A classic Livingston experience with really, really good wood-fired pizza. I recommend the Artichoke Pizza and the Roasted Garlic Pizza.

Much of the essence of Livingston appears to be represented by the Murray Bar part of an historic hotel. While some iconic bars can over do the decor, Murray has just about the right amount to keep it interesting. You can feel the history from the walls. Better yet I enjoyed a very good burger and some very addicting yam fries with a cold brew. This is a perfect place for a nice day as the bar opens up and there is a lot of outside air. Fun place and I believe a required stop if you meander around this quaint town.

Nashville hot chicken with Cesar salad - extra anchovies!

I'm a California but frequent Montana a few times a year. My first stop, no matter where in the area I'm staying, is Murray's bar. Some of the best pizza I've ever had! The true star of the show though is the Nashville chicken. I get a Cesar salad, extra anchovies, and add the hot Nashville chicken on top. The hot, spicy, crispy chicken against the cool and crisp romaine, mixed with the tangy dressing and salty anchovies is almost too much for me to bare. LOL. The strawberry jalapeño margarita from here is one of my favorites. The service never disappoints either. Good always comes out fast. Super fun vibe in this place too. Definitely one of Livingston's best.

    Green Chile burger. Awesome!!

From the outside it looks like an old dive bar, but as you walk closer, you can see that the walls have been opened to the street, and that it actually looks very inviting (not that anything is wrong with a dive bar). The nice thing as you walk in is that the dive bar part still exists. Plenty of locals sitting at the bar, but to the right is a casual restaurant where we all sat. There were 6 of us, and everyone raved about their food. I ordered a green Chile burger, with a salad. Amazing !! It tasted soo good. So much flavor. Blown Away. The other guys also loved their meals. 2 had chicken Cesare salads, and raved about the chicken. Nice beer selection as well. I had a bloody Mary, and it was on point too. Go here !!!

It's in the downtown it's actually bigger than it looks outside and the decor is western. They have a big menu and nice bar but I had already ate I just watched tv for awhile the place was busy and it's probably the nicest bar in town

Sitting at Murray bar with the family.

Murray Bar is FANTASTIC! The bartenders we encountered were super knowledgeable and fun. Great drinks and prices! If you are hungry you can order food from Gil's Goods, which is connected to the bar. Order at the bar, and they will bring it over to you-simple. There are Tv's to watch your favorite sports games and later in the night there is a live band. (When we were there we noticed live music on Friday and Saturday). We spent a lot of time here on our trip, from the morning with ordering breakfast at Gil's and sitting in the Murray bar, to dinner and drinks-very accommodating. This place seems to be the hot spot in town and I can see why.

Beavers, live music, craft & nitro beer, sports...and dogs, lots of dogs!

Laid back, locals only type dive bar with a friendly attitude towards those just passing through, just like the freight trains across the street. They offer live music, killer craft beers (including nitro pours), cocktails, food from Gil's Goods next door featuring burgers, sandwiches, wings and wood-fired pizza with both traditional & non-traditional toppings like the taco pizza which is exactly what it sounds like: taco beef, lettuce, cheese, tortilla chips & salsa. Crowd was a mix of Cowboys, hipsters, housewives, slightly crunchy & dogs at this Fido-friendly bar. Makes for the perfect pit stop/watering hole on your return trip from Yellowstone to Bozeman!

So fun! Sage had great energy! Our group of out-of-towners had a blast. Would definitely recommend.

Limited menu due to Covid? It's 2024, I don't get it. Poor service, bugs on the window. Find a better establishment to patron.

The Female bartenders are rude and unpleasant. Don't sit at the bar if you came to eat. The food is good.

At a near century old establishment serving steaks the whole time is a hard thing to do. There are lots of restaurants that pivot and change and use burgers to get by, but steaks the whole time is a work that needs to be celebrated. Sure Texas is known for their cattle production and Nebraska for their grain grown to feed cattle, but the beef here, is grass grown, local that could have walked here and there is something to be said about that. That's more than dance with who brung you, but rather eat em where they lay. Apparently this used to be a Butcher Shop / Bank, interesting combo before 1937. Family owned and operated for generations. I came here 3 times while I was passing thru they do alot of things well. The BYO burger upgraded to Bison is a rarity and a must. The Fried Chicken sandwich is hearty and balanced with the horseradish, tomato, pickles. It doesn't even need cheese. Rocky Mountain oysters and tender with just enough chew. The breaded cheese curds hold up well to dipping sauces which most normal curds dont. Rocker sauce is good, but never figured out what was in it. Tangy, sweet. Loved the Wedge salad, the ranch was outstanding. Prime rib after 5pm, upgrade your sides to loaded baked potato and a wedge side salad, it's worth it. The 10 oz is more like 12 and the 16 oz is more like 18. Great crust and seasoning, zesty horseradish. Wall to wall pink, tender, juicy. No sauces here like au poive or a bernaise. Save room for dessert their carrot cake is moist, soft and sweet. the peanut butter pie is a downhome classic and the oreos, my god. Service is great, prices are good for the area. Ambiance is excellent. It's a great representation of what an area can do without trying to be like someone else. I actually had their shrimp which is odd being so far from water here, they obliged me to get them all 3 ways if I ordered 2 orders.

It's especially nice when some other local steakhouses are no longer around. The ambiance definitely had a country western theme. We ordered Rocky Mountain oysters as an appetizer. I've had them in numerous other places and I thought these were the most "Stringy" or "tough" kind of like there were strings of meat that didn't want to let go... so it wasn't incredibly mouth pleasing but I know it's probably more the bulls fault than the restaurants fault! prime rib I had was cooked very well and the au jus had good flavor is probably the reason for the 4th star. They did forget my mushrooms though so it keeps it at a 4 star for me. We will be back though to try it again. The bar next door has a large dance floor with the live music so that is nice.
