Earths treasure- eggplant, potato, pepper
Karishma A.

**vegetarian review** I stopped by here on my way to Yellowstone! It was a chatgpt recommendation. It's located in a very cool hipster location. Maybe cute stores around. I got the earths treasure - stir fry eggplant and the cold sesame noodle. The portions was well size and both dishes were quite delicious! Little pricy but good food. The service was also pretty fast.

Amazing Asian food, accurate tastes. Albeit expensive. We ordered braised pork belly, mapo tofu, Thai noodles, 3 treasures, Dan Dan Noodle. They were all very tasty. My favorite is Dan Dan Noodle, it was spicy and the sauce was rich, and noodle was tender. Mapo was right on the spot, exactly as it should taste. The pork belly was great, a bit hard on the lean meat but the fat melted right away. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much was the chicken noodle. The soup and noodles was good, just the chicken had some flavors that I didn't love.

Lamb Skewers

We just had to go back to Shan. We wanted to try more dishes and revisit our faves from our last experience here. The service was as excellent as before. Hubby had the lamb skewers which was a special and said they were super tender and bursting with flavor. They had been braised and then grilled. We shared the Changsha Cold Noodle dish. It was spicy (not too) and refreshing at the same time. We again sat at the community table as we couldn't get a reservation until 8:30pm and we were hungry at 5pm when they opened. They're busy for good reason.

This place is DA BOMB!! It's basically a mixture of Asian fusion/Thai/Chinese goodness with the concept of tapas but just larger portions that are meant to be shared. Everything we got was so delicious!! Tamarind ribs - delicious! Tender and smoky and amazing flavor Bison Tofu - herbaceous and the Szechuan peppercorns added a nice flavor and kick to it. Pairs well with rice! Cumin lamb noodle - light, explosive flavors that is just so good in every bite Didn't expect to find this kind of place in Bozeman. I will definitely come back here on my next trip to Bozeman!!

It is nice to see that Bozeman has a Chinese option now, even if it is a modern take on some classic Asian dishes. Shan is located inside an industrial type building with other restuarants/bars inside. We arrived just after 5pm on a Wednesday with no reservation and were able to get seated at the bar with no wait. I was surprised that we got in as it was the day before July 4 and the town was busy. I would definitely recommend getting a reservation here as it does get busy. We started off with the cucumber salad. I loved the addition of the cilantro and chili oil with the large slices of cucumber. It was perfect for the warmer weather. I do feel like there was a bit too much salt on this dish. Next up was the Cumin Lamb Noodles. Again, I appreciated the adition of cilantro here as lamb noodles can get a bit heavy. I do feel like most dishes were on the saltier side and I was reaching for my glass of water after most bites. The noodles were perfectly al dente and chewy with a nice spring to them. We also got the pork wing soup and a lamb special dish. The soup had a very strong taste of lemongrass I believe. I don't personally like lemon grass so this was a pass for me. However, my husband loved this dish and said he wished it was cooler so that he could enjoy the soup properly. It would also be good with a bowl of rice. The lamb dish had pieces of meat that were super soft and you didn't even really need to bite it for it to dissolve in your mouth. It was very seasoned but again, would have been great with some rice. I really enjoyed the open kitchen concept and that the chef stopped by to chat. The dishes were on the saltier side but other than that, no complaints. I would not hesitate to make a reservation as soon as I knew I was heading back to Bozeman.

I lived in Montana for a month on business and this was the best meal I ate, by miles. Aggressively ordered as a 3 top of women and every dish was flavorful, balanced, and worth of a repeat order. Really taken aback by the whole experience. Can't say enough good things. If I can make it back, getting back here is a top priority. Cheers.

The ambience is a fun place with classic rock music playing. The place is hopping and I would highly recommend having a reservation. Jordan, our server, was knowledgeable about the dishes and was able to provide great recommendations. The food is an Asian fusion with a twist. Everything we had was great and looking at other tables every dish looked delicious! It is served family style and comes out as soon as it is ready regardless of what else you may have ordered. I was in town for one day. I was looking for a good Thai place, and this place came up. The restaurant is inside an office building looking place. I walked in and was seated at the bar quicky. No waiting. Nice. The waitress was nice and helpful. She gave me some ideas and helped me pick some great plates. I started with the soup of the day. Man, that was some awesome soup. Great flavor. Nice spices and vegetables. The main dish came out, and as good as the soup was, I thought I would just take it with me for tomorrow's lunch. The Khao Soi came out. I asked for a little rice for the dish. Everything was flavorful and plentiful. Good taste. (Just FYI. Everything is a la cart, so beware.) This was a huge meal for just one person so bring a friend. Great place for a date. Nice atmosphere. Good food. Great service. That's what I'm talking about. Recommend.

