are no longer available. This turned out to be the first of many disappointments. The server was not only untrained but lifeless. No smiles, no friendliness just very bland. In addition, she was not knowledgeable about anything that was available. Oh well enough about the service. We ordered the tenderloin, the chicken fried chicken, and I ordered the beef stroganoff. I am a big fan of beef stroganoff when prepared properly. This was one of the absolute worst beef stroganoff I have ever had. The beef was shoe, leather, the noodles were totally undercooked, and finally the dishes itself was flavorless. We're finished trying The Mint. It remains the below average food experience we remember. read more

We stopped in after a LONG day of travel and the staff seems to spot out of towners with laser vision. I wouldn't say they were super friendly or attentive but the food was good. We sat at the bar and just grabbed a bite and a drink before heading to our AirBnB. We didn't feel unwelcome, its just that we didn't exactly feel welcome. The bartender seemed to be quite busy so when another staffer gave us attention we happily took it. Came in this evening as I read some reviews about this place and decided to give it a try. There was a 45 min wait to get seated so we went down the street to the casino until they text us to let us know our table was ready l. I got the special spaghetti and meatballs. She got the stuffed peppers and really liked it. My sister in law got the wedge salad but her chicken on the salad was very spicy. We all got our drinks besides my wine. I waited for my water to over get filled back up. My brother asked for some more tea and he never got it. Service was a little sub par. But that's what I had heard when I had read the previous reviews. Other than the sub par service we enjoyed our meals. Also, they need to add a little bit more gravy to the braised beef too. I had their prime ridge special. The fries were burned and and the meat was not good, I told told the waiteress and the manager that it was not good. There was only an apology from the manager and that was it. I paid the full price for the meal but no ajustment for the price of the meal was offered. I do not recommend this establishment. They are brain dead when it comes to customer service. I do not fault our waitress, she was very good. It is all about the management who needs to be trained in how to handle customer cpmplaints. read more

The food is amazing! Its about the only reason we come back. Its way to hit and miss with the service and its useualy a miss. The guy that alwayse has the ball cap on and looks like he has better things to do, I think is most of the problem. He made me and my family of 4 with small children wait 45 min for a table. While we stared at an empty table. He sat us at that table........ it was empty 45 min! Food was awesome. If the waitresses have the right back up its an awesome place. Every we are in there, and he is working the whole place just seems frustrated and the service is off. I grew up on Bozeman, but live far away now. When I come back to visit, one of the highest priority places for me to come is the Mint. It has been in Belgrade all my (kinda long) life, Even way back, it had a reputation as one of the places worth a drive from Bozeman for a steak. And it is. I always get the 16 oz boneless ribeye with a baked potato and a Caesar salad on the side. That is too much for me to eat these days, so I like to bring someone like-minded with me to split it, and neither of us leave hungry! But it is not just a big hunk meat. It is a delicious, well prepared big hunk of meat with good sides and great service in a laid-back, semi-historic setting. Check it out. They can get busy. Come early. read more

Ok...more like 3.8. I made reservations for 6 and we got a really nice booth. I had called earlier to confirm the corking fee because I wanted to bring some nice Oregon Pinot share with my friends. When I walked in with the wine they told me that they couldn't open any wine that wasn't purchased there. That would have been nice to know because the message that I left said that I was going to bring it and if I didn't hear back then it was ok. Strike one. We ordered and my wife and I split the prime rib special and we also got a Caesar salad with anchovies. Someone else in our party ordered a Caesar salad also but without anchovies. When our server brought the salads we asked him which ones had the anchovies. Well he didn't know because today was his first day. Well it turns out that the servers have to dress up the salads. The food and the menu has gone downhill. My husband ordered skewers and found out it was an appetizer not a meal and came with no sides for $18 very small. You used to get salad and bread with your meal and now you don't get either one . When Jay Bentley owned the Mint it was always good very consistent . Very disappointed and won't be back . The Caesar salad was good and he enjoyed the French onion soup. We both enjoyed the the stroganoff. The steak in the stroganoff was tender and flavorful. The mushroom were also flavorful.
