Pretty neat little place to hang. They have a bar with a liquor store attached. What a concept. They also have slots and one Texas holdem poker table. It's old and rustic. The manager is pretty cool. People seem really nice and the owners look after the ladies who go there. There's some sketchy people there sometimes that you might have to watch out for. Over all good cold beer there is good. Cool thing about this spot is that its only a few blocks down from out hotel. So, if you need some alco beverages and such. This is probably one of the places to go around here. The place is really nice and organized. Shelves were stocked with plenty of liqour and beer and wine and all sorts of good stuff. The setting is well lit. Everything is pretty easy to find. A cozy, dive bar in local Montana! This is most definitely the local watering hole and it immediately gives you a homey feeling as soon as you step in the door. Don't come in with high expectations because the ambiance is all that matters to have a good time at this bar! Come on a Tuesday evening to enjoy the $10 5 card bingo with cash/drink prizes!! Cats paw does have a poker room. They have two tables and both were playing 1/2 no limit HOLDEM. The chips appeared to be new. Clean chips and good quality. Nothing worse than grimy chips, Ugg. The tables were slightly above average and the chairs were comfortable. The dealers would rotate, all of the dealers were fast and good. One dealer even helped a beginner with raise sizing and general poker etiquette. I saw zero errors by any dealer. Overall the players were extremely variable. Some were very competent with large bet sizing and frequent raises. Others were absolutely lousy and seemed like they had no clue what was going on. Calling $200 into a 70 pot with only a straight draw with one card to come , Wow. Another- Calling down with third pair no kicker. They do serve food at the table. read more

Ever since moving to Bozeman from a hipster west coast city, I've looked down on Cat's Paw as being beneath me. It looked like the type of place weirdos from North Dakota would hang out in. For me, I need a restaurant/bar/liquor store to represent my uber-trendy self. Something that could just as easily be in West Hollywood or Portland as in Bozeman. Something where I get to pay my fair share of $60 for a beer and burger. Alas, my Mercedes G-Wagen was being gold plated so I had to borrow my mom's posh whip, a 2018 Subaru Outback. I really didn't want to be seen in public in that mombola-mobile, but I really was hungry and couldn't wait for UberEats to be introduced to my new hipstastic hometown. I had no idea where I could get a burger, it being Montana, of course, so I checked Yelp for a local place to get a brewski (PBR 4 eva) and a burger. I'd give 10 stars if I could. Our group of friends (the Hematomies) frequent the "Paw" to watch UFC fights. Hard to pick a place to sit, because all the waitresses are so good. While we appreciate the large and boisterous man who shops at baby Gap, our favorite server is Brie. Last visit she let us keep our glasses and turned up the volume on the TV just for us! The menu is consistent and non confusing. Make sure you get the tots #heavenly. Pitchers of water are reasonably priced. Also, thanks for keeping the band at bay until the fights are over. ~ WELCOME TO CATS PAW ~ "We never ID you, unless you are actually over 21" I've always had great experiences at Cats Paw. I wish I could rate employees individually, but unfortunately the employee goes with the establishment. I had a bad experience with Nina and have never had such poor customer service from somebody is in a service industry position. Nina informed that it is a state law that you have to be 21 to be in an establishment that is licensed to sell liquor. I just called Montana Department of Revenue- Liquor Control Division and Liquor Education and they have informed me that there is no state law that prohibits anyone under the age of 21 being in an establishment that sells alcohol, however establishments are allowed to have house rules. I understand that they have the right to refuse service as an establishment, but employees should be better educated instated of misinforming customers of laws that do not exist. I just wanted to a meal with my friends that are visiting from out of town and show them a nice local place, instead I was humiliated and had awful service. I have been a montana resident my entire life and been in Bozeman for 6+ years. I have been a consistent customer of Cats Paw for years, but unfortunately due to Nina me and my friends will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Came here to watch UFC 65. The place was completely packed and I was standing most of the night until someone left and I managed to grab her chair. Noone asked me if I wanted a drink even though I could have used multiple beers throughout the fight. The place has slot machines and a ton of tv's. However, it's really dirty and reeks of cigarettes. A fight actually broke out inside the bar during the UFC fight (Not unusual seeing how there is so much testosterone going around). Once I had finished picking out my order, they proceeded to ring up another customer behind me who had fewer items than me because "he would be quicker" rather than ring me up because I was in line first. As a woman, I felt completely undervalued as a customer, with the male cashier having checked out a male customer who was behind me in line. We left $20.25 on a $12.25 tab and then when asked about the change she didn't apologize and just dropped the $. Waitress then came back to tell our birthday party of 15 people that we shouldn't move seats, ask for separate tickets, or do th normal things that large parties do. While she was saying this diatribe the was spilling the beer on herself and our table that was intended for another customer. When I warned her about the alcohol spilling her remark was, it's the cats paw, we spill beer here. Then she called big John over, who may or may have not slept under a bridge last night and I was asked to leave. The fiasco actually ended up making the birthday that much better in the end. So it's Labor Day and I dropped my car off at the shop, this pace is open at 8 and serving beer! To be honest from the outside this place looks like you wouldn't want to go inside, but when you do it's actually very nice and clean. A monster of a dive bar. Seems like an acre of space filled with big TV's, pool tables, slots, and a long long bar. The outside after dark looks like a National Geographic photo of a dive. If there's a place that carries the torch for dive bars in Bozeman, it's the Cat's Paw. When they agreed to bring the big sign down lower, I was disappointed that the testosterone dropped just a notch.
