What I had here was a beer type I don't often come across so it was very refreshing to get a change of pace. What I had was the Rope Tow Kellerbier. Kellerbiers aren't something I come across often. This beer is an unfinished, unfiltered and naturally carbonated lager. Flavor features involved floral and sweet with a crisp finish. The beer is light bodied which is something I appreciate these days more often than not. The atmosphere is nice with the astroturf look and offered a unique spin in that regard compared to the other breweries I paid a visit to in Bozeman.

Mead is always a nice switch from beer. The flavor and smoothness are just different from the beer we often have. We include ciders in this change of pace also. For Valhalla Meadery I knew fairly quickly about what mead flavor I wanted and that was their Sweet Earl Grey. I have had Earl Grey mead before at a meadery here in Washington and absolutely loved it and so when I saw something similar here I didn't hesitate on what to purchase. And the mead didn't disappoint in any way. It was wonderful! It lived up to it's name being a sweet Earl Grey and I believe was a bit sweeter than the one I had last year here in Washington. But it was a real joy to drink and I would certainly purchase another should I get the chance. The guy I bought it from was super nice and we chatted about my trip some before I proceeded to my next shopping stop in Bozeman. Definitely a place to stop at if you are a mead fan!
