Drove up here on a whim. We had no idea where we wanted to go for dinner but we wanted something laid back. Driving down the street, the building caught my eye so a quick peak at the menu on Yelp and we came in. Quickly seated and then the server came not too long after to take our order. Went here because it was one of the places left open past 9 pm on a Saturday night. We were able to get seats right away. The service was great. Their beer menu is expansive. I'm not into beers but my buddy really liked the beers that he got. We got the potstickers for appetizers. It was good and somewhat spicy with the siracha. I got the ribeye steak medium well and it was delicious and well made. I was actually surprised that I was able to get this quality steak from a bar restaurant. It was good! I drive past it every single time I'm in Bozeman! The sweet potato fries that first came out on my Caesar salad wrap were lukewarm/cold Like they couldn't even pretend that they refresh by putting them in the microwave or something. They brought out a freshly oiled up overcooked sweet potato fries. I didn't say anything. I tried 3 1/2. They were awful chicken. Caesar wrap is good! I think the Caesar dressing has a little too much garlic for me personally Service was OK. Great bar and grill in Bozeman. We were visiting from out of town and looking to have lunch before heading to the airport and this place hit the spot! The staff was friendly and attentive. I absolutely loved the decor and concept of this veteran owned, military themed restaurant. The chicken pot pie was featured on diners drive-ins and dives, and did not disappoint, delicious. The baked beans side were also tasty. My wife's fries arrived cold, and they were promptly replaced with a piping hot fresh batch and an apology. If you're in bozeman, this is a must try. This place was just a must for our visit to Montana. With my son being in the military this was a place he completely enjoyed. Our server was wonderful and she was so attentive and accommodating, great personality. The food was good, you get a lot more than i expected. I was really pleased with the decor. It's done very well, lots of cool stuff but not over done. The center fireside area was my fave. The table and chair for our fallen heroes at the front was a special touch too. Updated review January 2025 We have historically enjoyed Sidewinders. We've recently noted portion sizes are smaller while prices are higher, but we have continued to patronize the place. Unfortunately, our last experience was not good. We love the Cajun Pasta dish. We visit from out of town and always get an order to go to enjoy at home. This time we got home and were disappointed to find no chicken at all in the dish and three small pieces of sausage. The place was packed. The owner is a retired Marine. I had to support my military brother. This is a cool place with a bunch of memorabilia around the restaurant. I sat at the bar where the staff took good care of me. They have us fast service and paid much attention to us. Constantly filling our glass with new drinks. I ordered the French dip with Beer battered french fries. The fries were amazing. Nice and crunchy. Great flavor. The sangawich was good with nice aju. Everything was better than expected. Loved this spot! The place is huge and the decor is so nice, with a big fireplace in the center and an American flag on the wall opposite. It smells great inside when you walk in. Spacious booths and tables make it really comfortable. The food was great! Everything was delish except the French onion soup wasn't very flavorful - the au jus for the French dip was actually better. The potstickers were our fave - the sriracha sauce was sooo good we started dipping the mozzarella squares in it too. My son's steak was perfect - he ate every bite and loved it. Fun atmosphere, great service, yummy food! Our server was Liz, and she was super attentive! We were a party of four, and we had the wings, a buffalo salad, a giant burger, and the pulled pork. All of the entrées were served perfectly, and we finished it off with a boozy milkshake. It was pretty loud inside making it difficult to talk to each other. The price of the food was reasonable for Bozeman. The speed of service was decent. However the fries were barely warm and the Chicken wrap I ordered had some of the driest chicken I have ever tasted. To boot, there was almost no dressing. I could barely eat it. Overall had a good experience. Tried the S pretzel with cheese and bacon and it was good. I got the chicken fried steak dinner and that was delicious but I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture. Got a pitcher of the huckleberry ale. I also tried a bit of the steak nachos and I wouldn't recommend that dish honestly but everything else was good. A not on the pricey side so between 2 people we split the pretzel and dinner. They have an arcade to keep the kids entertained. Service was fast and friendly. Sidewinder's doesn't know what a pizza margherita is. A margherita pizza ALWAYS has fresh basil on it. Yet Sidewinder's wants to charge extra for fresh basil......even when the restaurant's own description states that margherita pizza includes fresh basil? Go figure. Be forewarned! A very large, well decorated place to be. We met a friend here for some American food and beers. The Nashville Chicken Sandwich was not as spicy as I thought it would be, but it was good. As we are passing through on the way to Yellowstone for the night, we wanted a casual place that could cover many preferences. The hotel has Sidewinders top on their list of recommendations. Parking is easy and we were seated right away at a high top We ordered the chicken pot pie, steak, beef fajitas and a salad with avocado and black beans with added chicken. The beef dishes were good and my chicken pot came with an okay Caesar salad. The chicken pot pie filling had a good flavor;, there just wasn't much filling. Hubby's chicken on the salad was horribly overcooked. He took one bite and spit it out. When we told our waiter, he went and got another piece which again was overcooked. While the salad was comped, I'm disappointed that the waiter did not take the extra step of asking what else my hubby would have wanted. He could have offered a different meat, a different entree, etc. Instead, it felt as if he wanted to avoid any further interaction. Hubby's plate was bussed last and prior, after hubby told him after the second fail on the chicken, he left. In fact, we weren't offered any dessert until I asked if they had a dessert menu. Which of course I knew they did because I saw the peanut butter pie go by. Management: Be sure to work on the customer service because it matters. My advice is to have the beef dishes because it's probably locally sourced and have a brew because they have lots of choices. read more

The Yelpers didn't let me down on this place. The high ratings are well deserved for sure. We had a party of 8 and used the online waitlist to get a spot with no trouble on a Monday evening. The place was busy and clearly a favorite of the locals. The atmosphere was perfect for my mood and so I ordered a craft beer and the carne asada nachos as a meal. We were a large party and the staff was attentive, very friendly, and made sure we had a good time. Other orders included some craft cocktails, a French Dip, a jalapeño popper cheese sandwich, and a number of other different items and everyone said the food and drinks were great. They might have the best deck top views in the area. The staff was also a joy to talk to. Beer was cold and they had a good selection on tap. One thing that disappointed me was the Nashville chicken sandwich really wasn't hot at all. Nashville chicken sandwich needs to have a kick and some flavor and unfortunately this sandwich lacked both. I'd go back again and try something different but not the Nash again. First time here in four trips to Bozeman and loved it. Appetizers were great. Fireplace and dining room is beautiful.

The restaurant was beautiful, the seating was a bit awkward but that's alright. Our server was very helpful and recommended us a great starter that we enjoyed. We got the sidewinder pretzel and stuffed it with the sidewinder pizza toppings. It was definitely the best thing we had there. The French onion soup was bland, had no depth of flavor and the bottom was full of dry herbs. I had the Reuben. It was lacking meat and tasted like something I'd get at a 7/11 and the fries that came with it were not seasoned at all. My wife had the chicken pot pie with the Caesar salad. To start the lettuce was not washed well and left a bitter dirt taste that was highlighted because there wasn't enough dressing mixed in. Also the salad was barely mixed. 3/4 of the cheese was stacked up on one side of the plate. The pot pie was an unsettling texture that resembled mush. The carrots and potatoes were the same texture and the chicken was dry and stringy. To top it off the puff pastry on top was under baked and doughy in the center. To wrap it up I'm not sure if we just came in on a rough night or if we just ordered the wrong things but I won't be back to find out. read more
