I am not sure what is going on here. I have been a regular customer for along time. I usually eat here several times a week. I call in my order and pick it up. Now I can't get through on the phone . Yelpers helped me find this spot for a quick lunch - kind of hidden in the Co-Op construction maze. I ventured out to try their Gyro meal and it was great! Showed up at 2 on a Friday and ordered our two sandwiches. 10 minutes later. They say we are out of bread. Do you want a wrap or pita? No offer for refund, nothing. How does a sandwich shop not know multiple orders ahead of time that they will be out of bread? Why was the owner standing there and staring at me with no comment? Get our wraps which is actually is a tortilla and they missed ingredients on both our sandwiches. Went back in since they missed the main ingredient on my sub and go to counter and girl says "uh oh" and then told them they missed the pepperoni. The girl says let me grab some and puts five pieces on then says how is that? I really try like this place but they need some hiring help. Wow. read more

I have been a longtime patron of hero's when the original owners Brett and Connie owned it and they never failed in service and the quality of food. Since the new owners have taken over they are either closed or my sandwich is never right or just tastes plain horrible. These guys need to seriously step up their game. I was so excited to eat here today. I haven't been in quite awhile. Turns out the new owners don't like business because I won't ever go back there now. My boss and co-workers and I decided to do a call in order for 9 sandwiches. The person I spoke with on the phone didn't have anything to say about the size of the order, they didn't mention that it would inconvenience them. I arrived there about 10 minutes after ordering our meals, I waited for our order to be completed, no problem at all, they are busy, but when handed the sandwiches the lady snapped at me and said "next time call the day before", incredibly rudely. A wonderful local Sammy shop. Sandwiches are always good and service is always super friendly. You can tell they are always short on staff as they take while to make and have been closed at normal hours due to shortage of workers. I believe in local business and superb homemade food, so we will continue to support and enjoy Heros. It's been several months since I had last dined here, and I previously went here regularly and received great service and excellent food. We decided to do a group order for lunch today and were utterly disappointed. The order was placed online, and I arrived at the actual pick up time and stood at the counter to be greeted and was not. While waiting, I observed one employee stocking meat, no gloves and touching all parts of what will be consumed by someone next in line today. The cook wiped his knife on a towel hanging on a nearby garbage can...which made me wonder how clean the towel is. The employee handling the counter touched all parts of the register, handled money, and then touched meat and bread to build a sandwich for someone, without any gloves! After 7 minutes passed, I called someone over to see if I could pick up my order which had been sitting there since arrival. No greeting, no smile, no apology for the wait, just "what's your name" and handing me the bag. My cheese steak sandwich was missing cheese, mushrooms and green pepper...sure it was warm but it is not appetizing to have a bunch of dry meat on bread. I really hope this review triggers action to do better...training, service, quality. read more

Meh. I think you probably have to order the unhealthy, indulgent sandwiches to enjoy this place. I ordered the turkey, avocado, and bacon, and was sad to learn the avocado wasn't really avocado. It was more like guacamole filler that is made with mayo so that they don't have to use real avocado. Pretty disappointing. Connie would you or your husband please come back. You and the wrap shack in Big Sky (still awesome thanks to one gal who has soldiered on through it all) have kept me fed for over a decade. I know you deserve your retirement and I know good help is hard to find but still. I decided to treat myself to a 16" super hero today. Working outside in the cold again and struggling to keep my energy and weight up. Need that big feast. The gal that rang it up was really nice and tried her best but I got sugar icing instead of mayo, icky soggy mess and that has become increasingly common the less I see either one of you. As is I am going Subway all the way. Likewise I wish sometime you would let me teach your staff how to do a Greek Gyro right. read more

This place isn't bad food wise. I usually only get a cheesesteak but I can't deal with their prices anymore. They continue to rise with no end in sight. Maybe the owners are just being greedy here but $13.75 for a 12" sandwich is too high. I have no problem paying for good food where deserved but just under $14 for a sandwich is crazy. Not to mention if you want jalapeños on the side they charge an additional $0.50 for a tiny little cup. I don't like being nickel and dimed. It's also irritating that they have the same line for ordering and picking up to-go orders. So if you're there to pick something up and the line is long with customers placing orders you will just have to wait. Seems like there could be a better system put into place. read more

I used to go here almost every day when I was In high school. Tried it again after 15 years away and it's still the best damn sandwiches in town. I always get the either cheese steak, steak and eggs, or grilled chicken. Pickle barrel and subway dont come close the to the taste of the fresh grilled right before your eyes flavor of Hero's. read more

A hidden gem. I'm a sucker for meatball subs and this is one of the best I've had; the bread is fresh and not over-toasted, and the whole sandwich was delicious. Good fries. My boyfriend got the dynamic duo and it looked great-- we appreciate real bacon, not the microwave stuff! Such friendly staff also. The only thing is we think they forgot the cheese on his sandwich, but if that's the worst thing then I think it's ok! We'll come back to try more sammys for sure! The staff was constantly busy cleaning and working, not just standing around which reflects well on the business. read more
