The sushi is ok. I do think it's overpriced. They were pretty small, and we left still hungry. Our rolls were definitely not worth $20 each. My biggest problem was the service. We ended up having to wave someone over so that we could pay after waiting for too long. Because we waved someone over, the staff were mocking us in the corner. This is so you don't waste any time. The Hachi sushi pub is in a building with other restaurants. I don't know what the hip kids call it these days but I would say it's like a grown-up indoor food court.( yeah I'm old and that's a reference. I'm gonna use, deal with it!) one of the great things about a situation like this is even though Hachi sushi pub had their own bar you could still get a drink from the full bar from the restaurant next to us. As long as you stay within the confines of the building and I believe outdoor patio, you can wander around with your beer, wine or cocktail. Our server gave a great recommendation for a meal. We both started off with miso soup that had amazing flavor. Sometimes you come across a miso soup that is basically just seaweed water with tofu. This was not the case. It had a real depth to it. We had the pork dumplings, which would've been great on their own, but they came with an aïoli that added an extra kick to them. My wife had the fried rice added chicken along with her Captain Morgan and Diet Coke from the full bar next-door. I had the special K roll that our wonderful wait person recommended along with a drink called the elk hunter. After a couple more of those elk hunters, I would've been in the hills hunting them by hand. We could've spent a lot more time here, but everything was closing up. I am sad. We were only went there once since we are leaving town. I would go back there in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. read more

It's a Monday night, 7pm, and my mother and I had just driven 1,094 miles. As weathered road warriors, we were in desperate need of light fare. After circling the parking lot a few times, we finally found a spot (note: a lot of dining establishments in THE MARKET but not a lot of parking). My mother went in to get a table while I locked up the car. The hostess wasn't extremely helpful because we didn't have reservations. And then Jay enters the scene, our true hero of the evening. He got us sat right away. It was, after all, only a table for two. We put in our order with the waitress: sushi, karage, and some beer (gluten reduced, for the win). Jay circled back to check in and we inquired about whether the karage was gf or not. He went to the kitchen and found that, though typically it was, this particular version wasn't because the kitchen had to sub in soy sauce. I was dismayed as I had hoped to try some. Jay, the hero he was, asked the kitchen to make a gf version for me -- on the house! (And it was delicious) The service was attentive, the food tasty. The music was a bit intense for a dining experience and made it difficult to carry on conversation across the table without shouting -- aside from that, well done! read more

There is a wierd practice of rinsing their "rice of starch." We were sitting at the bar seats and the water in the sink was running continuously, for and 1 1/2 hours. So, of course, conservation-wise, this is a wasteful practice. We literally see the water running down the drain. The best part, was the manager said it "created a nice water feature, just kidding". I've literally never left a review before BUT this was so ridiculous I needed to say something. My friends called to place an order and were answered within seconds. I called maybe 2 minutes later and tried calling 6 more times within 30 minutes and no one answered. I totally understand things get busy but have someone at the phone if you accept over the phone orders?? This is some of the worst food I've ever had in Bozeman. The stir fry rice was impressively bad. It tasted like a pot pie. The carrots were so undercooked that it was like biting into a carrot stick (the celery was the same way). The Krazy Karaage was the opposite. It was fried to a black, burnt crisp. Either the oil was too hot or it was forgotten about. To be fair, the firecracker shrimp and dumplings were fine, but forgettable. It's pretty sad they'd even send this stuff out of their kitchen. This restaurant group also owns Sidewinders, which also has expensive Applebees food. It makes me wonder if I'm wrong for liking Tanglewood, one of the other restaurants they own. read more

Great food, service and entertainment. The sushi is some of the best in/around Bozeman. Nothing mind blowing, but its good. Specials are a great value and the handrolls are quite large. Also, the Karaage is delicious. Entertainment wise, I'm not sure why more establishments have not copied Hachi's concept. Everyone has a blast with the free arcade games. read more

Happy Hour menu was top notch - AND delicious!!My husband ordered the Karaage and Kirin - delicious and plenty for both of us. I had the Crispy Shrimp Roll which I thoroughly enjoyed. We topped it all off by sharing the Pad Thai - this was plenty for two meals!! Our server was great - embarrassed that I can't remember her name. I love sushi and it's not my husband's favorite.