We started with the beet and burrata salad, which was full of yummy complimenting flavors and fun textures. I think it could have done without the yellow peppers but I just ate around those. The pepitas with the pistachio butter and beets were excellent, and the burrata added a creamy touch. We also tried the frites and fondue. The fries were thick and browned how I like them, but the fondue wasn't my favorite and was a little too overpowering in flavor for my taste. The parmesan on top of the fries was a nice touch. For beverages I had a local pale ale from Bridger brewing that was crisp and went well with the meal, and my partner tried the rotations shrub (peach), which she said was just okay. The star of the show was the arrabiata pasta made with vodka sauce and Calabrian chilis. The pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente and was well sauced, truly delicious. The ambiance is nice, and the service was fine. They checked on us frequently but not entirely friendly, maybe our waitress was having a bad day. The meal was a little on the pricier side but I felt the happy hour prices were fair. We would return when visiting Bozeman.

**November 2025: Saturday Night**…read more My mom and I were looking for a spot to enjoy dinner that had parking. We drove around downtown Bozeman for a good 30 minutes, and didn't have any luck in securing parking. I found Mountain Walking Brewery and thought I'd take a chance and prayed that there would be a lot or that I would be super lucky with street parking. We were in luck and there was one very small spot near the front of the restaurant - hallelujah! The restaurant was poppin' - almost every table was taken, but we were offered bar seating and we gladly accepted. After purusing through the menu I decided that we should try a variety of items including a side of Brussels sprouts, Bowl of Bison Chili, and a Fig and Arugula Pizza. Service was quick and we got all our items in a pretty timely manner. The pizza had a really great crust the dough had a nice bounce to it. I think for me they were a tad overly generous with the balsamic vinegar glaze which made the pizza quite salty. I would definitely order a pizza again but perhaps the Margherita or the Carnivore. The bison chili was a good standard bowl and the brussel sprouts while crispy was also very salty - I think it was definitely over dressed, but maybe since the majority of patrons were drinkin the salty foods would pair well. Seems like a fun place to hang out, but for me I'd probably pick anything that doesn't have glaze or soy sauce.

When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite of what I expected. We were seated quickly on a Monday evening, and our server let us know she was new, which we completely understood since we both work in the service industry. Ordering was simple--my friend mentioned an apple allergy, and we each made straightforward requests. There was a slightly odd moment where the server said she couldn't ring in my friend's order a certain way because the kitchen would "make fun of her," but we brushed it off. Things really went downhill when the food arrived. Both meals were completely wrong. When the food was dropped off (by someone other than our server), there was a snarky comment referencing the apple allergy, which was uncomfortable. We sent the food back, expecting a quick fix--but it came out wrong again. And then a third time. At that point, we were honestly shocked. I've never had an order come out incorrectly three times in a row. Eventually, a manager brought the food out correctly, but there was no real apology for the repeated mistakes. Our server explained it was the kitchen's fault, but it was frustrating that no one double-checked the orders before bringing them out each time. The whole experience ended up taking over two hours, which felt excessive given how simple the order was. We also felt that, given the circumstances, some kind of comp or acknowledgment would have been appropriate, but nothing was offered. Overall, it was a really disappointing and honestly embarrassing experience--especially after talking the place up so much beforehand.

We went up & ordered right away. This (our 3rd stop in Montana) was the 1st place to hand us the 3 stamp card. We, not being from Montana, looked at it as if he'd handed us a random appendage from his body, no doubt. All we were trying to do was pay for our drink - ha. His explanation was "that's our tab, if you decide you want another, bring the card up." We tried to explain that we didn't want another. We were only having one & we'd like to pay. He told us to hold on to the card & pay after we were done. We went out back to the permanent food truck and ordered Kels kryptonite, the pretzel & a chicken & Belgian waffle w/ hot honey. It took about 20min. While we waited, we sipped our beer and flipped these cards over looking for clues... then we took to Google... then we spied on other people. Maybe we would have enjoyed the beer more if we knew what these cards were for and what the heck we were supposed to do with them! The food was fresh & tasty - we wrapped up & went inside. We were asked for our cards, our book was stamped, we paid for 1 beer & went out still lost... At our NEXT stop, the barkeep explained that by Montana law, there's a 3 pour limit & a lot of larger places uses cards to track pours (aha!) & a strict 8pm cut off for taps - which we came waaay too close to!
